Comments:This apartment was in a better location I had expected. I was able to walk easily to the Louvre, Notre Dame, and many other areas. The metro is very close and the neighborhood offers many great shops and places to eat. The manager was professional, easy to contact and the apartment was exactly as represented. Highly recommended.

Comments:The washer and dryer was difficult to understand. It would be easier if it was actual label on the washer, what was the start button. We wind up washing 2x the same load while trying to dry. The kitchen is small but it was fine for my mother and me. The studio was small but fine for us. Great location and everything around to eat. 2 metro lines and easy to learn your way around. When we got lost people were friendly to help us. Its a awesome location. The metro is about a 5 min walk or less. Grocery, pharmacy, bakery, restaurant all within a few feet. You couldn't ask for more. He has a book that very organized. Free calls to US. Internet worked Great!! We found the beds comfortable, enough pillows. Room temperature no complaints. Just loved it!!! I loved Paris!!!!! It be great if there were English channels. Go see Moulin Rouge. Vacation In Paris is great to work with. I thought the night tour was pricey but I did get to see all the monuments easily and so beautiful at night. Some day tours you can do on your own. Do a Hop on Hop off sight seeing bus tour. We thank you for the bottle of wine that was very good. I thought that added a very nice touch. The book with detail informational was very helpful, you should recommend L'Open Tour bus and not Big Red Bus as tourist are trying to find there way around Paris. That would be helpful. Thank you for everything. We loved Paris

Comments:I was told that we could do an early check in but when we arrived, the room was just being cleaned. That was a bit of a disappointment. I even said in my booking reservation that I would be willing to pay for the extra night to be sure the room was ready but I was told that it wouldn't have been a problem. But other than that, it was great.

Comments:The location was wonderful -- Rue Montorguiel was exactly what we were looking for in an "authentic" Paris -- markets, cafes, etc. Very very walkable to the Louvre/museums; we even walked to the Eiffel Tower! Make SURE to read the guest book for etiquette tips -- these were helpful reminders before we headed out on our explorations of the city. We found Parisians to be exceedingly helpful and welcoming AND accomodating to our (I'm sure horrifying) attempts to speak French!

Comments:There is construction happening in the building on the floor below as well as out on the street. The noise was limited to business hours, 8am-5pm. We only had one morning where we heard an electric saw and some banging from inside the building in the 8am hour. While the noise was'nt too instructive we would have preferred to be alerted to the work before arriving at the apartment. Lastly we didn't know the VIP staff would be contacting us during our stay, the phone rang in the evening each day and we didn't answer it -- it rang on our last morning and I reluctantly picked up. I would have preferred contact via email from the VIP staff or at least given the option of how the best way to reach me would have been. The apartment itself is well appointed. Having access to a washer/dryer allowed us to pack ultra light, having the small kitchen allowed us to prepare light breakfasts, make coffee and keep a good supply of snacks and beverages on hand just like home. We LOVED the neighborhood surrounding the apartment, especially the pedestrian only streets with fabulous restaurants and great little bakeries, butchers, and the speciality food shops. What a great opportunity to dive into French cuisine and Parisian culture. We also liked that walking to most everything on the right bank was do-able from the apartment. Seriously fantastic location!

Comments:Hi- I appreciated the honesty of your staff and wasn't at all surprised by the apartment- it was dark, as I was told, but completely serviceable. I had rented another apt. the month before but had to cancel bc of a medical emergency and this was one of only a few available. The pluses were the GREAT location, the pedestrian street, the lovely shops and restaurants. The negative was that we never wanted to be in the apartment- not even for breakfast because it was dark and uncomfortable. Definitely NOT romantic in the least! Additionally, it was very damp and the humidifier had to be on a lot! The towels were skimpy for a week's stay...Because the window is directly on an airshaft, it would have been great to have a curtain between the frame and the actual glass window so we could get some air without feeling like we were living in someone else's apartment. While I appreciate the attempts of the owners to make it comfortable given the realities, I won't recommend this to any one else- though I have already recommended your agency to many friends. Your office staff is absolutely lovely and thoughtful!

Comments:We thought that the space inside the studio would be better used if the side table and chair beside the window were eliminated and the bed moved over toward the window to make more space for the eating table, which could be a bit bigger. Also, it was a bit confusing to know which apartment it was because of the stories. We weren't sure which lebel it was on. I don't remember if the apartment number was on the door or side of the the door or not. Would have been helpful, if not. Thanks! We enjoyed it and the location!

Comments:Re: Noise inside building - There was a fair bit of talking/noise in the building hallways by other residents in the late evenings, which was easily heard in the apartment. Generally quieted down though by midnight and did not interfere with sleep. Everything was great - it was a great location and the apartment was pretty much perfect for a solo traveler like me. Instructions about the apartment and how to operate things were very clear and I had no problems with it. The sofa bed took a bit of muscle to open and close but it was extremely comfortable. Apartment was very well laid out and did not feel claustrophobic despite its small size, and kitchen was well stocked with everything you need to make a simple meal. VIP as agency was extremely easy to deal with, from rental to deposit refund, everything went very smoothly. Would definitely recommend and use again.

Comments:*Bed...it was comfortable once it was down, but I don't think one person could unfold it unless they were very strong. It wasn't as much trouble putting back together. (There certainly isn't room for a real bed in this apt.) *The sleeping pillows were marginal and should probably be replaced. *The inventory that is in the "help" book needs to be updated as there are big items that are no longer in the apt. *The location is great with the shopping street, metro and bus all right there!! and lots of sights within walking distance. Since this property is on the back side of the building, it was very quiet. Everything was great - it was a great location and the apartment was pretty much perfect for a solo traveler like me. Comments:The apartment was nice, it looks just like the pictures. The location is awesome, you can walk to the Louvre. I love being that close to everything Paris :). The apartment was quiet and clean. The shower is a wee bit tiny but clean. I loved my visit to Paris. I did experience silverfish if you closed bathroom door after a shower at night. They may need to spray something. I was glad to see the apartment was exactly like it looks on line and in such a great location. I would recommend you update the instruction sheet to tell people to turn the light on in the hall way as you ascend the stairs. When I first arrived it was dark and it was Joseph the apt manager who told me about the motion lights in the hall way and how to turn them on. It just would be a nice tip for a single traveler. Overall I loved the studio, the location, and my visit to Paris. Thank you.

Comments:We really enjoyed the location and adjacent neighborhood of this unit. We knew that the unit was a studio apt. and would be small. The fold out bed was a daily chore but the bed was good and solid. We used the air conditionning often as the place seemed most always too warm. Its location next to the bed was not ideal for uninterupted sleep but again...it's a studio apt. and there aren't too many choices. A ceiling fan would have been ideal. The only other issue there was fairly common hallway noise of people talking and doors shutting. That's understandable for the most part because of the sheer number of people living there. This is a very nice unit in a lower price range. The unit is nicely maintained and its location is perfect. We would request it again.

Comments:The only suggestion I would make is to have extra bath towels available for guests. 2 full bath towels, per person, would be nice. This was out first time in Paris and we could not have asked for a better experience. The apartment was very clean and cozy and had everything we needed and the location was great! Rue Montorgueil was right outside out door and the street had everything you could ask for - cafes, brasseries , boulangeries, shops, and the list goes on. We do not speak French...we knew enough to be polite, but the local people were all very friendly and helpful which made our experience even better. When we arrived, we took the RER to Les Halles (metro station)...it was very easy and a great experience. The directions told us to use exit 3 at Les Halles...this exit is closed due to construction and will not be open until December 2013....we just exited through Les Halles Forum and out to St Eustache, and found our way from there...very easy and I do that again! The apartment was a 15 minute walk to the Louvre and to Norte Dame, and the Pompidou area was 5 minutes away. I read in other reviews this was a great area...and they were right! We are already thinking about our next trip to Paris and would rent this apartment again! Thank you for a great Paris experience....

Comments:Floors were dusty and there was no bottle of wine. Although we would consider using this property again, we would look for something with a better outlook. One of the reasons for this was the fact that the only window's outlook was to another apartment's window, less than three metres away and the resident had a habit of leaving his window curtains open and totally undressing in plain view! Another issue was returning the key. It cost us $70 whilst we were still on our vacation to guarantee safe arrival through the French postal system. We would have been happy to leave both keys in the apartment on our exit. The books on Paris, including other travellers' comments, were very useful. The location was very good.

Comments:I loved the location. So close to major train stops and on a great little street filled with vendors and restaurants. I felt very safe and could easily walk to the Louvre, Notre Dame and several other museums as well as some great restaurants. The apartment was perfect for our needs - a place at night to sleep. There is no window with a nice view or anything, so we didn't ever "hang out" in the apartment unless we were sleeping. Having a kitchen was nice, a good way to save money eating breakfast in (and much healthier!). The drain in the bathroom sink would clog which was kind of gross, but livable. We used the washer dryer and I turned some socks blue - I guess the water was hotter than mine at home! Everyone at VIP was super helpful. They gave us a heads up about construction happening and always responded to emails quickly. I would stay again and definitely recommend VIP to friends and family. Thank you!

The apartment's only window faces the inside of the building, so it was impossible to get fresh air moving through. The bathroom dehumidifier was useless, so the first two days were hot and stuffy. Once the A/C was fixed, it was much nicer. I would certainly recommend the apartment to anyone; however, I would choose another apartment from VIP for my next stay only because I'd like a view of the city and a separate couch/bed area. The VIP staff was extremely helpful and we will definitely recommend VIP to others and use VIP for our next trip to Paris!

Comments:The only problem we had was that the air conditioner was really loud (like an airplane in your room. I was waiting for neighbors to complain). The management company sent someone to look at it but he said that because it was under warranty they could not make any repairs. We opened the windows and fortunately it was not that hot the week we were there. The open windows did increase the outside noise level. The sofa bed was very comfortable for sleeping but heavy to pull out. We left it out since we mainly were sleeping in the apartment. The neighborhood was wonderful. We enjoyed being in a more residential location. There was a mini market close by with decent prices, bakeries, restaurants and easy metro access. The apartment is small, but bigger than a hotel room and very reasonably priced.

Comments:Thank you for the opportunity to comment on our stay at Arlequin. The room proved to be a surprise after getting thru the grilled and locked doors, then up a grimy and darkened stairwell.so it was wonderful to find an apartment with the TV already set to CNN for us, the wine thoughtfully placed there, even though we dont drink. We left it for the next occupants. What was absolutely great were the free calls to home (Australia). That has never happened to us before, and we did appreciated being able to let family know of our safe arrival and being able to catch up with a bit of 'home' news. Thank you! the room would be very hot in summer despite the aircon. It was very warm even in April. If we ever go to Paris again (hope), we'll certainly contact your company. Do you have the same arrangements in other large European cities? By the way, we didnt really mind the soprano doing her practice, or the restaurant smells wafting up every night! Thank you for reassurance about the key. We've already told incredulous friends that we sent the money off to America on the promise that you would send the key. It was a bit of a stress waiting for the slow mail, but the lady at V in P was very reassuring and it did finally arrive in good time. Thank you

Comments:An amazing and imaginative use of a very small space. Very attractively decorated. Bed in pullout sofa was surprisingly comfortable. Kitchen fully equipped. Washing machine instructions a bit too complicated so we did not use. Neighbourhood and proximity to restaurants and market shops outstanding. My only concern was that the apartment always seemed a bit musty smelling upon our return - though we quickly adjusted once inside. Who knows? It could have been one of those "stinky" cheeses we bought at the market. I found dealing with Vacation In Paris an absolute pleasure. A reasonable key deposit which was refunded on a timely basis. Having the key before we left was so reassuring. Being able to arrive and let ourselves in without a fuss was great. Dealing with staff who are located in North America and who spoke English was a huge bonus. Also, I felt the properties reflected conveniences/amenities like plenty of hot water and wireless internet that matter to the North American visitor. I would enthusiastically recommend Vacation In Paris and have already done so.

Comments:the instructions on how to open up the bed could be improved, as we were unable to pull open the bed simply based on the general information provided in the book. you have to lift & raise the bed "UPwards" to pull out the bedding. also the plastic stools have a crack in many of them. They are bound to break soon, and I would hate to see someone injure themselves while seated on these plastci benches.

Comments:The apartment was great! The only problem was that the bathroom smelled like mold. The dehumidifier never gathered water even though we turned it on. The size of the bathroom and the water pressure and counter space were great! The mold smell in the bathroom was not good. We had a fantastic experience. It was well worth the money. I would recommend having a paper and pen in the apartment for people to write down info from all of the great tour books you have in the apartment. Also, the dryer was very confusing, I could not get it to turn on. I did not try to use the washer. 2 pillows per person would have been nice as well. All in all a great place!

Comments:I could not have been more pleased with the location of the apartment, the comfort of the bed, the size of the bathroom, and the breadth of the kitchen supplies. I thought the high chairs at the counter and the high table were both super uncomfortable. Even though I was just one person, I would?ve appreciated having more than one towel. As a New Yorker, I?m used to apartment noise, but there was often loud singing in the late afternoon and several parties late into the night during my weeklong stay. Other residents also talked very loudly going up and down the stairs. Despite some small issues, overall I couldn?t have been happier with the apartment and would be happy to recommend it to anyone and everyone. I think it is an especially good choice for art lovers, foodies, and/or gay travelers. The map in the apartment was more detailed than any one I could find in America. It saved me from being horribly lost at least twice daily. The instructions for the washer/dryer were impossible to understand. I ended up just going to the laundromat across the street. The TV was also difficult to maneuver. The remote didn?t work and I had to press a bunch of buttons on the side of the actual TV before it would finally get a signal. I was also super confused on how the microwave oven worked, even after finding the instruction booklet. In the French manners section of the room guide, I would suggest adding an entry about paying people in shops. I consistently got rude responses from people because I was handing them money directly into their hand. I later learned that many merchants prefer you to put the money on the counter and then they pick it up. Same with receiving your change.

Comments:Noise: First night there was a party in one of the apartments with windows on the air shaft. VERY loud, very late. Aside from that, no noise at all. Washer/dryer: figured out how to make the washer work, but it seemed to take all night to complete. N Learned of V I P through Europe Through the Back Door, Rick Steves' website. I not only would recommend (and have already) VIP to friends, I can't wait to utilize the service again. It would be helpful if there was something indicating the Metro pattern

Comments:We loved the place. It was warm, cozy, clean and very well located. The noise from inside the building came from people coming up and down the stairs. Also, one night there was a dinner party and we could hear the noise -- it wasn't bothersome at all (we are used to city/apartment living). The one thing that did bother us was the cigarrette smoke. There was a strong tobacco smell that came from another unit. But again, that's part of city living. Thanks for your part in making our trip to Paris such a wonderful experience!

Comments:The apartment was excellant value for money, and the neighbourhood was great. The only reasons I wouldn't stay there again, are a) the lack of natural light; and the stairs. Too difficult for 1 person to lug the suitcase up and down. This is the 2nd time I've rented through VIP and I will definitely continue to use your apartments for stays of 5 days or more. I have recommended VIP to several other friends and we have been very happy with the professional manner in which all our interactions are conducted.

Comments:Everything was handled very well, the size of the apartment (while sufficient) was portrayed to be much bigger on the photos available on the internet which is slightly deceiving, perhaps dimensions should also be provided in cases like this? Otherwise, a lovely stay, excellent location and very good management from your team in the US, with whom I liaised with the most and made things very easy for me.

Comments:Room was small, especially without any windows opening to the outside other than a small window that opened to a vent area. A/C was needed even though it was cold outside as there was little fresh air in the room and it was always warm. A/C was broken and only worked periodically making it difficult to sleep. Two of the stools used to eat at the bar were broken and unsafe. Vacations in Paris was an excellent company to work with. This was the second time we used them and each time it was a positive experience. Professional, helpful, organized and avaliable when we needed them. We have recommended them in the past to our friends that travel and will do so again.

Comments:Pull out couch was good, but a comfortable chair would have been nice. Ottoman is sort of too big and in the way. I loved the neighborhood and you could not ask for a more central location. It is very hot in the apt. Neighbor said it had something to do with the restaurants down stairs. Time of year was good to have window open. I had a great stay and renting an apt. is the only way to go. If you try a little French the local shop keepers are very friendly.

Comments:If this is not the best location in all of Paris, it is surely a contender. When we emerged from the Chatelet/les Halles metro station ("you will see the Eglise St. Eustache. Go that way. Turn right after the newspaper kiosk"), we felt like we had stepped into a picture book of Paris. Visitors should not cheat themselves out of that moment by taking an airport cab to the apartment. Walking on, we saw a fromagerie putting out its cheeses, a patisserie across the way, coffee and wonderfully rich hot chocolate a couple doors down ... and it was too early to check into the apartment, so they could not be ignored. Sidewalk cafes are everywhere on the rue de Montegue. The apartment is on a quiet side street, practically an alley, and even that street has at least one fine restaurant. The next morning, we discovered a farmer's market on the next street over. Interesting neighborhoods are walkable in every direction, and it's an easy walk to the Louvre. Just my thanks to everyone for a wonderful weekend in Paris.

Comments:The apartment was very nice, very clean, and a wonderful location. However, the lack of a window made it seem a little claustraphobic. It would be nice to have a table and chairs that are not elevated like bar-stools. All in all, we had a great stay and really enjoyed the apartment. We have used VIP on two occasions have been very satisfied with the service. We would definitely use them again and would also refer our friends who may be interested in visiting Paris.

Comments:I loved the flat. The location was excellent and everything was just as described. The only issue we had was with the air conditioning unit. When we plugged it in, it tripped the breaker and the lights went out. We were unable to use it at all. Everything was fine when we flipped the switch and the lights came back on. Fortunately, it was cool enough outside that we could open the window to make the room more comfortable. I think you will need to replace the air conditioner. Except for the small issue with the air conditioner, everything about the flat and its location was nearly perfect. We were three girls on a fun trip and loved our stay. We found the apartment to be cozy and comfortable with just enough room for us. The street just downstairs with all the cafes, restaurants and shops was wonderful, and we spent lots of time just enjoying the neighborhood. It was perfectly easy to get anywhere in the city from the flat by walking or using the metro. The communication with VIP was great. Everyone was so helpful and informative. I would definitely use your company again, and have already recommended you to some friends traveling to Paris next year. Thank you for a wonderful stay in my favorite city in the world.
