Comments:We were very pleased with the apartment, neighborhood and location. Loved the history and architecture of the building and apartment and the vintage Montmartre theme with posters, art and antiques. We appreciated how spacious the living and dining rooms are -- one big room with lots of light and French doors and Juliet balconies. The two comfy chairs were wonderful to relax in and watch the street life. The street had just enough activity to be interesting but not noisy. Fun to watch parents taking their children to school in the morning and people coming and going. The large dining room table was great for meals, spreading out maps and writing in my journal. The kitchen and bathrooms were a little tight and the bathroom sinks small to use but that is to be expected for an apartment in Paris. The bed is super comfortable and we appreciated the bedside lamps, nightstands and dresser to place our belongings. We especially appreciate the owner and apartment manager providing chairs for our luggage. I do think two fold-up luggage racks would be very helpful and not take up space in the apartment. The only issue we had was with the resident above. Almost every night after 11pm -- often in the middle of the night -- there was noise that sounded like stomping, pacing and moving stuff around that woke us up. Wondering what that was about. The bottle of wine was a nice touch. Thank you to Jan and Vacation in Paris for being easy to work with and the owner and manager for providing a nice place to stay. We really appreciate all the information VIP provided and all the thoughtful touches in the apartment. We were very happy with our charming Montmartre #70 apartment and hope to stay there again in the future! Jan is excellent. We will recommend her and VIP to others. We hope to stay in other VIP apartments too!

Comments:We really enjoyed our stay here in Monmartre! The apartment was clean, well-appointed with bohemian style art, and with comfortable furniture. The bed was queen sized, and perfect for a great night's sleep after a day of sightseeing. The location is great for Metro transportation from Place Clichy, and for a lovely walk up to Sacre Coeur. Restaurants, stores, and groceries are nearby

Comments:The updated kitchen counters and shelves was very nice. However the cupboard doors for the glassware and china were quite heavy to open and difficult for shorter people. So we ending up leaving them in the open position during our stay. The outside noise was from the garbage trucks in the evening only, but there is quite a bit of car and motorcycle noise until later in the night. Didn't disturbed our sleeping though. Regarding the upstairs noise level it was quiet the first week but quite noisy in the evenings during our second week. We assumed the owners were perhaps on vacation the first week? This was our second stay in the apartment and we found it just as comfortable and inviting as the first time!

Comments:We have used this property each time we went to Paris and were always grateful it was available to us. Just to clarify?no bottle of wine, but that could be because we don?t drink and always left it on the table for the next guest. So that was not a problem. Many thanks to all at Vacation in Paris and to the owner of Apt. #70 for great times in a beautiful city. Your organization made all of our trips effortless. We appreciate all of you so very much.

Comments:Some exterior noise is to be expected in Paris, but closing the balcony doors effectively insulated us from it. Some interior noise during the quiet hours of the night, footsteps from apartment above, elevator, etc., to be expected in any apartment building. Some light bulbs in lamp above table were out, but there was still adequate light and we did not deem it worthy of bothering the manager about. Inside door knob to front door wants to come out when door is locked, but, again, it works when the deadbolt is opened and we adjusted to it. Washer/dryer required a learning curve, as did the TV/cable adapter rig. We found it easier to use the cable box to operate the TV and I left a note describing how to do it for the next guests. The little wheeled shopping cart was a great addition for our initial shopping and daily wine runs to the Monoprix. The whole experience with VIP was excellent. Your services were seamless and you did an excellent job of helping us arrange an alternative apartment when owner problems made our original choice no longer viable. We will definitely use VIP for our next

Comments:the bathroom sink in main bathroom is very small but I was able to use top of dresser for my things. it would be hard to share the bathroom with another woman. But for a short stay, it was fine. There were no bags in any of the garbage cans. And this is the first apartment where I could not find any directions from the owners with suggestions for restaurants, bakeries, etc. There were no directions for the phone, television, appliances, etc. I didn't know where the garbage was to be thrown out. We looked for the book but couldn't find one. I would stay in the apartment again but I would not recommend it to a person who has not stayed in an apt unless they have some directions about the apartment (see above)

Comments:We felt that the living area had more furniture than was necessary thus resulting in a feeling that the space was tighter than it actually is. Likewise in the tiny kitchen there were more dishes and utensils than an apartment that size could ever require. Perhaps eliminating some could free up more work space. Overall, this apartment was wonderful and we would use it again. The manager was very responsive and pleasant to work with. It was the perfect place to come home to after a busy day of exploring beautiful Paris.

Comments:This was our First trip to Paris and we LOVED it!! This apartment was the perfect location for our home base. We are walkers and we walked to the Marais area and Notre Dame. It was a nice walk - yes we made a couple of wrong turns but that allowed us to see other shops and people. The metro was so easy and inexpensive to use, we could take it if we got tired. The laptop computer and printer in the apartment were really nice to have access. The apartment was quiet and comfortable. The sofa bed and the bedroom bed were very comfortable with luxury linens. The shower was great and we used the drying rack above the tub for some of our clothes. The kitchen was cozy and warm and we enjoyed our morning meal there, planning our day. We went to the bakery/patisserie across the street for our croissants and to the corner market for our produce and wine. We tried to speak french and did pretty good, (considering I learned french in 1976!) And the people were so nice and friendly and helpful. They sometimes answered us in English, but then we would respond back in our french. At least we knew bon jour, s'il vous plait, and merci beaucoup! We walked around the Montmarte cemetery on All Saints Day and it was crowded with families bringing flowers, it was lovely. The restaurant next door was very good although we only ate there one time. We always saw crowds there. Also, the Thai restaurant around the corner was delicious. I wanted to mention the day we visited the Sacre Couer cathedral. We climbed the dome and got a great view of Paris and the Tour Eiffel. Afterward we were walking down the stairs to the neighborhood cafes (if facing the church, stairs to the right, past the W.C.) There was a group of 7 or 8 teen-aged girls holding clipboards and pens. They were aggressive and got very, very close to us touching our coats and pants and they were asking us to take the pen and sign, but we were sensing they were trying to pick-pocket. We got away without an incident, thank goodness.

Comments:We really enjoyed the apartment, loved opening the shutters & "French" doors onto the street & watching the activities of the neighbourhood. Rue Cavallotti is a quiet street, very attractive buildings with poster decorated shopfront shutters. There were several restaurants, a boulangerie & a general store in the street & a great roast chicken shop in the neghbourhood. Plenty of hot water for showers & the large living room & proper dining table made for a comfortable stay. The tiny kitchen was a challenge but was adequate. Exploring our area & the further into the next arrondissement was very easy. We walked everywhere but buses & the metro were 5 mins away. We have been to Paris many times but this was our first time staying in Montmartre. It is a very interesting area to explore. We were disappointed to find wet towels & bed linen in the washer/dryer. We didn't arrive til late afternoon so couldn't put the dryer on til the next morning. A longer drying cycle would have prevented this. We did a load of washing later in the week with no problem.

Comments:There is a bit of noise from the above tenant but given the structure of the building which includes a noisy wooden floor, it is inevitable that some will filter downwards. Overall, the noise level was acceptable. We were very happy with the apartment. It is well located in a quiet street, close to Place de Clichy for routine shopping etc. Transport via Metro or bus services is excellent and if staying more than a few days, consider buying the Navigo pass which saves money and time in the long run. Overall, the apartment is very good value for money especially when compared with similar apartments in London.

Comments:Wanted to note that the cleaning of the apartment was meticulous. Not a speck of dust or dirt anywhere and all the windows had been washed both inside and outside. We did find the washer filled with linen . Also the towels hanging in the bathroom appeared to be used. We did find clean towels and the linens on the bed were clean ---so this was not a problem. We noticed that the exhaust fan connected to the ceiling light in the bathroom seemed to be getting clogged with dust. I know this can happen quickly and frequently Maybe the owner or person responsible for maintenance should be advised as this could eventually be a fire hazard concern. We did not use this light while we were there because a second light on the wall was sufficient.

Comments:Overall really enjoyed stay there. Only negatives, found wet towels in washing machine when we arrived, window in kitchen leaked cold air and carafe for auto coffee maker was cracked and leaked coffee. All very minor things. Wife was concerned about neighborhood when I reserved apartment but found it fine once we arrived. We were happy to find several good places to eat on the same block. I don't think we could have done as well with any of the other places we looked at and the price for what we got was excellent.

Comments:We have rented apartments before and we found this one to be very acceptable and convenient. We would recommend. Upstairs neighbors quite active, but nothing that annoyed us. The living/dining room area was quite large. Typical size bathroom and kitchen for these 200 year old buildings. Free wifi, cable tv and international calling from the apartment telephone were real pluses. Having the key mailed to us ahead of time was very convenient as opposed to having to arrange to meet someone at the apartment. This allowed us to arrive at a time that worked out best for us.

Comments:The apartment was acceptable but we are not familiar with the Paris apartment market. When we say we would not use the apartment again we mean we would branch out and try new apartments not that we would be totally against renting this apartment again. The sofa bed is not comfortable and the other people had to put the mattress on the floor. We did have a wonderful time and the apartment was sufficient for our needs. It was very convenient to the Metro which was an asset. I would give a practical recommendation to anyone who asks. Our experience was generally good. Thank you for your good service and immediate response to our questions.

Comments:Lovely apartment. We rented 2 other apartments in Paris from VIP on this trip, and this was by far the best of the 3. There was some construction noise during the day from another apartment in the building, but nothing like what we experienced in the first apartment we stayed in. We only noticed because my wife and I were both ill and spent most of the time in the apartment. Had we been out sightseeing, we would not have been bothered at all.

A great addition to the apartment would be one of those wheeled shopping bags that French women take shopping. The apartment we rented from you in March 2008 had one.
