Comments:We loved staying here! The location is lovely-Rue Cler outside the front door, Eiffel Tower 5 minute walk, metro close by, and endless delightful cafes nearby if you feel like eating out but a lovely kitchen with anything you might need to make a nice meal yourself. Good communication with property manager. Neighbors in the building were polite, i.e. no one was super loud. The garden patio is somewhat small but so lovely, especially when it's not raining; there is no cover if it does rain. Closer to Orly airport than CDG but doesn't really matter. And if you don't want to take the metro and you don't want to spend the money on a cab-Uber is an awesome alternative. Two of us stayed here for 3 days and it was just perfect. Happy travels in Paris :)

Comments:We had s great time and love the location. We had stayed in the area before but in a hotel. This was more like living in Paris!!! It is just as pictured and very clean. We appreciated having some instant coffee on hand to start our day! The bed was comfortable and we loved the small patio!

Comments:There should have been a sofa or comfortable chairs instead of the trundle bed. Although we were not in the apartment all the time--it would have been nice in evening or morning to have had somewhere more comfortable to sit. There was a table and chairs--which was nice but the bar and bar stools were useless to sit at. Bed pillows--we only had one bed pillow each--it would be nice to have 2 regular pillows each instead of fancy pillows. We enjoyed this ground floor apartment. in the great Rue Cler neighborhood. The outdoor area was also very nice to have. We have used VIP 6-7 times and always find the service excellent.

Comments:We are spoiled in America with bedding. It's a bit more rustic in Europe and I know this. There was a lot of construction going on the street for this visit with early morning banging that continued well into the evening at the beginning of the stay. The Evening noise got better as the week wore on but mornings were still loud. Lovely apartment. We had a wonderful time and I would gladly rent again/recommend to friends.

Comments:There was a party of young people (American) drinking and talking loudly until about 2 am on our first night but after that we slept well. The information provided in the apartment was really great and we loved the location. The door took a while to figure out, needing to be pulled towards you at the same time as turning the key. I was pleased at how quickly my deposit was refunded. Thank you.

We enjoyed being close to the metro and the Eiffel tower, especially. But toured the city and Versailles. All was great. The trundle bed was very comfy the queen bed was not as comfortable. Just thank you for a great vacation in Paris!

Comments:We found the apartment ideal and located in a great part of Paris being close to Rue Cler (the markets and restaurants), shops nearby and of course the Eifel Tower. we loved the fact that we could have a glass of wine in the garden courtyard. The apartment has a nice feel to it inside. (don't be put off by the common entrance area). This is the 2nd time that we have used VIP whilst in Paris and would thoroughly recommend the service. There are a couple of things in the kitchen that could be updated such as the chopping board and also provide a decent knife to chop up the veggies.

Comments:There was street noise in the morning but we are from NYC and we sort of welcome a bit of street noise. Not sure how others from rural areas or the suburbs might react. It is a great flat and Jean Michel was very helpful and kind. Two things: weed out your bookcase! Please do not toss any novels or children's books or touring books but there were some old, very old rail schedules and other bits and bobs that may be tossed. Newer towels. We were fine but I think some from the new generation from the US might want more fluffy sorts. We will be back. Many thanks again for making this holiday so special for us and for the ease of booking. Madeleine No.

Comments:We loved that it was a 10 min stroll to the Effiel tower and the feel of the neighbourhood was exactly what we wanted a great blend of tourist and local vibe. The apartment door to open from the outside once you firsts arrive is very temperamental and perhaps needs a mentioned in the apartments notes because we were starting to think we were in the wrong place. When reading the guest book it was something that many guests had experienced.

Comments:Bathroom just a bit small, but functional. Kitchen equipment was plentiful and did not lack for any cooking supplies, Living area a bit crowded with the futon, but we moved it to accommodate our needs and moved it back when we left. We loved the area and felt we could get anywhere we wanted from the apartment. Very close tot he metro, laundry and grocery store. We so plan on coming back in a few years and will request this apartment if available. Before the trip I sent MANY, MANY emails with lots of questions and concerns. EVERY email was quickly answered and all concerns addressed. I was even informed to make sure I sent any emails or call with questions we had. We received a large envelope packet of information before our trip that was excellent. It detailed everything we needed to know about the apartment, how to get the to apartment from the airport, local sights. local amenities etc. The information received relieved a lot of anxiety of our trip. Sure do wish more places offered this kind of superior service!!

Comments:The apartment was in a convenient location and the price was acceptable to us. This is the reason we would use it again. The kitchen was small, but fairly new looking. However, the property needs some TLC. The furniture is old including a wire rack to hang up our clothes, an old very tiny televison that had only a few channels, old thrift shop type table by the bed, and the day bed cover and orange pillows were dirty. The bed sheets were well used, but clean. The towels were ragged and completely unacceptable. The owner mentioned that towels are expensive in France. I spent time shopping and they are not any more expensive than in the USA and other countries in Europe. The bathroom was very small with shower. We may stay there again because of the location and if the price was right. We would not recommend to our friends.

Comments:We did have some trouble using the key that was sent to me. The assistant manager (I think) was on the premises and helped us by trading keys. This comment has nothing to do with the property but might help the overall information about Paris. We were leaving Paris from the Gare St. Lazare on a train about 7 p.m. so tried to leave our luggage at the station's left luggage department. We learned that there is no left luggage department at the Gare St. Lazare. The very helpful SNCF employee directed us to the Gare Montparnasse. All worked out, but Metro trips with luggage are somewhat taxing:-)

Comments:There seems to be no consistent policy concerning the quality of towels in the rental apartments. The 2 apts I rented in the Marais had good quality towels whereas this one and another I rented in the 7th by the Musee d'Orsay had towels that were very thin, old and somewhat worn. I have started bringing a couple of towels in anticipation of this problem. I think it should be standard to have 2 full size towels, one hand towel and a facecloth per adult.

Comments:The towels and blankets would have been tough for more than one person. I had to use the extra blankets to stay warm. I didn't know there were extra towels until I had the common sense to open up the dresser drawers. The towel that had been left for me on the towel rack was small and thin. I never did use the phone as I couldn't figure it out. A dirty, wet, smelly mop was left in the kitchen for me when I arrived. I've already reported to you about the one o'clock commotion caused by the family members who were evidently renting an apartment upstairs. They were running up and down the stairs, banging on the front security door, and being completely inconsiderate of the other apt. dwellers at one o'clock in the morning. The glass security door is right next to my front door, making the constant loud banging even more disturbing. I've already recommended your services to three friends. The wine left for me was top of the line and so appreciated. The kitchen was great - except for the smelly mop. The plumbing was great, and there was plenty of hot water - two big thumbs up!

Very tight for two adults and two teenage boys, but we were only there to sleep. The patio doors when open give the room a larger feel. Some black mold around the door needs to be cleaned up, but the rest of the place was in great shape.

Sheets are blankets are ok. The apartment is supposed to accommodate four people. There are three chairs to use around the table. IMHO the bar stool isn't much good and just takes up space. Need to invest is a winescrew that doesn't require immense strength and excellent aim. A rabbit would be good. Reminder to clean off the patio table and chairs for a new arrival. We thought #56 looked much better than when we stayed in 2008.

Comments:There was mold in the bathroom. There were no directions on how to use the phone for local calls. I tried dialing the local numbers a few different ways but couldn't get calls to go through. We really appreciated the free long distance call access. Also, we had a leak in the ceiling that went onto the bed and into a suitcase. I sent an email to the Us Ddress but never gat a response. I probably would not use the apt again because I usually stay in the 4th or 5th Arr and think I like those areas better. I think the apt is a good value and would suggest it to friends who were looking for a good value. I'd be honest with them about the bathroom and the tricky door lock. The patio is the standout feature for me. It would be useful to have updated typed instructions in the redbook. Many of the phone numbers have been written in and crossed out several times. Also, because of slight variations in how the French write numbers, it can be confusing to decipher.

Comments:Great neighborhood. Hardly ate in restaurants because the Rue Cler markets were so close. Metro two short blocks away. Liked the private terrace - that is what made this unit special. Furnishings a little dated and worn. Well equipped but could use a couple of "house" umbrellas. Plenty of travel books - so don't bother bringing any and adding the extra weight to your baggage. Facing a "passage" rather than a street meant for a quiet night's sleep. Good value when compared to the cost of a Paris hotel. Would return.

Comments:The glass door in the hallway to go outside has shifted and now makes an awful sound when people go in or out (especially bothersome very early in the morning). The neighbours upstairs (we aren't sure it was in the same building) were very noisy until early in the morning hours. The people from upstairs allowed their child (we think his name was Stuart) to push the bell every morning on their way out. However, we don't believe this is the fault of the management (maybe the door could be fixed) and everything else was great! We love the location, the professionalism of the Vacations in Paris company and the condo itself is very nice. Thanks again for a wonderful stay - we will be using Vacations in Paris again! We love Vacations in Paris!!!

Comments:This was my 6th time to Paris, my wife's 3rd and our children's first time so we really wanted to make it special for them. The apartments location was perfect! The apartment itself was ideal for our size family and everything was within walking distance, market, grocer, restaurants and cafes and most importantly, the Eiffel Tower and Champs de Mars where we brought the kids every night after supper for a walk to take in the sights! We loved this appartment for giving us the French living experience and we WILL be back again! I will never stay in a hotel in Paris ever again after this wonderful vacation.....Thank you! I've worked for Air Canada for 23 years and my wife is a travel agent here in Moncton NB and we both will be highly recommending this appartment and your business to our friends, family and collegues. Thank you again for all your help planning this trip and accomodating us!!

Comments:Over-all we enjoyed this flat. It was nice not to have to negotiate winding stairs with luggage in tow. The kitchen is very nice and even has an oven. Rare in a vacation flat. The neighborhood was delightful and access to grocery stores and restaurants was excellent. A few issues: The louvers in the street-side shutters are convenient for ventilation without having to open them, but the street light just above floods the flat with light all night. An opaque pull-down shade would be a good idea. The glass security door in the hallway is mis-adjusted and does not close securely on its own. Most of the building residents didn't notice or didn't care. We found it unlocked most of the time. The lock on the apartment door is tricky to operate, especially with the "house" key. It may need adjustment, as well. The bathroom door does not close and latch when the weather is warm and humid. Kids playing soccer in the narrow street with high walls made a huge racket every afternoon even with the double glazed window onto the street shut.

Comments:The apartment was completely as advertised and very clean. We did not, however, have any hot water our first day which we unfortunately did not realize until we were about to shower that first night. The manager came out the next morning and fixed the problem. But it was a bit uncomfortable that first night. The only reason I chose "no" when asked if we would choose this apartment again is that I think next time we would choose a one-bedroom apartment instead of the efficiency/studio. I would certainly use Vacation In Paris again. The instruction booklet in the apartment should be updated, as should the one we were sent prior to our visit. Overall, it was fabulous information. But the directions for the television were wrong and the channels had changed. Another visitor had noted the new channels in the back of the book, which was really helpful. But you all may want to officially update that - it was a little confusing. The customer service at VIP was excellent - I found everyone I communicated with by email very helpful.

Comments:The apartment and location were great. Being so close to the Eiffel Tower and to Rue Cler was excellent. Fresh food from Rue Cler was quick and easy to buy and prepare in the apartment, making dining cheaper. The apartment is a good size for 2, I imagine it would be a tight fit with 4 adults. The small outside balcony was nice also, to escape the hustle and bustle occasionally. The only real improvement that we can find is the linen and towels. Both sheets and towels seemed to be quite old and it would be nice to have some that felt a bit 'fresher'. I certainly understand that this is a rental apartment and not a hotel, but this would have been nice. All in all a positive experience and I would recommend to friends and family. Much cheaper than hotels in the same area. VIP staff were excellent to deal with, prompt responses to emails and a smooth transaction. Keys arrived nice and early prior to departure and key/damage deposit refunded quickly once key received. I will be recommending to family and friends to use VIP when in Paris.

Comments:We had a fantastic time and would recommend the apartment! We would definitely stay again. The door lock was tricky at first , but we got the hang of it finally. Comments:To use the tv and phone were very difficult. He tv would not play any channels and even after the manager came in and fixed it, it only worked for a day before it stopped working again. Also, the telephone kept blinking at us saying there was a message and we were expecting a call and did not know if it was for us and throughout the entire trip we were unable to listen to that message.

Comments:Bed - I really think that that the pillows on the double bed have passed their 'use by' date - very soft and filling not adequate. Suggest prompt replacement. I think that the double bedspread could possibly benefit with a trip to the dry cleaners - it was looking a bit tired. Sheets were clean. Towels were great. Hot water and heating - great. Thank you to whoever had the heating turned on before I arrived- it was wet, windy and cold in Paris that afternoon. Furnishings - lighting was quite low especially for working at the table on my research papers or even reading in bed. I visited the shop to the right in rue Champ de Mars and purchased an inexpensive table/reading lamp and a 40watt bulb which proved adequate. I am more than willing to donate it to the apartment as a thank you. THe TV set decided on the last day that the cable connection didn't work and as I wasn't interested in watching it that night I decided not to bother the manager. Maybe something to do with the renovations? The noise from INSIDE the building came from renovations being carried out in the other ground floor unit. A bit distracting when I was trying to do some work on my university papers - but I managed. Overall - very comfortable with a surprising amount of space to move in - kitchen equipment more than adequate. I left an Aussie coffee mug for future guests to enjoy. Location excellent for Metro and bus travel. Local shopping great. Great that one didn't have to climb stairs and manage luggage to reach the front door of the unit. Great safety and security system for the entry as well. I travelled to Paris by train, catching a taxi from Gare de Lyon which I did not consider to be a luxury, rather a necessity due to the state of the weather. HOWEVER - getting to CDG Airport for return flight to Australia - I worked out a better system than suggested in your information. No coping with steps and long correspondence walks when changing lines.) The TIP is - turn RIGHT from apartment to Grenelle and then LEFT into Bosquet and immediately you will find RATP Bus Stop for the RATP No.92 BUS (cost - one metro ticket - timetable in bus stop shelter) which will take you to Etoile/Mac Mahon - first stop past Arc d' Triumph. Get off bus and walk across street and on the corner at 2 rue Carnot you will see Air France Bus No.2 which goes express to CDG Departures Terminal 1 (cost 15 Euros). Buses leave about every 20 minutes starting at 6.00am daily.Much less expensive than a taxi! Would work just as well getting from CDG to the apartment - just do it in reverse, getting off RATP bus and crossing streets to other side. Once again, thanks for the stay. If I am lucky enough to be chosen to return to Paris by the university here in Bathurst I will most definitely book the Garden Apartment ID 2. Best wishes Ros

Comments:We absolutely loved our apartment and our stay. It definitely felt like we were actually living somewhere, which is probably the reason for many of the around average ratings. Please do not take it as a negative that we rated things around average. The location was our favorite part. We LOVED the location. The space was perfet size. The noise from outside was due to construction that I am sure could not be helped so on another ocassion I'm sure the noise would not be "too much." Also, we understand it was during normal working hours so it really was not a problem or concern, just a comment. The dishes were a bit dirty. We washed everything prior to using it. The shower was clogged and we were standing in 2 inches of water every time we took a shower and worried it would overflow, but the water worked well and other than that, no issues. The apartment was nice and clean, the heat worked well, the space lovely and perfect :) We really did love it. We would absolutely come back to this location or even another in that district. Thank you so much for having a business such as yours. It really makes the vacation feel more authentic. We will most certainly be coming back to you in the future so thank you for taking our thoughts into consideration and for providing us with such a lovely and most perfect stay :)

Comments:Condition of the apartment - I rated this low mainly because the glass security door in the entry hallways rarely closes securely. It has to be pulled hard to close, and then it's difficult to open again. As a result most people did not close the door, so no security! Also, the exterior hallway is filled with peeling paint. I stayed upstairs two years ago and don't recall these issues. And I do understand it's the decision of the building residents to see to this. The beds - this got a 3 because the pillows are simply awful. There are two large bolster pillows that are ok, but the smaller sleeping pillows are just broken lumps of filling in a pillowcase. This can so easily be fixed! It would make a huge difference. The Kitchen. I rated this a three because of the appointments. You can't use both burners at once because the only pan and only pot are too large to be used side-by-side. There was no bread knife, and generally, the appointments are minimally acceptable for two people, much less four persons. Again this can easily be fixed. Linens - We don't recall seeing four full sets of towels - just the two we used (and laundered midway through our stay) There are some very loud neighbors living either upstairs or in the next building. Fortunately they quieted down by midnight on weekends, so it wasn't a big issue. The noise mainly came in through the back windows. Oh - I just remembered - the shower drain is very slow. The shower fills with water quite quickly. In spite of these issues, we loved the apartment and would rent again. But it would be a pleasure to see these things attended to, especially the easy fixes. This is the second time I've rented with your company, and again, it was a very good experience. (I've said so on the Fodors travel forum where I post.) The ability to pay via credit card is a big benefit, and was the reason I chose your company over two others. I will contact you again when I plan to return to Paris - next year, I hope! I also thought the apartment information in the upstairs apartment was more detailed than the red book in the studio.

Comments:Fabulous location and was as pictured. Our only complaint was the pillows were just awful and the bed was not as comfortable as we'd like. The kitchen lights over the stove were burned out and many of the utensils are worn out and should be replaced. Anyone entering or exiting the building goes out right by the door of this apartment and some people are just rude and loud in the middle of the night. Mostly it was quiet and nice and we would stay here again just for the location. It is right around the corner from Rue Cler market street and very close to the Metro stop.

Comments:The beds are in dire need of upgrading. Even though there was three of us, there was no bed linen for the pull out bed. The oven was dirty with crumbs etc so I did not use at all. The towels were very well worn and there was only one drinking glass (plenty of plastic). However, the courtyard, kitchen and location, location, location made for a wonderful holiday. Comments:Thank you for making my lifelong dream of living in Paris a reality, if even for only a week. The neighborhood was adorable, and once i figured out the area, it was easy to get anywhere in the city, between the location and ease of using le metro. I found people friendly, helpful and patient with my petite peu of french and communication was not an issue- not at all what i expected. I am already planning my return trip! Merci. The second key left in the apartment did not work- although the door/lock was a little tricky, once we got the hang of it we were able to get in and out easily (although we only used the set of keys that were mailed to us).

Comments:The apartment could have been a real jewel if there was less clutter. There was no need for bar stools, for example. It should have been marketed to a couple and then the futon/couch that was extremely uncomfortable to use as a couch could have been replaced with something you could actually sit on. Upgrade of linens. A french bistro table on the patio with 2 chairs instead of the tacky plastic set. Everything else was great, a little attention to decorating detail would have mde this apt a delight.
