Comments:The apartment location was amazing! We used the metro quite a bit and the apartment is a very short walk away from the Odeon metro station. Additionally, there are great restaurants right around the apartment and there is also a grocery store around the corner. The apartment in general was great. It was only my husband and I; and we had plenty of room to move around to cook, get ready in the morning, etc. There was a washer/dryer that worked great. No.

Comments:I only commented "Yes" about too much noise outside the building because the Euro Cup was going on while I was in Paris. I don't think that this would normally be an issue, and to be entirely honest, although the revelers were loud, it wasn't a bother to me at all - they were really fun to listen to! However, for others who might value their quiet time a bit more, it might be helpful for them to be aware of major events that might have large numbers of people in the cour in the evenings.

Comments:This apartment is so comfortable and spacious - we stayed in the downstairs studio for the last 3 years - moving upstairs was really special for us! We loved every minute. Although we did notice a fair amount of noise from outside which appeared to be coming from the covered portion of the street but it wasn't really a problem. We hadn't noticed it at all when we stayed downstairs - I'm just wondering whether that area w/so many cafes and bars has just become more popular. Sadly though on Fri/Sat nights we did notice a strong cigarette smell even with the windows closed. We are quite familiar with the neighborhood by now, we could have stayed forever! I'll re-send this when I'm on a larger screen - I only seem to be getting half the form at a time and can't leave my name, etc. I'll try again soon! Thanks for all your help though - and we hope to come back again!

Comments:THANKS for the bottle of wine! I wouldn't use the property again or recommend it becuase of the outside noise. My husband said he would but he sleeps better than me and doesn't mind getting up early. But it seemed once the late night noise was over the early morning started as there are a lot of businesses on the street. OK, would recommend this unit with the acknowledgment of the noise. We loved the area and would certainly recommend to everyone. Working with VIP was easy and everyone was very helpful. Would recommend using VIP. Wish you did other sites also.

Comments:I would definitely book through VIP again, but this particular place had very thin walls and the people on the other side of the bedroom were up all night playing their TV. It sounded as if it were in the same room so sleep was very hard to come by. I read through the guest book and many people commented on the security of the door. I didn't find that an issue once you got used to it. I would say that while the cobblestone street is lovely, the street itself is used as the escape for anyone eating at restaurants to go outside and smoke. Even with our windows closed, there was a constant smell of smoke in the air in the flat because of how it travels up from that particular street.

Comments:There wasn't "too" much noise from inside the building, but there was a fair amount. A party being held in a unit next door one night, and you can hear random conversations from other apartments from time to time. It just makes me more aware of how quiet we need to be if the walls are that thin. We close the windows and use the air conditioning at night which muffles any noise from the street. Also, I don't know what happened to the sliding glass shower door, but the shower curtain isn't a great fix. We have really enjoyed staying in this apartment for the past two years. I hope we can continue to do so as long as these old bones can get up and down those stairs. Such a great location and we really appreciate the great closet and storage space.

The people in the NJ office were so friendly and helpful, a very pleasant experience. We loved Paris, a lot different than 30 years ago when I was last a tourist there. People were great, and the food awesome, as well as getting around.

Comments:Yes, the stairs are a pain...and, yes, the locks take some getting used to....and, yes, if you are over 6ft tall you might have an issue...HOWEVER, what an absolutely great apartment because of the location, value (considering the location), comfort of the bed and superb storage in the bedroom, a really, "non-European-size" bathroom, and....especially....David, the Manager, and his interest in the customer (me). He is on top of every issue, big or small, and takes a great deal of pride in the wonderful first impression one gets when first coming into Apt #254. If you are a first-timer to Paris, please consider being on your own instead of a hotel...and this wonderful one-bedroom apartment overlooking the Cour du Commerce. I think that a list of recommended places in the neighborhood....perhaps even copies of menus (very easily available...especially on Rue de Buci....would be a big help. I would be happy to offer my input to anyone @ Vegasgourmet@gmail.com ...also, if it's not a major cost factor, a couple of additional TV station options would be a plus....Yes, you don't go to Paris to watch TV; but because of the time difference with the states, it would be a nice addition...as others have mentioned....to have a sports/news channel. I had to hop down to Le Mazet at the end of the courtyard to get some updates from the States.

Comments:We thoroughly enjoyed the apartment and the location. We did have a small problem with the cabinet door covering for the refrigerator. The door was very loose when we arrived and ended up dislodging. However, this did not stop the operation and did not cause an inconvenience. I had notified David (Paris contact) so he could look at it prior to the next renter coming in (which he did). Also, the main front door's locking hardware should be serviced. The door does not close easily and gets closed hard by renters/tenants when leaving. As stated by other renters in the past, I would agree that the locking system for the doors should be upgraded. My personal opinion (being in the security industry) is that the present set-up could be a life safety issue (doors are locked with a key and require the key to get out of two (2) doors). My feeling is that the doors should have free egress without needing to locate a key in an emergency (fire) situation. We also stayed in another location in France as well as Rome and Switzerland and found the same locking systems (requiring a key to lock and unlock from the interior). I'm assuming this is the norm for Europe?)

Comments:The apartment was in a great location -- great access to two Metro stations and one train station, and easy to walk to the Orsay, Notre Dame, and the Louvre. Loved the Carrefour convenience mart a block away on St Germaine for fruit and more wine (L'Heritage de Carillan Sauvignon was good and inexpensive). We enjoyed the Tennessee Cafe and the Relais Odeon Brasserie on our cobblestone passage way. There was a little noise at night, but the air conditioner drowned it out. The apartment is small and the ceilings are low, but it had everything we needed. We enjoyed the standard drip coffee maker (much nicer than a Nespresso machine). The one area of concern is that there are three doors with locks and two require a key to get out-- this could be an issue in an emergency when you needed to leave quickly.

Comments:There was a layer of dust over the table and benches in the apartment when we arrived. This may have been due to either the cleaner not having done their job correctly - or it could have been due to the renovations which were occurring in the other apartment on the ground floor. (See below) I have rated the linen & towels as only being 'acceptable' because they weren't the nice 'big & fluffy' towels that we are used to using. However, this is a very minor point. There is some noise from outside the apartment - but on only 1 evening/early morning did I find it annoying. Mostly, I accepted it as being part of the location - and the location is so good that it is well worth putting up with a couple of inconveniences.

Comments:This was a great property and for the most part conveniently located. The apartment was clean and comfortable. You can have a lot of outside noise on the weekend--lots of tourists walk this pedestrian street. I would say the one thing that can be improved upon is the "lock" situation with the sliding door, this really should be updated--you never knew if the door was really locked. The apartment did have a washer/dryer combo. The dryer doesn't really dry well, so we layed our things out on the heated towel rack. I probably wouldn't stay in this location again, although is was in St. Germain which is a lovely location.

Comments:Delightful indeed. Fantastic location, very quaint and authentic. Loved it. And very much appreciated the bottle of wine, condiments etc. First, much more detailed information about how to get there. I git out of the railway station (multiple exits) and went around in circles lugging a 20 kg suitcase. I took a taxi but even with GPS e went round in circles and dropped me off close to where I had started. Even the bar at the openiing of the street didn't know its name. So I think some landmark buildings, brasseries etc to go for would be very helpful. Second, we were two women 50+. Not fat and pretty fit. Getting our bags up the tiny stairs was an effort. It might be useful to warn those who are overweight or movement impaired this is going to be difficult.

Comments:The location was fantastic!!!!! So close to Notre Dame, the Latin Quarter and a subway station. We thought it would be hot in Paris which is why I picked a unit with air conditioning, we did not need it, we just opened the windows, although the week before was a heat wave, in general it's not necessary. Only problem with opening windows is the people smoking cigarette's below, their smoke drifts into apartment. In California` smoking is frowned upon, not so in France. The first night we arrived was a Saturday night and the noise from the restaurants below was a little loud, but no complaints, it was a Saturday night. Overall my family's experience was fantastic. You get so much more room than a hotel, the apartment had lots of closet space! And so much fun to got to a supermarket and markets to get fresh food. The accommodations were clean and charming, the bottle of wine was a nice touch, we prefer white wine so we left the bottle for the next guests. I would definitely recommend staying here!!! The only thing that you should address and should be easy to fix is the shower. After a couple minutes of showering the shower pan fills with water, I noticed it and turned off water while I used soap and shampoo and turned on to rinse. My son did not notice and the shower flooded to the bathroom floor, I told him it was not his fault since it happens rather quickly that the drain was clogged, I grabbed the used towels to soak up the water and ringed towels out in sink. You should send a plumber over every 3 or 4 months and have him snake out the drain pipe. We stayed at a hotel in Saint Malo France and were very impressed that a large bottle of water was in our room when we arrived. Our family drinks a lot of water and we are always buying water to bring to our accommodations. I think it would be great if you left bottled water in the fridge for arriving guest. When we stayed at a flat in Bath England we were told that there were biscuits in the tin (cookies in the jar), we greatly enjoyed that. These are of course the same as leaving a bottle of wine for guests, but that's all I could come up with as far as improvements! Hope to use one of your properties again, Thanks Kevin

It is in a wonderfully convenient neighborhood: shops, restaurants, good for wandering about soaking up Paris. There was the slightest bit of street noise and the occasional door shutting within the building, but not enough to be disturbing. In fact, we are trying to book it again in Nov. we did have some four legged visitors (it's an old building), but David quickly dealt with that issue. We never saw them again.

Comments:The street noise at night esp. Friday and Saturday night was really loud - the apt. was always warm with no heat turned on and we couldn't open the windows for cool air because of the noise. Because of the noise level, I wouldn't rent it again nor would I rec. it to anyone. The only reason I checked the bathroom as good was that there was no soap dish in the shower which was very inconvenient. Other than that, it was fine. We much prefer the apt. we have rented in the past on rue St. Andre des Artes. It is a noisy street but that apt. is high enough it doesn't matter (and we were there once during the World Cup soccer matches!) I think the stairs should be more accurately described in the website. They are extremely narrow and have no bannister (no room for one anyway). The low ceiling didn't bother us and my husband is 6'2". In spite of my negative comments, we did enjoy the apt. just not the noise.

Comments:The apartment was charming. The location was incredible. Any complaints are minor--no top sheet for the pull-out bed, only 1 roll of toilet paper. Comments:Fantastic location, and great value, but I would only recommend to people who want to stay up late or be part of the night crowd since there is a high level of noise coming from foot traffic and a few bars located very nearby.

Comments:We really enjoyed the apartment.......I would change one thing......fix the way that the sliding door at the bottom of the stairs gets locked. It was a real pain trying to lock the doors and not make much noise for the neighbors. Thanks
