Comments:We brought our own knife sharpener; and sharpened all of the knives in the rack. The addition of the railing on the side of the steps from the dining area to the living room is excellent, and much needed. Lat time we were in the apartment it was difficult maneuvering the steps, particularly when carrying dishes back and forth. Also the new railing between the 2nd 'bedroom' and the living area makes everything quite safe.

Comments:We just came back from our fourth Vacation in Paris rental and must say this apartment was the best. It was the best stocked and furnished out of all of them. We have friends in France and often like to serve them an ?American? dinner when we visit. We were easily able to have a dinner party for six with the well supplied kitchen and ample dining area. The location is also superb, really less than a two minute walk to necessary food shopping with a carrefour city and Monop nearby. Also a fantastic bakery Maison Marney (formerly Maison Julien) on rue St Martin that has decadent almond croissants. The Pompidou center was a block away and both les Halles and Chatelet Metro were within a 5- 10 minute leisurely stroll. The apartment also has air conditioning which was a welcome respite to the 90 degree weather when we were there. Two bedrooms essentially with their own ensuites was very convenient. A small but functional elevator was a bonus for heavy luggage. The owner has a very detailed manual for the apartment with helpful tips and there is an ample library filled with reading material and tour books/maps. The ambience of the building was enhanced by the muted tones of classical piano playing from one of our neighbors during our stay that would waft through the stairwell. The only minor ( and I stress minor) issues are that the street is really pedestrian only so if you arrive by taxi, the drivers really do not want to go on it so you may have to wheel your suitcases a short city block, and we noticed that the air conditioner effects the hot water flow ( one of those French vagaries) so it is best to shut off the ac when showering. Overall an excellent rental and I have mixed feelings posting this review as I would like to ensure this apartment is available for my next trip to Paris!

Comments:This is an excellent property and we enjoyed our week here very much. My brother's family was staying in another VIP apartment and our apartment, with its large common areas, was the perfect place for both families to gather. Several things I really liked: 1. The apartment is in a lively area with a lot going on in the neighborhood. However, it was quiet inside even when we had windows open (as they overlook a quiet courtyard). 2. It appears to have newer appliances (dishwasher, washer, separate dryer) and they work very well. The guidance for operating them provided in the "House Book" is excellent. 3. Maison Marney is the best bakery we have ever had access to during stays in five different neighborhoods. It is a three minute walk away. Great bakery/pastry items. Good prices. Nice people. The only drawback (which has nothing to do with the property) is that I was lukewarm about nearby grocery stores (a Carrefour and a Monop). I prefer shopping at the larger Monoprix stores and the closest one (about a 10 minute walk) is not as nice as others I have used. When we return to Paris, if we need more than one bedroom, it is highly likely we will want to stay here again.

Comments:The location was fabulous and the apartment was perfect for the 4 of us. Graciously large. We use G7 taxi service and were very pleased. Their current number is +33 1 41 27 66 99 We had to fiddle with modem to get phone to work.

Comments:Paris was amazing and was only topped by having an apartment to come "home" to each day. We loved sitting on the red couches, opening a bottle of wine, unwinding and sharing the high points of our day. We felt Parisan! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this rental to anyone. The area and location were great and there were good restaurants, a produce shop, small grocery and even a Starbuck's within 5 minutes of the apartment The building was historic and the apartment charming. We appreciated the information book -not only was it filled with info about the apartment, but also had excellent recommendations on restaurants and much more- wifi, and the ability to call family in the states.

Comments:Would be great if the second bedroom had twin beds that could be used separately of together instead of a pull out sofa. Otherwise, this is a very nice apartment and we truly enjoyed it's old world charm very much as opposed to a newer unit. Loved the entry way and the staircase.

Comments:Did not get a bottle of wine, but we really enjoyed the apartment! The shower in the main bedroom was practically unusable as it is very short and we could not get hot water. The toilet in the 2nd bedroom is loose on the ground, and almost tipped over

Comments:Everything was as expected. The information was accurate and the apartment was exactly what we expected. We were disappointed that our complimentary bottle of wine was not in the unit upon arrival. We arrived around 11 pm and had hoped to enjoy a glass of wine upon arrival. Nothing was provided! We did find a neighborhood caf

Comments:One of the bathrooms was I felt an HSE issue. There was a sign saying it was a heritage bathroom so water in shower could not be above a certain temperature. My husband normally has a very cool shower and even he felt couldn't use it at the set temperature. There was a hand held showerhead & hose in the bath with normal temperature range but bath was quite high and showerhead & hose continually detached. Bathroom was an accident waiting to happen. Was very happy about everything else to do with the apartment.

Comments:Kitchen needs: measuring cups, sponge, diswashing brush (we bought one and left it). Dryer should have a note on the machine about the water collector - we've never seen this feature before. Good things: water kettle and teapot. Couldn't use master bath Your advanced instructions on entry codes and key use were excellent; unlike other experiences we've had in the past. Suggest that there be more than one reading lamp in the living room. It was very nice to have rugs throughout and the bedroom carpeted.

Comments:Excellent location, quiet yet close to everything... easy walk to Les Halles for rail to/fr CDG and Chatelet Metro station with grocery stores and good restaurants all around... The apartment is spacious with good separation of living area and BRs for sharing with other couples yet giving everyone their privacy, furnishings are a bit dated in decor and style, but nonetheless quite adequate and comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped and functional. Only (minor) issue was lack of electrical outlet in the bathrooms, but that might be a matter of code in Paris. The information book for navigating the area and dining recommendations were quite helpful. One input is that the master bedroom closet door could stand some maintenance - it creaked so loudly we were concerned it would disturb neighbors (yes, it was THAT loud). My only real complaint was the uncertainty regarding whether the apt would be ready for us upon arrival and the inability to stow our luggage at the property on the day of checkout (or any suggestions for a solution to this need). Fortunately, it wasn't an issue for us at arrival but at the end of our stay, we had a full day in Paris before catching the Eurostar to London. I cannot imagine we are the only renter/clients that have this need and I found it disappointing that VIP didn't offer a solution or any suggestions for managing this.

Comments:The appliances are old, especially the TV and microwave. They need to be updated. The air conditioner was noisy. We would stay there again because of the excellent location and ease of use of the pubic transport system. Also many good restaurants nearby.

Comments:One quibble: the apartment is advertised as having wifi and internet, but once we arrived there were admonishments in the House Book not to use it too much, that they were charged by the minute. This seems very odd (and unreasonable) in 2011. Building elevator stopped working on our way out.

Comments:There was some issue with hot water. First we could not adjust (which was OK because the setting was warm enough) and then the hot water disappeared..which we could not make any change and had to wait it out. As far as the wine bottle, I wish you have left a note saying "Welcome" or "With Complements" or something to that effect. We did not presume it was for us so we did not open it. The noise came from the club next door with music going on to mid-night. The noise did not bother us and we would recommend the apartment to others. It's interesting that the apartment note says we should not do laundry after 9PM but the music was much louder than any noise the washer could have caused. Thanks! This was by far the easiest rental I did for my stay in Europe (London and Munich for the same trip). We had to meet someone for the keys...it was just inconveninent when we had delays in arrivals from the aiprort and train station. Do you manage other properties in other cities...besides Paris?
