Comments:The condition of the exterior of the building, especially courtyard and view from the window was not that great - it gave us a low first impression. Once we were in the apartment and settled a bit, we felt better. There was no bottle of wine for us. The fan is not powerful enough on hot nights. The closet did not seem to make sense - was not big enough for 2 or 3 people - maybe a large dresser would work better? Great to have a washer and dryer - maybe simple English instructions could be left on top. The location is great.

Directions on how to fold the couch out into a bed would be a helpful addition to the instruction book. Also, the floor lamp in the living room was wobbly and should be checked. Comments:Cigarette smoke from the apartments below wafted up to our windows. Since it was warm outside we wanted the windows opened. We did use the floor fan to move air around and that helped. The sheets had little tiny balls (a pilled up area) that was not too nice to feel. We enjoyed the various guide books in the apartment. Since we were warned ahead of time that the stairs are difficult to manage, it was not a surprise. However there is also unevenness to some of them that is risky. Thank goodness the lights are on sensors now so that helped. Please delete the reference to the complimentary bottle of wine from the apartment description. The guest journal in the apartment has several people commenting that the wine was not there as promised.

I liked being in the oldest part of the city, however, I found it a little too touristic and would choose a quieter location next time. I think many other people would like this location, and you can get into a more local, residential area pretty quickly. The apt. was quiet; we did not hear street noise.

Comments:bathroom could use a bit of an update: just shower which had some mold and showing its age. Bathroom tiles need a good scrub as there was quite a bit of what looked like biological fluids and my husband killed quite a few silverfish during the night. Everything in the bathroom worked very well and was an excellent size for us. This apartment was beyond great for us. This was our first trip to Europe so we were a little anxious, but we were quickly at ease. My son and his wife stayed in this unit a few years back so we knew basically what to expect. I do believe that we are a bit spoiled for the rest of Europe, Paris is really set up for tourists. From the apartment, we were able to walk and walk and found new little gems around every corner. We used the bateau bus for two days to get to the more distant sights and to take a tour of the Seine at night - great value. The 6 day Paris Museum pass was another great value. We packed a lot in from your great location on rue saint Jacques. Being a history buff, I loved the idea of living in the oldest part of Paris, and in this lovely apartment with its old looking door and winding staircase. Comments:Overall, our experience in this studio apartment and with Vacation in Paris was terrific. The studio is in the most convenient location to walk anywhere in Paris or get to the metro. Everything worked well and was exactly as we expected. We were so comfortable there that we opted to stay an extra night. Fortunately it was available and were easily able to set this up with VIP within 20 minutes.

Comments:The property is excellent and comfortable. The neighbours across the way did play loud music until late but we were tired enough to sleep and it wasn't a great problem for us. That being said it would probably annoy others. We did find the television a little difficult to operate but as we were out and about most of the time we didn't persevere with it. The internet connection was excellent. The apartment is excellent. A great location and well kept. The only minor quibble we had was that the cleaner was still in the apartment after the appointed time for us to check in. We left our bags and came back an hour later and all was fine. It wasn't really a problem for us. Thankyou and we hope to return again one day.

We enjoyed the size of the apartment, accept the kitchen and bathroom...we had o plunge the shower so it would drain, and there was a foul smell. Also had trouble finding places to dry out our clothing after using he washer, it would be nice to have a drying rack. We have stayed in 3 of you Paris apartments, and although it wasn't our favorite place, it was in the best area. So that makes up for any downside! Than you! Comments:Here is a list of things that were NOT to our satisfaction: 1) The pillows were abominable -- they had no shape or support for your head -- but the mattress was fine, thankfully. 2) The trash can in the kitchen had a broken foot pedal so you had to open it by hand. 3) There was insufficient amount of toilet paper in the bathroom, so we had to buy more. 4) The inside of the refrigerator was not properly cleaned. 5) The shower head did not hang the way it was designed, so had to be pushed back all the way to the wall in order to keep it up, which subsequently caused the water stream to be off center. 6) Drainage in the shower was poor; we had to keep the water at a low level in order to assist with drainage. 7)The table lamp was missing a bulb,so lighting was insufficient in the apartment. We could not find a replacement bulb anywhere. 8) The wall sconce did not have a bulb either. Between both of these lighting inadequacies, the apartment was even darker than it could have been, and since it's only window was to an internal courtyard, it was dark to begin with. 9) There was no information in the apartment manual on where/how to turn on the light in the spiral staircase leading to the apartment. Subsequently we had to use our phone flashlight apps in order to climb up the stairs in the evenings (the lumiere button at the entrance did not light up the stairwell leading to our apartment, only the common area prior to our stairwell). This was a common complaint in the guest book at the apartment, so I know we were not the only ones that had this issue. A/C is not common in France, so it is not a reasonable expectation for the apartment to have it. However, without the fan that was provided, the apartment would not have been habitable in July. We were advised by Parisian friends of ours to keep the blinds closed during the day and open the windows at night, which is what we did, though doing so created a bit of a privacy issue. Even with the fan, our last night in the apartment was intolerable due to the heat. On a positive note, the location of the apartment was really the best aspect of it. It was very convenient as a base of operations by all transportation methods.

Comments:The studio was in a very lively neighborhood and accessible to many restaurants and entertainment, and we would defintely stay in that neighborhood again. While the apartment itself was clean and comfortable, the entry to the apartment building was unwelcoming. While I would not recommend this specific property to a friend travleing with family, it would be a more appropriate choice to a young person looking to be in an active neighborhood. I would definetly recommend this service to others traveling to Paris. The staff was friendly accommodating and easy to work with and made the planning process very easy.

We did not have a flashlight to carry, but there were 3 of us and it was difficult at night. I would recommend the location but not the unit due to the darkness of the stairwell and apt.entrance. A unit on the higher floor above did have a light! Maybe an option would be sensor lights at night that turn on as you climb the winding staircase.

Comments:The towel warmer kept turning on when the last thing we needed was any heat. The main difficulty we experienced was that there were three extremely warm (90+) days and the apartment was almost unbearable because of a lack of any air current and all the bedding is designed for winter use. Except for those three things, we couldn't have been happier with the apartment. If we returned to Paris we might look for a different apartment only for the chance to be in a different neighborhood, not because of the apartment.

Comments:We had an amazing time in Paris and the apartment contributed significantly to that. It was in perfect condition when we arrived and the location could not have been better. The apartment was extremely quiet the entire time, you could not hear anything from the street at all. Getting the suitcases up and down the stairs was quite the adventure. I knew it was a walkup, but was not prepared for a winding narrow uneven staircase. That would be difficult at best for an older person. Your description on the web site should probably make that more clear. Really enjoyed being in the Latin Quarter, would stay there again in an instant. I thought it was very good value for the money. I would absolutely use VIP again if we ever go back to Paris and in fact have recommended you to a couple of people since our return. Your recommendation of the car service to pick and and return to CDG was great. Our driver was on time both ways, very friendly and helpful. Much better than trying to navigate the RER. Speaking of the RER, the St. Michael station near the apartment is currently closed. Had we tried the ride the RER to the apartment we would have had significant problems. Not sure how you can keep up with that to notify renters, but that would have been a major issue as we were first time visitors.

Comments:We had a great stay and good location. I would make 2 suggestions. Tell the renters to put a small flash light on the key chain before they leave home. I did and it came in very handy because our train was 1 1/2 hours late and we got there in the dark, and had I not had a flash light it would have been difficult to see up the stairs. The other thing was we could have used better English instructions for the washer/dryer. The Paris books in the Apt. were very usefull.

Comments:The shower head was loose and flopped downward. Everything was small, but very adequate. It was a bit difficult getting into the refrigerator, since the door opened from the wrong direction and the metal garbage can always hit into the wall each time it was opened making a loud clang. The location was absolutely perfect with its proximity to restaurants, markets, metros, and desirable sights. The stairs may be an issue for someone that is older or has mobility issues, so that perhaps should be explained more clearly. Your directions were extremely helpful and everything went so smoothly. We enjoyed it immensely. The only minor complaint is that I didn't feel some of the extra fees were explained that well up front, i.e. short stay fee ($75) and the other $29 fee.

Comments:The apt. was a little oasis in the heart of a bustling city. After a long day of travel we were looking forward to that welcome bottle of wine. Disapointed there was none! The cover on the studio cot seemed a bit worn soiled. The circular staircase makes it a bit hard to know what floor you are really on. It would be helpful to know in advance there is a plaque with the apt. # on the door. We unfortunately bothered people at the wrong door! Comments:Overall, we were very comfortable here and it was a wonderful apartment. It was clean and in a fantastic location. This is the second apartment we rented from you and we were very happy. A few small suggestions: it would be helpful to have a dish net/drainer so there is a good place to put washed, wet dishes. The alarm clock was totally broken when we got there, but it did not seem worth calling the apartment manager since we had our own clocks. It was hard to figure out how to use the washing machine and dryer, even with the instructions we were given. Also, it would be great to have a small drying rack for clothes. Your documents about the apartment and getting oriented in Paris are excellent. However, it would be great to warn people who are coming without a key, who must call the manager, that it is VERY hard to find a pay phone once you leave an airport/train station. We called the manager to arrange a meeting time once we got to the train station. Since he did not answer, we left a message and then decided to call again once we got to the neighborhood of the apartment. At this point it was very hard to find a phone. Someone at a cafe let us use their phone. Another suggestion could be to tell renters of the apartment to give the phone number of the pay phone and wait for some minutes in case the manager can call back to the pay phone soon. This would have been helpful information and was probably the most stressful part of the arrangements. Another concern about the apartment: the stairway from the courtyard to the apartment is DARK. There are not enough dimly lit buttons to press to adequately light the stairway. This seems like a safety concern. It could be good to put in your directions that the door to the apartment actually has "100" written on it and a small plaque that says "100" (I think). This makes it easy to know you've found the right apartment. I found out about you from the internet, but then two different parties that I know recently used your apartments and had great success, so I felt confident in proceeding with your company. Otherwise, the internet options for renting apartments in Paris was overwhelming.

Comments:Overall, the location and apartment were great. Plenty of room for the three of us and plenty of closet space and hangers(we were a group of three females). Lots of good restaurants in the area for those that want to eat close to home. Some suggestions: the apartment could use a good cleaning(under/around the furniture and in the cabinets). It was "surface" clean when we arrived but there were some things that could have benefitted from a more thorough cleaning. Another suggestion would be to add the name of a taxi company to the apartment information. We used Alpha Taxi to get back to the airport. While the original plan was to take the RER since it is close to the apartment we bought too much stuff to lug on the RER. Alpha was prompt and cost for both trips(we departed on different days) was about 50E.

The switch to the stairway light is broken and creates a dangerous situation after dark (there was a flash light in the apartment though). Don't know why the refrigerator open the wrong way, facing the wall since the hinges are usually reversible and very easily. Your service was outsatnding, the apartment was a great value and offered exactly what was important to us: comfortable bed, good water pressure and reliable internet. Thank you for everything.

Comments:great location, a little challenging to climb the steep narrow stairs to the 4th floor especially with suitcases, rear courtyard location ideal for avoiding street noise, especially at night. All in all, a cozy little apartment for the price. we avoided using the chair next to the table because it is coming apart and needs some wood glue. Need better instructions for TV; when you turn it on it says to scan channels. Nowhere on the remote is there a button to do that.

Comments:We had an absolutely amazing time, and the apartment was what we expected. There was kind of a funny smell coming from the kitchen - there was some old coffee and things above the sink and I think that was where it was coming from. I threw a few things that looked really old away and it got better, but never totally went away. Also, we never did get the satellite TV to work. Not sure what was wrong but it wasn't really a big deal because it was a romantic vacation and we didn't really need it. We had the best vacation of our lives. The reservation process was easy, we received our keys with no problem, the instructions were clear, and the apartment was a GREAT value. The location was absolutely unbeatable. Notre Dame is a 2 minute walk and the Latin Quarter is practically your backyard. There are tons and tons of great little restaurants nearby, as well as a few little markets for whatever food you want. We loved the neighborhood and spent hours just wandering around. It feels really safe and not overly touristy, despite the close proximity of some big tourist spots. The apartment was just what we expected (but the location was even better than I expected!) and it was perfect for a very romantic vacation. My boyfriend and I got engaged on this trip, so we plan to come back every few years for our anniversary. We loved it, and we'll remember it forever! Thanks for a great stay!

Comments:It was absolutely amazing. We loved it. Perfect location, very quiet in the apartment. Everything was clean and ready for us. We were also very impressed by all the things that came with the apartment, like the hair dryer, the dishes, all the amenities were provided; and it was very nice. We felt right at home, and we couldn't have asked for anything better. We will definitely be using Vacations in Paris again every time we go. We loved it and we will be highly recommending it to anyone we know who is going to Paris!

Comments:We were very happy with the apartment! The location was great, the bed was comfortable, and we were thrilled to not hear any street noise at night. Having internet connection was a nice perk. Our only complaint was that for the price of the rental, we thought the owner could spare providing an extra roll of toilet paper. It was pretty silly to have to go buy extra toilet paper for a one week holiday stay.

Comments:The apartment was very clean, however, the kitchen countertop which was stainless steel had watermarks from a rags that didn't see really clean. The spiral stairway had no outside light switches and I had to use the flashlight left in the room when i left early and came back late. I tired all switches and nothing worked. The lights were on if i stopped back early evening. The stairs are rather old and uneven so lighting was important as well as for overall safety purposes. I think it was a good value for the money overall, except for the lighting in the stairway.

Comments:Location, Location, Location is our reason for choosing this apartment. We love this area of Paris and for those who do as well, this apartment is great value. The 44 steps in the sprial stone staircase can be a challange but they are managable. The apartment is very quiet - one would never know you are close to a major street of rue St. Jacques.

Comments:In general, the apartment and everything in it was very clean except for the baseboards and the moldings on the storage cupboard. It took about 5 minutes to sweep the baseboards and wipe off the moldings, so it wasn't a big deal. However, someone at some point should do a thorough cleaning of them especially because I only cleaned the parts of the baseboards that were readily accessible. You can see quite clearly where I stopped. Otherwise, the kitchen and bathroom were very clean, the bed linens and towels were clean, the floor was clean. The appliances were all clean and all of them worked. The television probably worked, but I couldn't figure it out. The directions said (in part)to turn it on, but there were 2 remotes and no direction which one to use to turn it on/off. The manager had left it on, but when I turned it off I apparently used the wrong remote which turned off the cable system. Two days later wehn I tried to turn it back on, it didn't work. The directions also said (in part) to use the Orange remote to change the channel, but didn't say which buttons to use on that remote. The up/down buttons didn't work (apparently it was the P+ or the P-, but again that wasn't stated.) I think the manager may want to rewrite the directions step by step explaining which remote and buttons on which remote to use for each step. The heat worked well which was important because of the outside weather. This is a fabulous deal for such a centrally located Paris apartment. The apartment was in very good working order and is in a very convenient location. In addition, I really appreciate how responsive your office and your Paris manager were to my questions and concerns. Thank you! BTW, in case anyone ever asks again, the clock in the apartment is an alarm clock.

Comments:There was very little room to put clothing. We cleaned off a couple of shelves and used the closet space where the chairs were. There were a couple of light bulbs burned out, one was above the bed and the other was in the corner lamp. The kitchen supplies were adequate but a spatula and up to date coffee maker would be nice. We enjoyed our stay very much and were surprised at how quiet the apartment was since it is in a busy part of town with lots of night life. The location is perfect. We were able to walk to most attractions.

Comments:The apartment was absolutely wonderful! It was perfect size for my sister and I, the location was awesome. My favorite aspect of Paris are the markets, we were able to make the most of them and cooked every night in the apartment. I have stayed with VIP multiple times and will do so again next year! Thank You!! The cable did not work but we were never in the apartment much to watch it, just an FYI - there was an error message.

Comments:The shower drain does not drian well - is this a general French problem because of the building's age? We loved the position, & the amazing quietness. We would probably stay in a different area next time just to get to know somewhere else. A map showing It would help a lot if you could leave instructions for the washing machine in English.

Comments:Apartment was a wonderful location - close to both left and right bank with Notre Dame literally a few minutes walk away. The courtyard offered great Parisian character. Apartment possibly best for 2 people if staying a full week but with option of the third A couple of suggestions 1. Advise people that the unit has the number 100 written on the door as we did find it hard to determine which was the 3rd floor especially as we didn't realsie that the lock needed to be manipualted into position to get the key in

Comments:We loved the apt. and the manager/owner was very nice and helpful. For the most part the apt. was clean. The bathroom was clean but there was a lot mold in the shower. The towels were stiff as if they might not have been washed. The rest of the apt. was delightful. We enjoyed are stay and will be back. Thank you for being so pleasant and helpful to work with, it made our vacation just that much better. There is a windy stair case that you must carry your luggage up. Also it is up a few floors. There is no elevator. Do not pack heavy if you want to get your luggage up to the apt. I learned this the hard way.

Comments:The apartment was a great base of operations in a fun neighborhood. Once we figured out the stairway lighting it was much easier to navigate the 3 floor climb to the apartment. When we arrived it was clean, quiet and a little more spacious than we had expected for a Paris apartment in this neighborhood. We were a little dissapointed with the information left for us in the booklets; no instructions on the washer/dryer, and the water heater information was incorrect - we were informed it was on demand and should have no lack of hot water, but the first couple of shower days got a little cold. Once we figured out these couple of quirks we managed just fine. We did also notice that the bathroom had some water staining that could progress to black mold if not serviced. We also found that the apartment was poorly stocked with supplies considering my wife and I were staying for 10 days. There was two sets of older hotel towels, no dish soap, no paper towels, no tissues, only two rolls of toilet paper, and the batteries in the TV remote and alarm clock were dead. During the course of our stay, we had to purchase these items at a minor cost and incovenience. I thought that it would be supplied with a minimum of what a hotel would provide, and we would be expected to clean dishes I was hoping for those supplies. All in all, we had a fabulous experience and enjoyed the apartment once we got used to it. The apartment manager was great, and we enjoyed working with Vacation in Paris. I would gladly use this service again, and I would recommend this apartment to others and explain some of the potential setbacks. All in all we enjoyed our experience. I would recommend giving a little extra to people who stay longer periods (toilet paper, kleenex, extra towels, maybe a maid service after a week or 10 days for people staying longer). In general though, great value considering hotel costs in Paris.

It was spotless upon arrival and linens were crisp and clean. We would definitely stay in this apartment again. Good value for your money. Comments:This apartment is a wonderful value. I couldn't have found a hotel room I would have wanted to stay in for the same price. We were really happy with the apartment, its location, and your agency's policies. Luckily, everything went very smoothly for us on this trip. We enjoyed the whole experience. (The bottle of wine was a sweet and much-appreciated touch.) It would be helpful for everyone -- owners, agency staff, and clients alike -- if the apartment descriptions were kept current. Although it didn't bother us in the least, the apartment listing includes a "DVD player and a selection of popular DVD's " which weren't actually there. Who needs them in Paris?! But I'd remove that from the amenities list to avoid upsetting anyone. Thanks for a great week!
