Comments:All was great. Glad to see the lighting fixed/replaced. As usual very clean. The new security gate is nice to arrive to. Very happy the elevator working well. Our first time there, it was in pieces our entire stay. Martine is a gem. Apartment is, as well. Love "our" little place in Le Marais. Will be back Would be nice if MSNBC or CNN could be on the cable selections.

Comments:The loft bed was very comfortable and private. I would have given you an excellent except my friend slept on the pull out sofa and literally complained every morning that the mattress was too thin and she didn't get a good night sleep because of the pull out sofa. A thicker mattress would get top ratings in this catergory. This is a great property. The security to the building is excellent. The neighbors are great. One neighbor took my friend and I out to lunch and we had a great time. Another neighbor offered her assistance if we ever needed anything. The location is ideal. There is a Monorpix right around the corner that has everything that one could possible need. There are other boutiques and bakeries on the same street as the Monoprix. The apartment is in within 1-3 minutes walking distances to Metro stops Temple and Republique. It's also within 15-30 minutes walking distances to Centre George Pompidou museum, Louvre, Notre Dame, and many other attractions in the center of Paris. This apartment is situated about a block away from a park that is a great place for children. I highly recommend this apartment because everything about it is "parfait."

Comments:This apartment was great. The location was perfect; it was just off the square, down the street from lovely restaurants and right next to a charming cafe that was my first stop each morning. The space was just as pictured and fairly spacious. The kitchen was also great for staying in and was a good layout for cooking. I would happily stay here again!

Comments:The bottle of wine wasn't there when we arrived but I called 1 day later and it was subsequently delivered which we appreciated. The only negative we have to report was the poor lighting in the apartment. We had to use the light from either a flashlight or our cell phones to read at night after dark. The apartment really needs brighter light bulbs. Apart from that we loved staying there. Great location, comfortable. See above.

A few suggestions - put in more or brighter reading lights in the living room, fix the lights in the loft area that didn't work at all and put non-skid tape on the steps to the loft. I found them to be slippery. Thank you! We'd definitely stay there again!

Comments:The apartment would be fine for two people, three is crowded. There is no place to sit down and eat. The whole apartment is very small. Maybe some high stools that could set-up to the counter in the kitchen would solve the lack of a table. The manager was very helpful with both of our issues and prompt to attend to them.

Comments:The last two are "maaybe", not "flat no way". The noise, while objectionable, was balanced by the great transportation availability. And, as a 74 year-old, maybe the loft bed platform is getting a bit of a reach. So recommending the place would depend more on who I was talking with, rather than the loft apartment.

Comments:Sweet, clean, quiet, warm apartment in a great location. Decent size walk-in closet for luggage (not shown in photos.) Well maintained building. Care should be taken if you roll luggage across the bare floors (just worth mentioning). Also, if you are visiting in the warm(er) weather, and plan on using the loft bed, I suspect the apt. will get quite warm. There was a large fan in the closet area. Windows (of which there are 2) face the inside of the building (gully) that gets some sun but probably not much of a breeze. Air conditioners are frowned upon as they make noise. Washer/dryer combo is solid and quiet. Neighbors were gracious and even suggested a bakery and nearby restaurant. It helps when you do as the French do and say bonjour to everyone. Booking with VacationinParis was organized, professional and thorough.

Comments:This was a charming apartment in a great location. I felt safe at all times. The apt. was clean and there were plenty of clean towels. The washing machine worked very well and was most appreciated. As I was there on my own I choose to sleep on the sofa bed. I must say it wasn't terribly comfortable-bar underneath. The apartment would have been quiet except that unfortunately there was construction going on during my stay. It started just before 8 in the morning and was LOUD! I contacted Mme Martine, she was very kind and helped as she could, a great asset to your business! The only other thing which I discussed with Mme Martine was that the wi-fi connection was tenuous. The plug in had to be propped up just so or it would disconnect-hence no tv,phone, or wi-fi. Once I figured out how to prop it it worked fine. I loved the Marais.

Comments:Someone in one of the other apartments had their TV on very loud and very late. We could see that they had fallen asleep on the couch. Another night, in another apartment, someone had a party on a week night that went very late into the night as well. We may use the property again, depending on availabilty and price of other apartments. I have recommended your company to several friends and family. We have stayed at two properties and I prefer the first (on Picardie in the Marais), but I don't think it is available anymore. Your company is very easy to work with and very responsive. We will definitely use you again and will continue to recommend you to our friends and family. Thank you!

Comments:The sofa bed was not the greatest, but then few of them are any good. If we had been only three of us we wouldn't have even opened it. One of the dining chairs was broken so we only had three to use. And it's not clear from the photos that you can't have the sofa bed open while using the table and chairs, but we were so afraid of disturbing folks downstairs that we didn't want to open and close the sofa bed any more than necessary. So that was complicated. But we were glad to stay in this neighborhood at this price so we happily worked around it all. Others had noted in the apartment notes to avoid the washing machine and go to the laundromat around the corner. It was an excellently convenient and clean laundromat and we appreciated this tip.

Comments:Yes I would recommend this property but the loft bed was OK but when it is hot it could prove to be uncomfortable. The sofa bed was large and reasonably comfortable although I did not sleep on it my brother did. The property is suitable for 2 people or one couple only. The property has a very good kitchen and the bathroom was excellent. Internet was great too. Fantastic position as we walked into the city centre and close to the Metro - all plusses. Property does need a broom and brush and pan so as it can be easily cleaned each day.

Comments:The noise from,we think, the apartment below us,the first two nights was excessive--after that very quiet. We were surprised to hear others since the notebook we found,as well as the rental company emphasized being quiet--there was loud music and voices until 2 or 3 am and again by 6 am. The tenants we met in the hall,at the door, and in the elevator were very helpful and friendly. Our major concern was the heat was too high, especially when in the loft--there were not directions for turning it off. Even when signing in with password and user name given--the internet never worked, even though my computer indicated a strong signal. We loved all the books and information available about the city and the fact that there were some food supplies--seasonings,olive oil, coffee. We left unopened items we thought we would use but did not get to for the next person. I loved the location as we really liked the area around the Hotel d'Ville and Notre Dame--the neighborhood park next door was delightful!!

Kitchen utensils & glasses not really clean on arrival. The toilet leaks near the base and required constant mopping or putting down of rags/towels. Extemely poor lighting in the sitting area - where we wanted to write, read, view maps, etc. Excellent internet connection. Excellent location.

I have already mentioned the leaking pipe next to the loft bed - didn't bother us but am afraid that if not looked after - the floor might suffer. Comments:The apartment in general was great though I would say that it needs some money spending on it. For example some of the small tiles in the shower were gone and some loose - no great drama but having owned and renovated properties I would say that this one is absolutely lovely but getting a little 'tired'. Of the beds the 'upstairs' one was fine but the sofa bed was not - it was not flat and therefore uncomfortable - we put it away one day but since part of the mechanism was broken it would not open again that night. We therefore put the mattress on the floor - mnore comfortable but not really what you expect. In no way did it impact on our holiday enjoyment, nor really our enjoyment overall of the apartment but it's not really acceptable. I was really looking forward to the promised bottle of wine after a long day travelling but it was nowhere to be seen - still the Monoprix was just around the corner so we were not without wine for long!

Comments:The kitchen and bathroom were bigger and better equipped than any of the many Paris flats we have used. The location was excellent in regard to shopping, dining and transport and the elevator was very handy. The wi-fi internet was as glitch-free as we've experienced. The mattress was very comfortable, but the bed required some gymnastics to get in and out of. There is an uncommonly big closet, but no drawer space. The futon and lounge chair were not particularly comfortable to sit on. The door codes had changed prior to our arrival and we weren't notified. The floors were dusty and the floor mats appeared not to have been cleaned in a long time. Virtually all the information in the house book is outdated, particularly about the TV & cable box and what to do with trash and recyclables.

Comments:We totally LOVED the neighborhood and the apartment was great. The elevator was a gorgeous antique which worked perfectly. We meant to leave remarks in the journal/log book, which we enjoyed reading, but did not have time. On my previous visit to Paris, we stayed in a hotel near the Louvre--and this time was a totally different experience. We loved the entire Marais--the nearby park, the wonderful shops and museums and the Sunday Bastille market. We enjoyed the Marais so much we spent the majority of our time there and, even though it was my sister's first visit to Paris, did not spend much time seeing the rest of Paris. This visit was too short and only made us determined to return. The only problem was that it was hot in the loft at night--and this was in early May. The fan made it tolerable for my sister (relegated to the loft), but I can imagine it would be a real problem during the summer.

Comments:Some Footnotes: We were reasonably comfortable there, but there are a few things that would have increased our comfort level, and probably that of subsequent guests as well. Overall: Apartment needs a bit of R & R and TLC after a summer's obvious heavy use. The Marais is an interesting enough district, but our favorite parts of Paris are on the Left Bank, many of which are burdensome to get to from this neighborhood. Having the Monoprix around the corner was a plus; the street people encamped in front of it were not. General cleanliness: Lots of dustballs in the corners, behind the sofa bed. Floors need a thorough wet mopping between guests. Shower floor needs scouring. Kitchen: Needs a more usable assortment of pot and pans. Perishable foods need to be cleaned out of the fridge between tenants. Bathroom: The 13" step from the shower to the floor is treacherous to negotiate in bare, wet feet. It needs a substantial hand-hold for steadying oneself and to reduce the impact of landing. Bathroom door needs to have a new track-follower installed at the top so it closes easily. Towels: Half the towels we used left an unpleasant sticky residue on our skin after use. We can't guess what might have caused that. The building owners made their annual change of entry codes during the 5 days were there, which caused some anxiety and consternation until we finally found another resident who was willing to share the new code with us.

Comments:We have used Vacation in Paris apartments several times now and always find them good value for money and conveniently located, as was this one. This apartment was not as clean when we arrived as usual, the shower floor was dirty or stained, and there were damp towels in the washer/dryer. Sleeping in the loft got quite hot at times, even in early autumn. Lighting in the living area was too low. The mirror in the bathroom had no light on it and was hard to use. We couldn't find a recycling bin for glass. Sometimes the other residents were very noisy, including in the middle of the night - we had to leave the only window open all night to keep the place cool. We do intend to use your service next time we are in Paris and will continue to recommend you to friends, just not this studio.

Comments:Being vegetarians, we needed an apartment where we could cook our meals. Rick Steevs pointed us to vacation-in-paris and we are glad we chose them. Dealing with vacation-in-paris was no hassels at all. Our stay in Paris at the studio loft was perfect. The apartment was more comfortable than what we read on the website. Pros : The loft was small but fully functional. It is close to the Temple and Republique metro stations, Close to Monoprix (where we did our grocery shopping), Close to banks, shopping and resturants. Taxi service listed in the instructions was prompt and spoke in english Cons The instructions to enter the loft are a little bit confusing and needs to be slightly modified. There is an extra gate at the street that is always open. (not sure if this is a con) Key was a little hard to use at first but we figured it out very quickly. Maybe a note of this in the document will help. Overall our stay was pleasant and we did not have any trouble at all. You will have a repeat customer in us. I wish you expand to other major cities in europe e.g. London and Rome. We forgot to ask her about how to unfold the sofa so the first night we struggled with it and left it. We asked her the next day. You may want to make a note of this in the doc. Sofa beds in the US open up a different way and I did not even think the whole back would roll out. From the pictures, the loft bed looked quite unsafe for kids. That is not so. Maybe you want to change the picture. The bottle of wine was really good.

Comments:Last morning at 5am someone in the building need to use a power-nailer...or so it sounded. They 'nailed' off and on for 20 minutes until the locals probably had a talk with them. At least we didn't miss our plane. A second small fan would have been nice. There's one for the bed and then a huge loud one for the rest of the apt. Since it reached almost 100F while there I got a little cooked at night since I was in the lower bed area and only the kitchen window opens. The online information says calls to the US are free. In the apt it says they have to be billed to our phone card. We didn't use it because we could email our US contacts that the plane would be late. It would have been nice to call or have this clarified either way.

Comments:We loved the apartment and the location. Our only suggestion would be to improve the lighting. The overhead light in the loft didn't work and the other lamps were fairly ineffectual, making it difficult to read. Other than that, though, the place was perfect.

Comments:The apartment could use a better fan. More importantly, the apartment could use a stronger lamp. The light from the window facing the courtyard is not much and the standing lamp only shines into the loft leaving the main floor very dark in the evenings. We had a wonderful stay in the apartment and the information packet was very helpful! Thank you!

Comments:This was my fourth visit. The renovated bathroom is beautiful and greatly improved. Apparently Mme Hamel added some padding to the bed which made it much more comfortable.

Comments:The big plus was that the flat was warm - important in Dec/Jan. We felt that the place needs a thorough overhaul - especially of access to the loft sleeping area and the wiring, which would not pass for holiday letting in England. Not really big enough for 4 people. Security felt good, other tenants quiet and an interesting area with good Metro links. Given that your tenants are not likely to include children we thought your instruction leaflet was rather bossy! You dealt very fairly with our post-holiday complaints and whilst we are unlikely to rent that flat again we would look at your web-site if we needed a place to stay on a future occasion.

Comments:At the apartment, we felt like residents and not tourists from Guam. We loved riding the subway, learning our way around Paris and the surrounding areas, going shopping with the locals, eating at the restaurants, cooking, and having clean clothes! For me, the best way to describe the apartment was "shabby chic," but don't get me wrong, we realize the building is old and has character. While some areas (bathroom and living room) could have used repainting, it was part of the experience. We will use your services again and look forward to another trip to Paris and/or using your services at other locations. In keeping with a famous credit card commercial: Vacating in Paris, Witnessing the Evening Lighting of the Eiffel Tower, Viewing the Mona Lisa, and Saving Money by Renting an Apartment....priceless.

Comments:Would especially recommend the apt to a couple w children. Hideabed somewhat uncomfortable. Neighborhood, including Metro and access to Monoprix and restaurants was great. Also recommend checking on Google Earth to navigate and get familiar with the "virtual" neighborhood before arriving. Appreciated the notes, travel books, and recommendations left by other travelers. Thanks for a great Vacation accommodation and stay. Again, thanks to the manager for the "strike" heads up and consideration. She spoke excellent English.

Comments:When I arrived I was upset to find the ancient elevator was out of order and I had to lug my baggage up 3 flights. It was a week before it was fixed. The fold out sofa bed is still rather uncomfortable but I can put up with that because of the washer/dryer, the oven to warm up my morning croissants (a microwave is no good for that) and the wifi.
