Comments:Could not ask for a better location than Rue Vavin...truly! A genuine French neighborhood with a great vibe, a laid back, everything-you-need-is-a-2-minute-walk-away setting, while charming and un-touristy. Fantastic. Many thanks! I don't think a bottle

Comments:This was our first time staying in this property and we would definitely stay there again. It's a block from one of the entrances to the Luxembourg Gardens, which are absolutely stunning. It is in a quiet but thriving neighborhood - not too many tourists, mostly locals which made it more enjoyable. Fabulous bakery right across the street, very good cafe (Cafe Vivan) a few doors away, grocery store (Franprix) right around the corner, several wine shops right there, other local clothing stores also right there (we were there in early August so all the sales were going on). Several close by subway stops, and Montparnasse and all it's offerings are a few short blocks away. The apartment overlooks a courtyard so it is very quiet at night, you can sleep with the windows open and there were no bugs!. There is a portable air conditioner, which we used once, but the weather was very cooperative and we really didn't need it. As is the case with most Paris apartments, the kitchen is small, but fully equipped. The 2 bedrooms were very comfortable and we slept well; there's also a sleeper sofa in the LR but we didn't use it. The building is very secure and has a small elevator that can hold 2 people at a time. The property manager was terrific; English is her native language although her French is perfect too! She contacted us before we arrived and was there to greet us on arrival day. She showed us the apartment and all its workings and then walked us around the neighborhood to familiarize us with everything. She called us the day of our departure to make sure we had had no problems. She also has prepared a notebook with directions on how to use the appliances and local phone numbers for taxis, doctors, etc. The only criticism I have is that we packed light so we would have no checked bags, knowing there was a washing machine/dryer in the apartment. It's a single unit in the kitchen that does both, and while the washing part worked well, the dryer took a long time; however, there is a laundromat very close by as an alternative. Also, there is a single bath towel and 2 hand towels for each occupant so if you need a fresh bath towel during your stay, you either have to live with the one you have or wash it and wait for it to dry! These were VERY MINOR items about our stay - I highly recommend this property. Need help? Comments:We stayed here for a month and felt quite local as it is not a touristy area. Very convenient food shopping and the kitchen was fine for cooking family meals for four.. It is a bit of a distance from the Seine and major sites but was in a quiet, upscale neighborhood so we were happy with the choice. The Luxembourg Gardens became our backyard, and we either walked or took metro to sites depending on need for exercise. The only downside was the heavy footed person in the apartment above, but she kept normal sleeping hours.

Comments:This was the second time my friends and I stayed in this apartment. We will most likely be back next year. We love the location and the comfort of having our own space. The only suggestion I have is to maybe add a wardrobe to the second bedroom so you can hang some clothing. This however was a very minor inconvenience. Overall we had a wonderful time in Paris and enjoyed the apartment very much. The friend I come to visit happens to be a personal tour guide and he has recommended the apartment to many of his clients. See you next year!

Comments:This apartment is beautiful and in an excellent location! Several metro stations and an RER station with direct service to CDG airport are all within a few blocks of the apartment. There is a grocery store around the corner, a couple bakeries and pastry shops within a block of the apartment, a cafe across the street, and many other shops and restaurants within a couple blocks. And so many Paris sights are within walking distance of the apartment. The apartment is spacious. We ate most breakfasts and dinners at the apartment. We appreciated the walk around the neighborhood with the apartment manager at the start of our stay. I will recommend VIP to others.

Comments:Paris is normally under-plumbed - but in the bathroom:_ a) Shower curtain should EITHER be shortened OR the pole that it sits on raised. As it is it currently set up it represents a real slipping hazard to any shower-user. Before long there will be a nasty fall. In addition there was water leaking from the pee-trap under the sink. Bedroom:- b) Mattress on the bed in the main bedroom is worn out and so was soggy in the extreme. Needs replacing. Very quiet, private, light and airy apartment. We loved the location and felt most comfortable here. Thank you.

Comments:This apartment is in an ideal location. Far from the tourist area yet close enough to walk to the Seine. Great transportation connections. Luxembourg Gardens a half block away and neighborhood you could spend the entire week exploring with easy access to grocers, boulangeries, marche, fromagier, and butcher. Lots of cafes and terrific ambience. Safe to walk at any time of night. The kitchenette is tiny, basic but with a full size fridge met all our needs for coffee and baguettes or a cheese plate with wine. Bath is roomy with a hairdryer and all the necessary items. Separate WC was a plus. Towels are flimsy and one set per person for 7 days. Though there is a small washer/dryer combo that is a challenge to operate and takes approximately 3 hours! C'est la vie! Bedrooms provided plenty of storage and the beds were adequate but again the linens left a bit to be desired. The living area is roomy enough that 4 adults were comfortable and it's light and airy as well. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would return. We have stayed in the Latin Quarter and the Marais on previous visits, both of them have their charms but we think this may be the neighborhood we return to on subsequent visits.

Comments:We loved the apartment on Rue Vavin. The apartment is light filled, the furnishings are comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. We were warmly welcomed by the property manager who took us on a short walk around the neighbourhood to get us acquainted with the area. We would love to return to the same apartment for our next trip to Paris. Our holiday in Paris was enhanced by our stay in one of the most beautiful and interesting parts of Paris.

Comments:As my niece said, our vacation in Paris was "magnificent". Much of that was due to the wonderful apartment we had. I was very impressed with all the help I received from "Vacation In Paris", when booking a place to stay. All the women that help me find this apartment were very nice and very helpful. Thank you for all your help. We would not have had such a great time in Paris without you.

Comments:We had a great time and part of it was, because of the apartment we rented. The location was great, very convenient 2 metro stations for different trains very close. Jardin des Luxemburg is a great asset, nice strols or picnic place at the end of a busy day. Close by lots of great restaurants that worth the try, a small neighborhood grocery store, that has almost everything you may need, cheese places, bakery, fruit store and one of the best ice cream places around.

Comments:The location of this sparkling apartment was superb and we would go back tomorrow! All mod cons.in working order. Although tiny, the lift was adequate. The manager came and thoughtfully set up an air-conditioner for us when it became warm. The attention to detail and the care shown by the staff at Vacations in Paris was excellent. Thankyou.

Comments:The main problem with this property was the stairs. It was really hard to negotiate the narrow stairs to the front door with luggage. There are many stairs in the village that can also be a problem. Parking is also a problem. We were able to wait and find parking but it was an inconvience and we had to always feed the meter. There was noise from the nearby restaurant at night. The unit was advertised as having double pained windows but it did not seem to help.

Comments:Information received from VIP: (1) The one-page map that we received from VIP stated that the nearest metro was Vavin, but the metro that was highlighted on the map wasn't Vavin - it was Notre-Dame des Champs. This could confuse a new arrival, if they took the metro to Vavin, and thought that they were exiting the metro at the point highlighted on the map. They'd turn right, thinking they were walking towards the apartment - but they'd actually be walking away from it. Also, Vavin isn't the closest metro - Notre Dame des Champs is slightly closer.(2) At the time of booking I noticed that VIP had marked "1 bed". I queried this, and was told by VIP at the time of booking that, as only 2 of us were staying in the apartment, only 1 bed (the double bed) would be made up, and towels etc would be limited, "to save on linen". This made no sense to me - after all, we pay the same no matter if 2, 3 or 4 people are there - why should we have 2 unusable beds, and fewer towels? Also, our daughter was in Europe, and planned to spend a night or two with us. On the advice of VIP we stated that the rental was for 3 people; VIP told me that this was the only way to ensure we'd have sufficient towels, beds made up, etc. I asked the owner about this when we met him at the apartment, and he said that VIP was wrong - that they always prepare ALL beds, and leave adequate towels etc. Maybe you should touch bases with him about this. Or why not just always indicate "3 renters", to ensure that the full complement of linens are provided? Beds: double bed comfy, single beds very small for average-sized adult. Noise: I'm sure it is temporary, but at about 8AM each weekday there was a dreadfully loud drilling/hammering noise through the walls - someone must be doing some renovations in a nearby apartment. Kitchen: We arrived on a Sunday, clothes needing washed after a humid time in Venice, but there was no washing powder, and all the nearby stores were closed. Furthermore, the instructions in the apartment state that the visitor must be careful to use only the correct type of powder in the washing machine; dire warnings indicate that using the incorrect powder can destroy the machine. Why not just PROVIDE the correct powder? That would make life easier for new arrivals, and it would safeguard the machine! In all honesty, I'd rather have had the washing powder than the (inexpensive) bottle of wine ! We stayed in #123 ~8-10 years ago, and again a few months back. We'd certainly stay there again - it's a nice neighborhood, and close to everything (including the Jardin du Luxembourg, which is beautiful).

Comments:Overall it was a great location, a bit away from the more tourist area but an easy walk to the Metro and Montparnasse train station. Good restaurants in the area and plenty of other shops for food etc. The quiet neighborhood was very nice. One thing that we did discover on this trip, the tenth time in Paris, was the increased usage of "micro chips" on credit cards. A nuber of stores required them on your card for purchases.

Comments:We had a wonderful stay at 14 rue Vavin. The apartment was comfortable and felt like home in no time at all. The kitchen was well equipped and efficient. The building itself was very quiet, and the neighbourhood was perfect, with food shops, restaurants, cafes and patisseries close by. Luxembourg Gardens is so beautiful, and minutes away so we could enjoy walking there every day. We booked our airport transfers from the airport with the company that you recommend on your website. We had a lot of trouble with their service and it caused us quite a bit of stress, particularly on the return trip. They refunded our money without any problem but thought you should know that we did not find their service reliable. Otherwise, this was a perfect vacation. We would definitely book with VIP again!

Comments:We loved the apartment, loved the neighborhood. The experience was wonderful all the way from my first email then phone conversations with the folks in the U.S to my correspondence with the apartment agent in France, to the stay in the apartment. I was really nervous about using an online company to get an apartment in a foreign country, but from the outset, the professionalism of the people at VIP put my mind at ease. I was very impressed with how helpful and friendly everyone was there. Many thanks.

Comments:Terrific location: great neighborhood with many shops and restaurants. Close to the Jardin du Luxembourg and quick access to two different metro lines - a real plus. We appreciated the apartment's layout and overall spaciousness, especially the living room area for relaxing at the end of the day. Everything was clean upon arrival, and it was nice and quiet for sleeping at night. Kitchen was small but very well-equipped. Roomy tub with shower option and sink were fine. The only slight problem for four people was that the toilet recovered very slowly after flushing and seemed to run for a long time - surprising because the general water pressure in the apartment was excellent. We loved thinking of 14 rue Vavin as "our home" for the week! This is the second time I've used your service, and all has gone well both times. No more hotels for me when I'm in Paris! Renting an apartment is by far the superior option, and I will use your company again. I've already recommended you to others and will continue to do so. Merci for another wonderful week in the City of Light.
