Comments:I love this apartment- its my second time there, and I go mostly because of the great bed and the spaciousness of the apartment. There were a few issues with cleanliness. I'm not the neatest person in the world myself, but when I dropped something on the floor in the bedroom and moved the bedside cube to pick it up, there was enough dust there to suggest that no one had cleaned under them for many months. There was also grime on the outside of the dishwasher. None of this is enough to make me give the place a bad review- I was very comfortable there and would go again, but it might really turn off someone else. Also, the sheets on the bed are soft and wonderful, but the towels are rough and stiff. I think they must just air dry them, and I think they would be so much better if they were actually dried in a machine. As I said, I'd stay there again in a heartbeat- none of these little things were enough to spoil anything for me. Only that I can't wait to go back to Paris again!

Comments:There was no bottle of wine. One of lights over the bathroom sink was out, making shaving difficult. We couldn't figure out how to turn on the floor lamp next to the dining table. The vanity curtain hanging from the bathroom sink fell off several times. The instruction book for the unit was hidden away, so we didn't find it till the last day. The apartmentwas clean, comfortable, spacious, quiet, and convenient. There are more desirable neighborhoods elsewhere in the city, but we enjoyed some of the more exotic surroundings. We had a wonderful time, and would go back in a minute.

Comments:The traffic noise was such that it was not an option to leave the windows open other than for a very short period. The double glazing worked a treat. However we missed being able to enjoy the ambience of the trees surrounding the cemetery. The cafes & shopping in both directions met our needs admirably. We found both the bus services & the Metro enabled us to get about Paris very easily & quickly whilst providing numerous opportunities to enjoy Parisians in all their glory(almost)! The material left by the owner regarding the relative merits of the shopping for life's necessities was accurate & he It would have been made even more useful if a marked map of the area had been included. It took us a few days to find the impressive food shops up the hill- initially we did not travel far enough up & over the hill. Sadly it was only as we were leaving that we discovered a street/footpath/sidewalk market over the hill. We would have loved to have know of it during our 10 days in residence!

Comments:We had difficulty figuring out how to use the water heater and how to turn on the water for the shower. We also had difficulty finding the proper street once we got out of the Metro, since there were 5 streets all intersecting and it was hard to find the street signs, despite having a map. Perhaps would help to have more explicit instructions on how to get to the right street, such as "get out of the Metro station at the _____ exit and look for ____restaurant (or some landmark) once you get to street level. As a musician, I was delighted to see the beautiful piano and excellent selection of albums and sheet music, but sadly did not really have a chance to play the piano as our itinerary was so full, and we were out early and returned home too late each night. A lovely spacious apartment, out of the main tourist area but with some nice restaurants nearby - we enjoyed the Mere Lachaise which was recommmended by other guests in the guest comment book. Thank you

Comments:The apartment and location were great and right in a local suburb. It wasn't touristry which is exactly what we were after for our first trip to Paris. Access to the train was easy and lots of places to eat nearby including a small street market with fresh fruit and vegies. We found some small supermarkets as well.

Comments:Overall, we were very happy and enjoyed the stay. There were a couple of things: 1. There were towels on the drying rack in the living room when we arrived. We chose not to use these, but to use those left in the bedroom - and we doubt that the table cloth had been washed. 2. There is only one ceiling light fitting in the living room 3.We were unable to operate the TV. It didn't respond at all. 4.The salt grinder was broken when we arrived 4. We found some of the written documentation to be unnecessarily heavy-handed, even threatening. 5. The weather has been dreadful (but we don't hold you responsible for that.) HOWEVER: All information and instructions were clear and understandable The size and location of the apartment were excellent, as, generally were the fittings and facilities. The piano was a lovely touch, as was the ipod player and the bottle of wine. Wifi and library were excellent...we added to this as well. NOTE: As our morning flight to Australia made it impossible for us to post keys back from Paris, and our flight is over 30 hours into a weekend, it will be 4 days before we can send the keys back. This seems to me to be a very cumbersome process.

Comments:The rear of the apt.(kitchen & bath) have windows that let in ample light. There is construction going on during the weekdays and a large crane to be seen from this vantage. A couple of bldgs. have been striped to their shells and now being reconstructed. We didn't notice any horrible noise and it was always quiet at night. There is always some kind of construction going on all over Paris. As a visitor you can never predict when or where. This wasn't a problem for us. Frankly, even without the crane, the view from the back of the apt. is unimpressive--its the ample light that really matters. Also this apt offers ample privacy and is a restful retreat. There is a terrific farmer's mkt. Friday mornings around the corner on the Menilmontant. Lots of little shops to stock the kitchen. This is a lovely apartment and we very much enjoyed our stay. We would and probably will return---just no date as yet. The description of the should (maybe it has)be updated to include the microwave. Maybe not the best location for a first trip to Paris because other than the cemetery most of the big sites require a metro ride. Still the metro is conveniently located.

Comments:I very much liked the neighbourhood and would stay there again except that I found the subway stairs too hard on my knees! Next time I will stay closer to the central area for that reason. The apartment was charming, but there were a few minor (to me) issues- no frying pan, no door on the freezer compartment of the refrigerator, making it unusable. There were no clean dishtowels. I had to climb to reach the tea kettle- it could be more conventiently located. I did not use the stove or dishawasher, but the washing machine worked well. The WiFi did not work, and the Television was iffy at best. The bed was heaven-one of the best I have ever slept upon!

Comments:Cleanliness--we found the bed linens to be covered with some type of black lint and hairs. We spent an hour using a lint roller on all sheets, pillow cases and comforter. And, the apartment was very dusty in the corners, around the on/off lamp switches and under the bed. Bathroom--was fine except that there were no outlets and using the hand held shower nozzle was a challenge. Hot water was fine. Towels were good, except upon arrival we found wet towels in the washer. Also, I couldn't get the separate remote control to shut off the TV to work so I had to pull the plug to shut it off. Finally, internet access for our iPAD didn't connect (which also was noted by a previous guest in the apartment log.) Fortunately, we had other devices which worked fine, and the iPAD worked fine in the cafe down at the square. Our recommendation would be qualified based on the cleanliness of the apartment. Otherwise, the apartment was more than acceptable. It was very spacious and the neighborhood was very pleasant with all basic shopping within a 5-10 minute walk, including the Metro which provided convenient, quick access to all parts of the city. It was very nice to have the view of the trees across the street rather than another building. And, the bed was very comfortable.

The apartment is wonderful, with a great kitchen, terrific views and an awesome bed. I very much appreciate your office services!

Comments:This was our second visit to this apartment in one year - we love it! It feels like our Parsian home, I can't imagine coming to Paris and not staying here. The charming neighborhood, with all the local shop owners, feels like a true locals neighborhood, not overrun with tourists. And the apartment itself is warm and cozy and has a fantastic view overlooking Pere Lachaise. I'm writing a play set in Pere Lachaise, and also partly set in the apartment, and I loved spending each morning sitting at my computer, overlooking the cemetery and writing. A delightful place to be. My only less than 10 comments were because of the following: there was something wrong with the electric tea kettle, it was sparking so we couldn't use it. Maybe needs to be replaced. And one morning some of the neighborhoods were talking and shouting kind of loudly. Other than that, it was perfect! Thanks again for a wonderful Paris visit! I first heard about you from the Rick Steves graffiti wall - where travelers ask questions of each other and pass along tips. His network of budget travelers, who was to live like temporary locals, is a place I think you want to be - I recommend you all the time when I'm on the site and people ask about affordable stays in Paris.

Comments:The hardwood floor was dirty and turned bare feet and socks black. It would have been nice to have a coffee maker and microwave, although we got quite addicted to the coffee press. Some nicer decor elements befitting such a gorgeous 19th century building would add to the ambiance, particularly the light fixtures, art, and maybe an area rug. But we loved it. Your office staff convinced me that we should not rent a car or drive in Paris. So glad we didn't. It was the best advise. The people in the neighborhood were generally welcoming and helpful, despite our very limited French.

Comments:Most of my ratings of the apartment is average or a bit above average. The problem is I am comparing this to where I live. I live in an apartment in Toronto. I have never been in an apartment in Paris (or anywhere in Europe) so for all I know it could be above average or exceptional. Unfortunately, I can only compare it to my own apartment which is in a large city (of course my city is much younger then Paris). I think your web site and using an apartment in Paris is a great deal compared to a hotel. I also really liked living in Paris for a week in a more "typical" neighbourhood, one that has low / middle class people who live and work.

Comments:The front room and the bedroom were very quiet at all times with the doors and windows shut. However, during the day and evening there was a constant din of people shouting from behind the apartment. The shouting was from a run-down looking apartment block behind the apartment. It appeared that when it was warm, people would have all their windows open and would shout to each other from one apartment to the next. Since the shouting echoed around the rear of the Pere Lachaise apartment, it was very noticeable from the kitchen and bathroom and also the rest of the apartment if the bathroom and kitchen doors were open. I didn't find this very pleasing or comforting since it at first felt like I was in a very bad neighborhood. After a couple of days I realized they weren't angry shouts, just people communicating in an obnoxious way. I said yes to using the apartment again because although I disliked this one aspect, it was quite a good sized apartment and the bed was king size and comfortable and QUIET. In the summer I might not think the same though since street noise is much more noticeable with the windows open. I felt secure in the apartment and felt that my belongings were secure when I was not there. It was very nice to phone internationally for free and also to have free wi-fi. Thanks!

Comments:I gave the location a "5" because the neighborhood is pretty average. However, we enjoyed the close proximity to the Metro. We also appreciated the little bistro down the street as there has probably never been a tourist there and they served the least expensive and best cafe creme that we had in Paris. We gave the bathroom a "7" because it was constantly wet due to the half shower door. The next time we go to Paris, we call you first. We were extremely pleased with the apartment itself, but even more so by the attentive and organized service displayed by your company. We could not be more satisfied. Thank you!
