Comments:It was also really lovely to be met at the apartment by a friendly, helpful local person who showed us round the apartment and gave us useful information. This is the second time we have used a Vacation in Paris apartment and we would hope to do so next time we are in Paris. The kitchen was really well provisioned and it was easy to have some of our meals there, buying from the lovely food shops in Rue de Buci. Regards Melanie The comment about noise inside the building relates to a group of people staying upstairs in what I suspect is the Vacation in Paris apartment on the top floor which we stayed in last year.

Comments:My husband and I rented this apartment for a week and had a wonderful experience. The apartment is spacious, spotless and well stocked with everything we needed. The street is quite busy with cafes, shops, etc. There is little traffic but it can be a bit noisy at night with the lively restaurant scene. Two metro stops are an easy walk away. We would definitely stay here again.

Comments:This was an excellent apartment in Saint Germaine. Rue Buci has everything you need at your doorstep (literally) and its location in greater Paris allows for easy travel to main areas of interest in the city. It is perfect for a family of four with two children. The "beds-in-a-closet" are comfortable and work better than you would think from looking at the photos. There were several excellent restaurants within 20 meters of the entrance. It was a little noisy in the front room, but the back bedroom opens on to a courtyard which is pretty quiet. We would love to stay here again.

Comments:We've traveled in France many times and have often rented apartments and homes. This experience was one our best. The neighborhood was lively; it's obviously a tourist destination but also retains a core of locals - at least in early summer, when we were there. We appreciated the secure, well-maintained building. Street noise did filter up to the salon, notably music at night. The bedroom in back was quieter in general, but subject to courtyard noise (construction? or daily early-morning garbage bins being dragged around?). The apartment itself was perfect in every way - clean, spacious, well-designed, fully equipped, and tastefully decorated. The owner's rep was friendly, professional, helpful, and kind. Two observations: I would strongly discourage guests from attempting to drive to the location themselves - tiny streets, no parking whatsoever. Also, though the wireless internet worked fine for a day or two, it soon bogged down to maddeningly slow downloads, making us wonder if the service provider purposely limited access. In addition, we never could get the TV to work, but if we'd been really interested in watching we would have called for assistance. Thanks again for a memorable stay!

Comments:The apartment was beautiful. We loved the beautiful furnishings and modern kitchen and bathroom. The location was perfect; very convenient to everything we wanted to see in Paris. We will definitely rent this apartment again the next time we visit Paris. My only complaint was that the hairdryer did not work and the manager did not respond to my text to replace it. Other then that, we were very happy with the apartment and were very pleased with how clean it was.

Comments:One night there was too much noise from someone who was playing music loudly at 4 am in the courtyard that the bedroom opened up to. Because it was warm, we always slept with our windows open. That was the night when the noise really go to us. Otherwise, the front of the apartment gets a normal amount of noise as you would expect on such a lively street and the back bedroom was usually quiet. This is the perfect apartment in the perfect neighborhood. I recommend it without reservation!

Comments:1. Lovely apartment and furnishings. Elegant touch to have drapes to hide/sound proof the front door and stairwell. Loved the secretary/desk in living room - it was "my space" for the week. Also - appreciated the automatic light in the bathroom hall, and table/bowl by the front door. 2. Need a few basics to elevate my ratings - ie. hooks in the bathroom (behind the bathroom door, at the edge by the shower...). Aside from a towel rack, there was nowhere in the bathroom to hang clothing or robes. Also suggest a shelf, basket, or bowl on the sink to hold toiletries. This kind of thing makes a stay feel more like home. 3. Suggest blinds or drapes on bathroom windows (or a note if people can't see in). I don't know if people could see in, but at night-time it sure felt like they could! 4. Need a lamp near the couch. We actually moved one (then returned it to its original location before we left). Otherwise you can't read from the couch except in daytime with the curtains open. 5. I don't recall all of the departure instructions, but given the price paid, I felt having to wash and put away dishes was uncalled for. 6. The complimentary bottle of wine appeared very old (and not in a positive, wine cellar kind-of-way). The wine level was a few inches lower from the top of the bottle and the label appeared to be faded and peeling. We didn't drink it. 7. Aren't there washer/dryers in France that work in a reasonable amount of time? 8. Lovely visit - I come ever year or so, and will use you all again. Lovely stay and we ABSOLUTELY loved the music and activity outside. Folks who are looking for quiet may not have appreciated it though.

Comments:As the taxi turned onto the street where the apartment was located, my mother commented "Oh please, just stop here, I'm in heaven" and to our amazement we actually were just outside the property. It was a dream. You can hear the cafe's below when you are in the main room, but it's not intrusive or noisy, it's part of what makes this location magical, especially in the afternoon when musicians play in the street. There is a bakery, a fruit market and a full grocery store just steps outside the door. The apartment itself is absolutely lovely, tastefully decorated, well designed, modern, and clean. The bunks hidden in the living room were very creative and actually quite comfortable for my mother and daughter. We will always book this location when visiting Paris and are fortunate enough to travel there for work annually. I look forward to our next trip and staying here once again. The bath towels could be replaced. Everything else was wonderful. I almost don't want to write this review as I don't want to share what a treasure this location is in the event the rates become to high or the property to frequently reserved!

Comments:My husband & I were 71 & 68 last year when we stayed in this apartment and are active seniors but it did get tiring walking up the 4 flights of stairs. There was a heatwave happening in Paris during that summer. There was a sign to not open the front windows because of the difficulty of closing them. But it was so hot and stiffling inside we had to open the windows and didn't have a problem closing them. Yet is was so noisy outside at night with all the activity that it was impossible to hear the TV. The apartment was NOT "an oasis like tranquility" as described on the internet. The two small fans were inadequate to cool the apartment so we just stripped down to minimal clothing to cool off. Also it was somewhat noisy when we opened windows in our bedroom as it faced an interior courtyard with other neighbors making noise, definitely not quiet with neighbors' windows open. Fortunately I sleep with a sound machine so I was able to go to sleep eventually. But our bedroom was also hot and stuffy. My husband and I each had to put a fan next to our side of the bed to help cool the room so we could go to sleep. We had young friends from London come over to visit us. Luckily they stayed in a hotel. If they had stayed in the twin bunk beds they would not have been able to get to sleep due to the extreme heat in the apartment. Those beds are only good for children. Kitchen was well equipped but we used it minimally. The washer worked well. We were told ahead of time that the dryer works minimally but it didn't work at all. fortunately I brought a laundry line but I needed more. I had to spread my wet clothes all over the apt.so they could dry. We had a washer/dryer combo in an apartment in Barcelona a few weeks later that worked beautifully so I know that the dryer in this type of combo can dry. We couldn't watch TV because we could not get the cable to work-I think we pushed the wrong buttons, don't think there was many English channels the one time we looked at it and it was too noisy outside anyway. Because of these issues I wouldn't recommend this apartment during the summer or if the people are noise sensitive. Positives: The apartment is very spacious with enough closet and storage space and would have been very enjoyable if it had had air-conditioning. It is in an excellent location as we were able to walk everywhere--even walking back from the Eiffel Tower on Bastille day. The metro stations are very good and central to all the tourists sites. I booked two walking tours and each one started at the St. Germain church right around the corner from the apt. One of the tours was about food. All the food places she took us to were within blocks of our apartment. We did not eat at any of the cafes on Buci but they must be pretty good as they were all packed well into the night. Wifi worked great. I would you Vacation In Paris again because it was good to talk to Americans about the rental.

It may have been mentioned in the description online, but it was not a major problem for us during our stay. The apartment was excellent. I have told our friends that it was so nice that I hated to leave it. I can not tell you how much we enjoyed our stay there. Re: pricing, I appreciated the owner's agreeing to charge us the off season rate even though we arrived before the end of October. However, I would probably not have rented this particular place at the higher rate, regardless of the dates. Overall, it was a good experience & I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment and VIP to friends. This was the easiest rental we've ever done due to dealing with a U.S. company & the prompt & efficient way your office staff dealt with my emails & inquiries. What a pleasure not to have to make bank transfers in foreign funds!

Comments:LOTS of noise from Rue de Buci until very late, 2-3AM, and starting at 6A with garbage collection every day. Apt got very warm even though we closed the curtains and windows while gone during the day. Perhaps heavier curtains in living room would help that. That might also help with the noise level. Noise from inside was due to the renovation of the apt below. We did get a 10% rebate on our rent. Thank you. Would we rent it again? Perhaps, but not during nice weather due to the noise. At least we did not lose power like the VIP renters 2 floors above us. On the positive side, it is VERY convenient to lots of shops, museums, buses, Metro, and RER. Perhaps the owner could provide a complete printed list of TV channels. We found a few other English stations by searching through the channels. The cable company might provide that. Since most renters seemed to be English speaking (from the guest book), writing out instructions in English for over, microwave, and clothes washer might be helpful. Booklets are in the 3 ring folder but only in French.

Comments:We felt the quality of the towels was poor for the type of property on offer. One bath towel in particular was quite small and they could all have been thicker. Also the blind in bathroom did not give much privacy - we showered with the light off in order to maintain our privacy! The apartment may be noisy in summer if you need to leave the windows open but as it was Spring when we stayed, this was not an issue. We would not stay in this apartment in the summer as we feel it may be too warm. Location is absolutely fantastic! We were very happy with the services provided by your organisation and would probably use you again when we next visit Paris. We did not experience any problems with our booking with you and were really happy with the information you provided.

Comments:There was noise from OUTSIDE but only in the morning for about 1 hour, when the restaurants opened and moved the tables around. Although it lasted only for 1 hour, it was very annoying and woke me up very early. The general building does not match the quality of the apartment and the 3 floors by stair can be very upseting if you have plenty of luggage as i did. Besides the comments from above, I would really recommend the appartment and I enjoyed my stay very much. It is very nice, very well equipped and I love the neighbourhood.

Comments:Overall the apartment was wonderful. I would say that the level of detail in the cleaning should be addressed, or eventually it will begin to be more apparent (dust build-up in corners, sticky areas in cabinets, etc). Rue Buci is indeed lively, and while it did not bother us (the rear bedroom location helped), I can see where on a summer night with windows open, it might be rather loud (and is loud until well after midnight most nights.) I think that the location of this apartment is ideal. The decor was beautiful and modern, and we would stay here again most definitely. We did a lot of walking, and found so many things were within a 10-15 minute walk (Orsay, Louvre, Notre Dame, etc). Also, we used the Odeon and the Mabillon metro stops and thought it was great to have two so close to our location. The sheer number of restaurants within a five minute walk blew us away! Also, the location of the Carrefour literally across the street was so great for stocking up the flat. We loved it! Thanks so much!

Comments:I think it is important to disclose how the apartment, and in particular the bedroom, wraps the interior staircase. First thing each weekday morning I could hear other tenants using the stairs, enough to wake me. Even the simple footfalls of a person going down the stairs is pronounced. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I did not feel anyone was being inconsiderate, it is just the way it is. If I were a light sleeper it would have been a problem for me. Luckily I could just go back to sleep once I recognized what the sound was. The only exterior sound that was disruptive was trash collection, and in particular, glass. Because the apartment is located on a bustling cafe/restaurant street, there seems to be more trash pick up, more often, in the early morning hours. The glass (bottles?) makes a lot of noise. I lived in NYC for many years and did not find these noises to be unusual. My suggestion is that renters be advised so they can make the best decision for themselves. I have rented other apartment in many locations around the world. I found this apartment to be particularly well stocked, the beds to be of top quality, and everything you could possibly think of available in the kitchen. Because of the location one might assume that there would be a lot of street noise wafting up into the apartment. The windows do an outstanding job managing the sound while allowing ample light to enter. This would be the perfect place for a long term stay.

Comments:The apt was absolutely lovely and I consider it my home in Paris now! The bunk bed was not quite as comfortable but certainly OK Main bedroom one was fine. There was a little noise from the street in the living room but certainly not much. We loved it! And life was so much easier being picked up and taken to stations/airport. This is a great apartment in one of the best parts of Paris. There is a grocery store across the street and lots of cafes etc. Close to Metro and walkable to many places. I loved the decor and the art work and all of the kitchen equipment. The stairs were the only drawback but after suitcases were up or down that was not much of a problem. We were so glad we found you! I have already recommended you to others. Many thanks for all your help!!
