Comments:Very delightful locale for 2, especially with separate sleeping areas. Phone usage; strong wireless connection and cable TV was much appreciated. Ingenious use of a small space. The apartment was generally clean, but could use a "spring cleaning" on areas such as around the microwave, etc. Kitchen sink area and floors are showing signs of wear. Written instructions in bathroom on proper use of toilet flushing mechanism would be helpful as it seems that there are a number of comments in the guest book. The binder and guest books were useful in figuring out the quirks of the place. The garbage pickers arrived at 6:38 each morning in area behind garden wall. Nothing you can do, but very clearly can be heard from the sofa couch. Elevator was similarly loud from living room. There are comments in the guest book that the size of the apartment is misleading compared to the photos on your site. I think these people don't realize that a hotel room for an equivalent cost would be TINY, without all the amenities the apartment offered. It was fabulous to have this much space in Paris and to feel like you were living like a Parisian. How wonderful to use all the local shops (Miss Manon Boulanger for pastries each morning); picnics at the Place des Vosges; to sit at local cafes and take in all the sights, sounds and impressions of Paris just steps from your "own place". The bonus of having the St. Paul Metro stop a block away was huge as a jumping off point to explore the multitude of neighborhoods. Having never previously rented a vacation apartment, there was some trepidation about the experience. Thanks to VIP for making the experience so simple, from the reservation, the key delivery and instructions for arrival and departure. We would definitely recommend this service to others, and on our next trip to Paris, we'll be looking to book with VIP again. Merci Beaucoup.

Comments:The bed was uncomfortable and quite small. The size wasn't the factor as much as the discomfort. The toilet had a bad smell (we think the pipes needed cleaning). The actual toilet was clean when we arrived and we cleaned it daily but there was a constant bad smell. Fantastic location. Loved the courtyard - made a real difference on sunny days.

Comments:The location of this property is excellent. There are plenty of shops, restaurants nearby. Transportation is excellent with a bus stop right outside the building, and the Metro (Line 1) across the street. Thankfully, there were fans in the apartment because the weather was unseasonably warm and the fans provided much needed air flow.

Comments:While the location and the layout of the apartment were excellent, the linens and towels were old and stained. The floors had been swepted, but had not been mopped in some time. Comments:The property could not be in a better location, directly across from the metro and across the street from the grocery store and bakery! We were prepared for the size because it was clearly stated in the description of the apartment and although small, extremely efficient. The weather was nice enough to sit in the outdoor area which was refreshing after being out and about all day. Since it was not available for our entire Paris visit we had to move (close by) to another apartment. The next place was not in as great as a location but seemed like a mansion after staying in the efficiency. Otherwise, it is perfect for 2 people and a child. A warning for those sleeping in the bedroom..my husband and I both had bruises from the frame of the bed (too large for the small room, not enough room to maneuver around it without tripping). Perhaps the corners of the frame could be padded? Otherwise, all was perfect!

Comments:This is the 2n time we have rented this apt. You could not ask for a better location. Thre are more services nearby than you can us. and several good cafes The owner really should do omething about the running toilet.It is a terrrible waste of water. I jiggled the handle as advised in the comment book and it did stop but it started rightup again in a few minutes. I kept the lid down and the door closed but you can still hear it. It didn't bother us while sleeping as we also closed the bedroom door.

Comments:The apartment was very clean, with everything needed for a 10-day stay. The location is great - close to everything. The neighborhood is very lively, even at night, so I always felt safe coming back to the apartment late. Workmen were doing some sort of renovation in the hallways outside the apartment, so it got noisy starting at around 8am, but it didn't bother me because I was already up and getting ready to go out for the day. I have recommended Vacation in Paris to friends and colleagues as a very reliable and -easy-to-work with agency for Paris vacation rentals.

Comments:Someone REALLY needs to take the time to write out instructions (CLEARLY, in order and in english) for all of the items in the apartment (for instance, what setting is appropriate for the refrigerator). Pages of the comment book are filled with instructions for use of the stove, but it would make it much better if someone would consolidate all instructions in one place. (INclude silly things like: how to set up the clothes drying rack.) I appreciated your service, loved having the keys sent to me. Would definitely use you again. When looking for apartments, I really appreciated the sites that showed a plan of the apartment layout, which yours didn't. The main reasons I ultimately went with you were the deposit requirements, lack of lengthy contract, and the fact that your staff was clearly knowledgable about your units and of course, were American (and so understood my needs as an American in Paris).

Comments:The apartment was located in a busy, yet safe neighborhood. Once inside the apartment, the noise of Paris disappeared, and the apartment turned into a nice cozy place to stay. The value of the apartment rental when compared to hotels in the area was exceptional. There were a few ants in the apartment but we soon discovered they were attracted to something in the trash can from before our arrival ( even though all trash had been thrown out). A little spray did the trick. Several guests had written they could not lock the glass door to the patio, but we had no trouble! Everything was efficient and well handled. Comments:We loved our little apartment in the heart of the Marais. It was so very quiet and the beds were both comfortable. We did not spend much time inside, but would definitely consider staying there again. We did have a problem upon arriving - there was a strong sewage smell. Also, the toilet did not flush well. But the local manager sorked on our problem immediately and got it (mostly) resolved. She was planning to get a plumber in after we left. I used VIP because of favorable comments on Tripadvisor and Fodors. We really appreciated being able to get the keys ahead of time and go straight to the apt - we were even able to get in early since there were no other renters the morning we arrived. Very impressed with the whole operation!

Comments:The apartment position was even better than I had hoped, the instructions were very precise in locating the apartment and getting in to it. Apparently there had been trouble with the toilet before we got there and that still hadnt been addressed. Comments:There was a disagreable odor from the shower drain on arrival which cleared up after airing the appartment. The linens smelled fresh but on one bed were stained with what looked like dried blood - this I found totally unacceptable. The only negative aspect is that it is the equivalent of a basement appartment - there is lots of natural light but you look out onto a wall , so no view. But, the location of this place overrides any negative aspects - I would probably rent it again, or go for something close in the immediate area if I wanted a window with some view. I would like to you to know that Mary Thompson was very professionnal , and helped resolve our problems rapidly.

Comments:Apartment was clean when we entered but shelves in living area were quite dusty. We didn't mind having the shower in the bedroom but the shower door has a gap at the bottom and impossible to keep water off the floor...bathmat not nearly big enough...clearly there has been water damage in the past. Towels were adequate but hard to dry; would have been nice to have extras. Kitchen was very small but functional.
