Comments:We stayed both at the beginning and the end of a tour outside of Paris. The Rue Cler location was absolutely perfect. Close to the Ecole Militaire metro station, wonderful shops and cafes in the Rue Cler. We woke in the morning to the smell of bread baking in the boulangerie, and were lulled to sleep by the sounds of the chatter in the cafes below. Seeing the twinkling top of the Eiffel Tower made it all the more romantic. Thank you for making my husband's first trip to Paris so memorable. We will be back again, and would love to stay in this apartment again. Thank you VIP for another great trip! Tiles in the shower need to be fixed. Near the drain the flooring gave a little. Felt like maybe dry rot? Should be addressed before more damage is done or someone gets hurt.

Comments:This was our second visit to this apartment so we knew what to expect. We love the location amidst the variety of shops and cafes on Rue Cler. We again felt like true Parisians buying flowers, meats and cheeses, fresh baguettes, and local wines all in one?s neighborhood. Our apartment was clean and comfortable, and most welcoming. The tiny balcony with its peekaboo view of the top of the Eiffel Tower was an added plus. Thank you so much for the wonderful merlot upon arrival.

Comments:Quite noisy at night outside due to bars and restaurants but only as we left the balcony doors open the first night. After that, with the balcony doors closed it wasn't a problem. Exceptional service from start to finish. Many thanks to all the staff.

Comments:I DO still love this apartment! But in the spirit of "we're all in this together" and in hopes of staying here again, I offer the following: FYI - One of the window shades in the living room needs to be tightened with a Phillips head screwdriver, which I did not have at my disposal. Every time I (gently) pulled the cord, it would tilt all the way to one side, making it inoperable, and then simply fall off the window onto the floor. Unfortunately, I had to use them a lot because the sun got so hot that they needed to stay down while I was out during the day. I had to stand on tip-toes, or on a chair, and hold it in place with one hand while operating the cord with the other. Some better, more substantial brackets might help keep it from happening again. Regarding noise -- I happen to like the cafe "white noise" wafting up from the street. Typically the building is very quiet on the inside, but there was one night during my 3-night stay when the upstairs neighbors seemed to be... having wrestling matches? Rearranging furniture? Practicing gymnastics?? between 12:30 and 200am. Then there was quiet for about 30 seconds followed by what sounded like a high-volume floor sander making even more noise than before. They finally stopped after another half hour. -- Very weird, and rather unpleasant to someone already jet-lagged. Hopefully it was a fluke. I only mention it in case others bring it up, so you can identify a pattern if there is one. re: The Kitchen -- This is really very well-equipped and I enjoy using it. There is just one thing that has become a joke between my husband (also a very smart man!) and me. -- I know this sounds stupid, but the microwave remains a mystery!! The book is no help because there is no way to know which of the mysterious, little, almost invisible icons represent the different functions The book just says, "Select microwave and hit start." But how? .(And you can only SEE the little icons if you crane your neck and shine a flashlight into the black glass of the oven. That was an exciting discovery, but then I realized that seeing them didn't actually help... Do you want the tiny drawing of the pencil dispensing spaghetti? The bad Three Stooges haircut? The wee mountain range? What do they MEAN? ) Just when I think I have it figured out, I realize that the oven IS making noise for the specified period of time (yay) BUT the food remains cold, even after 5-10 minutes, which would make the food blow up in most microwaves! I thought I had tried all the logical combinations of controls in systematic way, but my patience gave out if hunger was a factor. ANYway... an index card with a few lines of instructions saying how to: 1) select the microwave function, 2) set the cook time and 3) set the power before hitting "start" [which I did locate) would be fabulous. :-)

Comments:This property was in an ideal location and suited myself and my husband perfectly. We loved all of the restaurants and shops nearby and close proximity to tourist areas so we could walk everywhere. The welcome bottle of wine was a nice touch that we appreciated. It got a bit warm in the apartment in the late afternoon but opening the balcony doors and windows helped. We couldn't quite figure out the air conditioning unit in the bedroom but it worked fine at night with the fan which drowned out the noise from the streets below. It can get boisterous downstairs as there are two popular cafes but we didn't mind. The view of the Eiffel Tower is lovely and the light show at night can be seen from the balcony which is an added bonus!

Comments:Fantastic 4th floor walk-up with great shopping right out the front door. Street in winter was quiet in the evening. The kitchen has lots of equipment and a full-sized fridge. Functional and fast internet. The only reason I'm knocking off 1 star is that the water heater wasn't working the day we arrived, so our fist few showers were cold, but Tania got that fixed right away. Would definitely stay here again.

Comments:Great lively location which was so convenient but could be noisy in the mornings. We found a solution by putting on the fan in the bedroom which muffled the street noise and the problem was solved. This apartment was such a romantic spot for the perfect vacation in Paris.

Comments:I said that there was too much noise from outside the building, but that was only in the evenings when the crowds down at the cafes were there (we weren't trying to sleep so it was fine) and a couple mornings when the recycling picked up the glass bottles (Friday and Monday mornings). Nothing that would keep us from staying again, but it was pretty loud for quite some time! The bathroom shower tiles are coming loose on the floor which can be a bit precarious if you step on one, but no problem overall. Just something the owner should look at fixing. The bathroom electrical outlet was in an odd spot, so I ended up using the hair dryer and curling iron in the kitchen with the microwave reflection as a mirror. No complaints, just different! One other thing, the air conditioning in the bedroom was not vented outside so the hot air blew back into the room. We ended up putting the hose outside and using the curtains to cover the open spot in the doors at night which worked fine. We only had to empty the water tank once during our four days, but I didn't see anything in the information book about doing that so it might be helpful for future renters who stay during a hot spell. The tank needs to be emptied if the air conditioner is used! We absolutely loved the apartment! Would definitely stay again. It was so great to walk out of "our home" onto the busy market street each day. We went to the local shops for picnic items, and stopped for breakfast and dinner some days. Exactly what I envisioned it to be! I loved having a separate living space in the apartment since I'm an early riser and don't want to wake my husband. Thank you, Vacation in Paris, for another wonderful trip! Can't wait to return.

Comments:Great service from VIP and a very nice property, as advertised. The apartment has an excellent location and has everything you need. The primary complaint was that the pullout sofa is lower quality and not comfortable, so this property is best suited for 2 people or less. There was some street noise from Rue Cler, but that's part of the buzz and excitement of the location. Views of the Eiffel Tower were a treat, although the balcony wasn't as comfortable as I thought it might be.

Comments:The couch is getting a little shabby (zippers on the cushions not zipping all the way) but everything else was excellent (and it wasn't a big deal to us about the couch but could be to someone else) Someone posted a negative comment about the conditions of the apartment right before I was leaving. It made me a little nervous and so I emailed Donna about it. She address my concerns (my main concern was just the conditions of the bedding) and when I got there the sheets and bedding were in excellent condition. You guys were all great. I would DEFINITELY rent from you again and recommend your company to others. Thank you so much!

Comments:Location is fantastic! So many delicious cafes and restaurants outside your door and major attractions within walking distance. Apartment is adorable, comfortable, and has everything one might need. We loved sitting with the balcony doors open listening to the sounds of Paris. Be aware that it can get rather loud late at night at the cafes and again early in the morning from delivery and trash trucks, but we consider that just part of the deal staying in the heart of a major city. Would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to others!

Comments:Rue Cler is a great area to stay in (restaurants, shops ,metro, French ambiance, and waling ease to Paris attractions) The dryer is a total mystery. The washer did fine, but the conversation to drying was never solved by us. We would get 13 minutes of cold drying and it would stop. Comments in the guest book indicated that we weren't alone in this. The directions didn't seem to help. We contacted the local property manager and she acknowledged it is not easy and offered to come by and go over it. Due to our activities we didn't take her up on the offer. I would suggest that she write out a step by step process that woks right and leave it for the guests

Comments:I finally was able to book "Heavenly rue Cler". I've been wanting to stay in this apartment for a very long time, but I was never able to find an open set of dates that fit my vacation times. The apartment management is amazing, and dealt with them (VIP) was as enjoyable as staying in the apartment. I go to Paris very often and rent apartments, but it was never as easy as with VIP. They actually sent me the key of the apartment before I left the United States and it made it so much easier on me. I ended up having a delayed flight and had to get into the apartment very late at night. I didn?t have to worry about anyone waiting for me, because I had my own key. The apartment is on fabulous "Rue Cler". Amazing Restaurants, bakeries, and everything that you could possibly need. The

In previous rentals through VIP, the house book contained really good directions for how to use the appliances and TV. This one just has the owners manuals. We figured everything out, but directions telling us just what we need to know to operate the items would have been so helpful and time-saving.

Comments:I appreciated your quick responses to my emails pertaining to transportation and directions to the apartment from the train station. The only thing that I want to mention is that some of the dishes and cups were not clean when we pulled them out of the cupboard. It also would have been nice to have had an electrical outlet in the bathroom but we just used the outlets in the living room to dry our hair. The folder containing the manuals for the appliances was well organized and a great idea. We also appreciated the owners comments regarding what grocery stores to go to.

Comments:I refrained from giving all "excellent" grades because I believe that should be reserved for 5 star accommodations. But for the price, we found the apartment very charming, comfortable and clean. It was nicely decorated; had a convenient washer dryer; had all the product info at hand; great peep-a-boo view of the Eiffel Tower too! Hated climbing the 80 stair steps to the apartment, but that was part of its charm (and all that exercise gave us permission to eat croissants for breakfast each day!)

Comments:This was the perfect place for us to stay on our honeymoon! The apartment had such great charm and the location was wonderful! It was nice to have our "home base" for the week in such a lively area that was easily accessible to everywhere else in Paris. We ventured out all day and when we returned to Rue Cler at night, there were plenty of places to have a glass of wine before we turned in and started again the next day. :) The apartment was the perfect size for the two of us and was very clean, comfortable and had a great view! I can't gush enough about how wonderful this property was or about our experience with using Vacation in Paris.

Comments:The bed in the main bedroom was great; however the pullout couch was very uncomfortable, such that it wasalmost unusable and more comfortable to be slept on as a couch and not a pullout bed. The apartment was totally charming and the set up actually made my siste,r who was traveling with us, feel like she had her own private room at night. The balcony with the view of the Eiffel tower and it's light show every hour on the hour absolutely clinched the deal for us! Then there was happy hour on the balcony and morning coffee on the balcony....We loved it. Plus we ate at 3 different restaurants within a block that were all great and reasonably priced. The location also made so many special parts of the city walkable.!! We'd definitely do it again!

Comments:This apartment was a very nice and lovely place to stay and visit Paris! The location was amazing and very central to so much. The only concern I had about the apartment were the floors. They seem to be the original wood boards and are very delicate (broken in a few spots). Please don't get me wrong - they absolutely added to the charm of the apartment, but I worried that were overly fragile and we made a great effort to walk very lightly on them for fear of falling through the floor. And they were very squeaky. Otherwise, we definitely enjoyed our stay! Thank you for another fantastic apartment in Paris!

Comments:Only real negative was the stairs when arriving or departing. It was a bit of a struggle for us getting luggage up and down. But we were well aware and expected it. It was so worth every step though! I would not change a thing. We weren't able to figure out the combo washer and dryer. We could wash but not dry. I am sure it was operator error. But we gave up on it because we did not want to waste valuable Vacation time on studying the manual any more. Besides there are several laundries on Rue Cler and it was much easier to use them! The location was amazing. Rue Cler could be a Dysneyland creation of a French Street! The flowers, food choices, restaurants, wine, bakeries, shops, all conveniences, and more. It felt like a fantasy walking the streets. Loved being able to sit outside an overlook the activity below. We could not have picked a better location. And it was lovely staying in a private residence not a hotel. We felt like we lived there. It was a nice touch to arrive and have a complimentary bottle of very nice red wine. I would highly recommend this rental.

Comments:It was a great apartment. The people upstairs were noisy on and off and lots of noise from kids in the building at all hours. Honestly, living in NYC it didn't bother me but a couple that is looking for a quieter building might be disturbed. This comment is more to inform staff so you know what to recommend to people and not a complaint from me. I'd go back to that apartment in a heartbeat. It is very well equipped and up to date. I enjoyed cooking a couple of times in the apartment. Felt like home.

Comments:We had a fantastic stay in the Rue Cler apartment with our two young daughters. We found the apartment to be a bit more spacious than the photos - especially the living room - and it was perfect for our family of four. The location is terrific, and we loved having the market street below us. Each morning one of us would go shop for our breakfast - baguettes from the patisserie, fruit from the fruit market, cheese from the fromagerie. Wonderful. The rain shower was a pleasant surprise in a European bathroom, as well. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We hope to be back.

Comments:There was more noise than some locations due to the apartment being located on a market street. The noise was acceptable to us with the windows closed at night. The second bed is a sofa sleeper in the living room. The mattress is extremely thin. There is a single futon available for use as well. I would recommend putting the futon on the sofa bed as I did. This was very comfortable, but would not work for more than 1 person. Renting through VIP was a great experience. I look forward to renting with this company in the future.
