Comments:Definitely a better space for 2 people and not 3. As others have said, when sleeper sofa is open, there is really little room to move around. Bathroom is too small for a 6', 240 lb. plus guy like me - but all that considered, the location was fantastic. We loved getting up in the am and heading to Rue Cler for breakfast. Easy access to Eiffel Tower, Invalides, great restaurants nearby. The dinner at Tribeca was also terrific (we went back a second night!)and the Boulangerie on Rue Cler had delicious breakfast treats. Get some new pillows and some bigger, softer towels - the few $ you would spend would make the guests happier.

Comments:The noise from the tenants above was disturbing. We could hear their walking and talking and they had late hours. The pillows were not very good but we managed. The shower is really small so it was not very comfortable.Otherwise the apartment was very nice. Taking the noise issue out of the equation we really liked the location and the apartment was well equipped.

Comments:This apartment was EXCELLENT for my two week stay. It was an outstanding location, and it clearly is set up with Americans in thought - the refrigerator is almost embarrassingly large, and the heating and cooling options can keep anyone comfortable. It was everything promised! I was not interested in much tv or movie viewing, but did test out the tv and could not make it work. The phone did provide what I needed, gratefully. And the internet service was very much appreciated!

Comments:This apartment was a great value for our money...the location was fantastic in a quiet neighborhood yet so easy to get to Metro, grocery store, Eiffel Tower. It was a great starting point for our Parisian adventures! The pullout couch was not very comfortable but passable to sleep on. The kitchen was small but had everything we needed to cook for ourselves. The refrigerator being across the room was slightly inconvenient but I don't see any other place to house that fridge.

Comments:The location was excellent (near Rue Cler, the Metro and Eiffel Tower.) The property manager, David, was extremely nice and helpful. The building was very quiet and it also felt very safe. The only thing I would say is that the apartment is really quite small which I know is pretty standard for Paris. I would stay there again but only with a party of 2, possibly 3 but not 4. I will say that I absolutely love this site and have recommended it to many.

Comments:I did not like that we had to drink instant coffee each morning. There should always be a coffee pot that brews coffee in every apartment. That is one of the reasons i get an apt so i can have several cups of coffee in the morning. That for me was a big negative. The directions for opening the door were wrong. It was the opposite of what they said. I figured it out anyway. It was irritating to have 3 security codes to go through but I got used to it after a few days. There should be more consistency when it comes to the instructions for the apartment left by the owners. Perhaps VIP could come up with a format and the owners could fill in the information. There should always be a few recommendations for restaurants close by, a bakery open on Sundays, the closest/best grocery store, etc. I've rented many apartments in Paris and the directions always warn us of being quiet for the French, but it is always our neighbors who are loud....I don't think the younger French generation is as worried about silent neighbors as the older one was. Just a comment.

Comments:An excellent property at an excellent location in Paris. Very close to Ecole Militaire, Champs de Mars and the Eiffel Tower, and the metro. Close to Rue Cler and its many shops: cheese, pate, fois gras, bread, chocolate, macaroons. Though we had a bit of noise one night, in general the apartment was extremely quite. We might not use this property again, but we will certainly use one or more in other areas of Paris, starting in Montmartre.

Comments:The tenants on the above floor were very noisy, I think they knew the apt. was a vacation rental and didn't care. The directions packet for information on opening the apt. door on is in error. it said to turn key counter clockwise which is wrong, key has to turn clockwise. We were completly stumped when we tried and luckily had a cell phone and called david who told us how to correctly unlock the lock. After that it was a breeze.

Comments:My daughter and I were pretty happy overall with the apt. and location. Everything was very convenient what with metro, busses and taxis right outside the door. Also felt safe inside the apt. Rue Cler is a great area--good restaurants and shopping. Upstairs was quiet loud a couple of times, but I don't think most people are aware what it sounds like underneath them. I had a feeling it is a young couple couple living up there. Anyway it wasn't a big deal. Just thank you for the cool apt. It was most enjoyable!

Comments:We like to cook. I understand the difficulty in providing high-end kitchen equipment in a vacation rental unit like this. Our instructions request that we replace any items, like wine glasses, that we broke. We didn't break any, but over the years a pretty motley collection of mismatched glasses has accumulated. There were no sharp knives, and a difficult coffee maker. I am dismayed at the lack of preventive measures for fire. I could see no sign of any fire alarm, smoke alarm, carbon monoxide detector, fire extinguisher, or emergency exit route. This is an old building, and access is by a narrow winding wooden stairwell.

Yes, the sofa bed was pretty awful to sit on; yes, the bedroom floor definitely sloped; yes the stairs up and down were tricky; and we were only 2 people and quite small, so not sure how 4 would ever have The dishwasher was pretty much on the nose - I don't think it had been used for a while. Not a problem for us as we didn't need to use it. Just a heads' up! Also, the freezer was chockers with ice - no room for anything else.

Comments:We had a really good experience. The apartment was small, but we knew it would be. Location was ideal, and we were very comfortable. It was nice to have the free phone service to the US. We didn't think we would use it, but we ended up having to call our home voicemail and our bank. Being able to do that directly from the flat without dealing with pay phones or phonecards was definitely a plus! The only problem we had was that the TV didn't work. After communicating with Morgan we figured out that the modem/cable box wasn't working and would need to be replaced. That couldn't be done while we were in Paris. You might want to double-check the instructions for unlocking this apartment. My memory may be faulty, but I am pretty sure we had to turn the key the opposite way from what the instructions said. I think too that the instructions for the dishwasher might be improved. We only tried to use it once and the dishes didn't get clean so after that we did them by hand. There was a reference to salt in the instructions, but no real information about what to do with it or how much to add, etc.

Comments:The noise inside the building was largely from the top floor owner arriving and leaving at odd hours. As I'm sure you know the floors are very noisy, and she was not light footed! I can't say that this was not expected, but it was an irritant. It would have been nice to have more than 6 of each knife/fork/spoon. Overall though, the apartment was great - we got it for the neighborhood, and the neighborhood remains outstanding.

Comments:The apartment was very clean and the location was perfect for us. And, the instructions were right on! Our only reason for not using the apartment again were the 4 flights of stairs we had to climb on a daily basis; especially on arrival and departure with luggage. While we were aware of the stairs before booking, we misjudged the actual number of stairs and the steepness. Those stairs and luggage are not meant for each other! We are happy to use Vacations in Paris for future trips.

Comments:The floor in the apartment was sticky, I use an eco friendly floor product on my wood yoga studio floor and this could be used to clean it. The noise in the apartment was due to the floors being wood and no insulation between the suites. No one tried to make extra noise but you could hear your neighbor above and below you. I found myself still whispering when I returned home...I cleaned above the kitchen cabinets (very dirty) but could not reach above the closet/fridge cabinet to clean there, that should be done. Should we book with you again we would take more care with soundproof accommodations and cleanliness.

Comments:The noise is out of your control so I don't hold that against the property. We had been told to be very quiet so we tried hard to be, but people across the courtyard held a party late one night, and the woman who lives above had a long screaming/sobbing match with someone one night, then she talked SO loudly on the phone the other night. The bathroom was unexpectedly nice for such a small place! The doors into the building from the street and also into the second building past the courtyard were almost always unlocked.

Comments:The bed was fine; the pillows were very lumpy. The coffee pot did not work well (took a very long time and did not make the coffee hot). There was some interior noise, I suspect from the apt below us. Our biggest concern was the small size (and odd layout) of the space. For that reason, I would not recommend this apt without emphasizing this aspect. Overall it was a very good experience but we were dismayed at how small it was. We would love to rent another apartment from you another time, but we would want something larger. In retrospect, your information was accurate but this was our first apt rental. We will be more attentive next time.

Comments:My ability to access the laundry area was hit-and-miss, and the space was being used for storage to the point I could not stash my luggage without moving stuff around. Fortunately, I had a "hit" when I went to get the luggage out, but a "miss" just a few minutes later. I was able to do laundry once. Also, the house keys were not in the apartment. It wasn't an issue because my sister did not want to leave without me. I would not use the apartment again, although I would recommend it to a younger person. I have stairs at home, so the daily up/down is not an issue for me, but trying to get the luggage up 48 steps was difficult, especially since my sister couldn't carry anything. The lock to the storage/laundry area really needs to be fixed so that one can consistently open the door. Had I not been able to get my luggage out, I'd have had to call the manager the night before we were to leave. I really appreciate your excellent service: everyone is courteous and prompt to follow through. This is my 3rd stay, but 4th apartment (1st trip was with 5 other family members so we had 2 apartments) and I've never been disappointed. BRANCH OUT TO OTHER EUROPEAN LOCATIONS!!!!

Also, you might tell prospective renters that the air conditioner ONLY works for the bedroom, not the entire apartment. Luckily, the temperature dropped from 89 degrees.

Comments:The refrigerator's freezer was iced up, so we didn't use it. But the 'fridge seemed to work OK. The air conditioner in the bedroom worked well at first. When we changed the humidifier tank, however, the exhaust hose came out of the wall, and we couldn't get it back in to stay. The nights were cool enough, however, that we were comfortable. The laundry room was not really available for luggage storage, because several rolled carpets are stored there. We did use the washer and dryer a few times, but did not anticipate being advised not to use them early in the morning or after 9 at night. Often, we were not in the apartment during times when we were advised to use these appliances. We very much appreciated the Wi-fi service and the free telephone calls to the United States. And the apartment's location was ideal--easy walk to the Metro, to a grocery store and cafes, to shopping on Rue Cler, and to the Tour Eiffel, Ecole Millitaire, and Invalides. We would recommend VIP to others who want to save money on meals and live like a local. Thanks so much for a wonderful week!

Comments:The apartment was not set up for four as we had requested. When we called the on site manager the next day, it was quickly addressed. As for some of the other scores: I'm not a neat freak but even I would say that apartment needs a deep cleaning. It was dusty and I'm not sure the rugs had been vacuumed. The pillows need updating. For the most part, these are small things but they are the things that would have moved some of the scores to above ave. or outstanding. As for the outside noise, someone was shooting of firecrackers or something like it (in the courtyard) on two different nights. More than once these went off right outside our apartment window. Over the weekend some people were having a party rather late as well. The knives were all quite dull - small thing, but noticeable. Also, the in-apartment information book needs an update: it says there are two AC units, when there is only one (and we only expected one), and the book references "these instructions" for opening the sofa bed, but there are none. We just guessed right. That's it for complaining - overall, we were very happy and would definitely recommend both the apartment on the VIP service to others. The manager and the office staff in the US were very helpful. We have not done a short-term apartment rental before this trip. We would certainly do it again. We enjoyed the flexibility of having our own place, being able to cook and having more space than a hotel room.

Comments:Once again, terrific! If you are looking for quiet--this is the apartment. It was also great to have a real washer and dryer. Next time, I've decided I'm bringing a rope to Paris, just to qualm my fears about the no fire escapes in old buildings. . . Merci beaucoup to everyone.

Comments:Did not like feather pillows (too soft and mushy). Floors creaked rather loudly which made moving around the apt. seems rather awkard esp. when leaving for the airport at 6a.m. No bowls for us cereal eaters. Time restrictions on using washer and dryer were bothersome-as we were out all day and would like to do laundry at night. "Wide gentle stairs" in description seems a bit misleading. These are minor things--overall the apt. was clean and the bathroom quite good. The location (which is the reason I chose this apt.) was Fabulous. We had a great stay, Thanks. There seemed to be some sort of "electrical event" taking place between the T.V. and the light fixture over the table. Occasionally there would be a flash of light behind the T.V. and a flash of light at the light fixture-like some sort of arcing. Once in middle of night light fixture flashed on and off. Don't know if this needs to be checked out.

Comments:The instructions on how to open the front door were incorrect. I believe they said to turn to the right and you had to turn the key to the left. We had to call the apartment manager who was very nice and gave the correct instructions. Otherwise, the instructions and information given before we left about the apartment were very complete and helpful. Overall, we were very pleased with everything about your company. We will definitely be in-touch in the future for other rentals. We have recommended you already to our daughter (who has booked an apartment for November with you) and to other relatives.

Comments:Our first impression of the apartment was "oh, what have we done". However, after we poked around and found all of the little things that make a place comfortable we were OK with it. The bed was very comfortable with the exception of the pillows which were sort of sad. Everything worked very well and we enjoyed having the kitchen available to us and the location was quite nice. There was some paint peeling here and there and the base boards could use a good cleaning but otherwise all was well. We did experience some significant noise from the individual who lived upstairs (it is my thought that they didn't get the memo about how quiet the french are) at rather unfortunate times -3:15 and 5:30 AM. Fortunately for us they were only there on the weekend. Your service was wonderful, the wine was delightful and your instructions about every detail could not have been better. I most certainly will consider renting through your service again but probably not this apartment. Apart from the noise we really missed the access to outdoor space. You all did an amazing job and I have already been looking for other apartments with a friend who will be traveling to France in June.

Comments:Nice apartment. Did not remember that it had two twin beds instead of a queen, but I don't remember checking that closely. Didn't affect our enjoyment of the apartment. Very convenient to the Metro station, the Eiffel Tower, and on a quiet street. In all, a very enjoyable experience.

Comments:We enjoyed our stay very much. However, this apartment is not for someone who has mobility problems. it is on the 3rd floor of a steep, narrow staircase. I thought the instructions in the apartment and beforehand were a little over the top, but I realize not everyone is an experienced travel and considerate of others like we were.

Comments:VIP went above and beyond to ensure my stay in Paris was a wonderful one. I can't thank your staff (especially Jan) for doing everything in their power to accomodate my fiancee and myself. The apartment was wonderful and there were so many little touches that we appreciated and took advantage of during our stay. Thank you!

Comments:We were able to ask the cleaning person for extra towels otherwise if we hadn't been able to it would have been inconvenient given the length of our stay. The wifi connection was a nice feature but the signal wasn't very strong. We couldn't get a connection. It might be helpful to people considering the apartment to know that there is a large grocery store just around the corner plus a whole foods market. We found this very convenient.

Comments:Why would anyone ever stay in a hotel in Paris with an apartment with this location, quality, and value (and air-conditioning!) available?! We loved it!! We sent the kids out every morning to get fresh croissants around the corner -- luxury!

Comments:the apt was pretty small for 4 people, but that was as advertised. I wouldn't use the apartment again for 4 people, but would for 2. The shower curtain in the bathroom was a pain, and the sink in there was mighty small. But overall, a very positive experience. I recommend clearer instructions for the washer. I can't remember if this was there or not, but a small map of the immediate area would be nice, to indicate where the supermarket is, and a couple of local bakeries.

Comments:There was noise late in the evening one night from the courtyard below - 11pm or later. We understand about airconditioning in France - and we were there during an unusually hot time. But the unit in the bedroom gave off more heat because of the venting tube to the outside than cool air for the inside....and to make things worse, the fan provided did not work. Perhaps the plug on it was not compatible with the wall outlet. The hair dryer provided did not work either, but other appliances worked in those outlets. I/We would only use the apt. for two people. 3-4 is not comfortable.

Comments:EXTREMELY SMALL--HAD TO PUT THE SUITCASE ON THE COUCH---WHICH WAS COVERED WITH A THROW. THE CLOCK WAS NOT WORKING (I PUT IN A BATTERY I HAD BROUGHT), THERE WERE ONLY 2 WINE GLASSES---ONE WAS CRACKED. THE INSTRUCTION ON HOW TO ENTER THE DOOR WAS INCORRECT---YOU TURN THE KEY OPPOSITE THE WAY INSTRUCTED (IT TOOK US A WHILE TO ENTER AND WE WERE VERY TIRED). THERE WAS NO CONVERTER IN THE ROOM AS STATED BY THE BOOK INSIDE. THE STAIRS WERE A KILLER ESPECIALLY WITH LUGGAGE. OVERALL IT WAS OK BUT WE WOULD LOOK FOR A LARGER PLACE NEXT TIME AND ONE WITH A VIEW. WE WOULD USE VACATION IN PARIS AGAIN. YOU WERE GREAT. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.

Comments:We were VERY happy with the apartment, but MORE impressed with how we were treated with our unusual circumstances being stuck in Paris because of the "volcano" situation. You were very prompt with helping us resolve our dilemma. We felt confident that you would find "something" for us. Thus making a stressful situation MUCH less stressful. Thank you so much for all of your prompt help. Everyone we communicated with was very kind and proactive. We will be posting a "glowing" report on Trip Advisor. We are VERY satisfied with your business. Keep up the good work!

Comments:We are a family of three and the apartment was a bit of a squeeze. It would have been perfect for 2 people. The only thing I wish was present in this apartment was a rap around counter from the kitchen to the living room like the one in apartment 181. The only reason we would not book this apartment was we found it just a bit too small for our family. We would definitely book with VIP again!

Comments:When we arrived it was very cold in the apartment, and took literally 24 hours with the heat on full to bring up the temperature to a comfortable level. We felt that since the caretaker knew we were arriving, the heat could have been turned on earlier in the day. The bathroom: there was only 1 extra roll of toilet paper, for 1 week (2 women :). We purchased more and left it there. The shower curtain is placed so far forward and with a gap of several inches from the bottom of the curtain, that it is impossible to shower without the floor becoming wet. Perhaps the curtain could be re-positioned, or replaced with a door? Though the apartment was generally clean and well laid out for the space available, it felt impersonal. Even a few prints on the walls would have made for a warmer and more friendly atmosphere in the place we called "home" for a week. We had chosen this apartment because the double bed could be made into twins. We arrived to a double bed, and since it was quite late, could not have that changed. However once we were able to contact the concierge for a change it was done right away the next day. . We tried and tried, but we could not get the coffee machine to produce steam for milk, even though both of us have experience with the type of coffee machine in the kitchen. We think it is defective on the "espresso" side. All in all the apartment was very adequate Thank you for your great service, we had a wonderful week!
