Comments:We really loved this property. Chez Germain, a restaurant just don't the street was exceptional, and we found the location of the apartment to be exceptional. Although it was a long walk, we found that the Eiffel Tower and other sites were within walking distance, if you didn't mind a longer walk. The apartment was very clean, beautiful, and quiet. We loved everything about it. And, thanks for the bottle of wine! Thank you so very much for everything!

Comments:This was my husband and my second trip to Paris and our childrens' ages 4 and 7, and niece, age 18 first trip. The apartment perfectly accommodated this family of five. The location was quiet and located directly across from a laundry mat (which came in handy). There were a lot of local shops to buy food within walking distance. A boulangerie (we visited daily for a fresh baguette and pain au chocolat) was less than a minute walk away. The Metro station Vaneau was right around the corner from the apartment and got us all around the city. My kids loved the apartment, especially my 4 year old son that kept wanting to go back to the apartment every time we were out siteseeing. I found the pullout sofa very comfortable, so comfortable that I want one for my house. The apartment was almost perfect with the exception of the stairs. They are very narrow inside the apartment and one must take extra precaution when using them. I would highly recommend this property. We were under the impression that there would be a coupon for a percentage off to the owner of the apartment's chocolate shop but we could not find it. It would have been great too since my 7 year old wants to be a chocolatier when she gets older. She kept asking to go to the chocolate shop. We went to one and bought a lot of chocolate for her to try, but it would have been nice to go to the owner's shop and try some of his/her chocolate.

Comments:Excellent location in the city. Nice, clean apartment with all the right furnishings. Bed was extremely comfortable. Loved the fully furnished kitchen. Would highy recommend a more sturdy banister be installed as the staircase is quite steep and narrow. My son slipped down the bottom 3 and scrapped his legs on the anti-slip strips. Apt manager David Simmons was always available and extremely helpful. Totally loved your pre-trip instructions as they were simple, detailed, and accurate. Thank you for providing laundry detergent as well. Made our stay truly enjoyable. Excellent support provided by the U.S office as well.

Comments:A wonderful apartment in a superb location. One comment regarding noise: the apartment itself was nice & quiet, but there was one neighbor who came home on several nights around 3 am with a group of friends and made a real racket - blasting music, shouting, etc. This continued for 45 minutes to an hour each night before the other neighbors prevailed and got him to quiet down. Given how disruptive this was to the entire building, I suspect it will be dealt with in due time. We've been renting trough VIP for 13 years and remain big fans!

Comments:1. Notebook inside apt said we would find operating instructions for dishwasher, stove, and oven in the kitchen, however the appliance manuals kept in the kitchen drawers were of little use. We looked up instructions on the internet, and that was not successful either. The dishwasher appeared not to be working. We eventually (through trial & error) figured out the stove and limited use of the oven. If the owner could type up a simple one-page tutorial on using these appliances and leave it in the notebook, it would be very helpful. 2. Kitchen would benefit from additional dish towels. We used one for our whole stay, for hand drying all dishes (due to dishwasher not working), wiping hands, wiping counters...need more towels in the kitchen. Overall very great stay! The apartment was a hit with our three kids -- it was their favorite place we stayed in Europe. Would definitely recommend this apartment to others and VIP -- great service!

Comments:Love the decor on the walls! For four people for a week, a few extra towels would have been nice. The interior stairs are a bit treacherous, but there's probably no help for that, given the space. Perhaps a curtain over the bathroom window would be a good idea -- while there's not a lot of foot traffic outside of it, a soda bottle left on the window sill one night indicated that people do go past it now and then. The refrigerator is a very generous size -- great for holding our purchases from le March? Raspail!

Comments:The unit was wonderful. The inside stairs were as described, a bit rickety and not suitable for children or elderly people. One of the support post was detaching itself from the wall and needs to be fixed immediately. The bathroom was very good and the towel warmer was very handy. However, the owner should probably put a new coat of paint on the ceiling as mold was present. The couch upstairs and the rug need to be professionally cleaned or replaced as they both smelled of sweat/urine. Upon entering the unit, there was a strong musty/sweaty/ammonia smell, which came from the rug and sofa bed. We sprayed both with Lysol and burned candles throughout our stay. The unit was absolutely wonderful, but we will probably not use it in the future because of the smell from the sofa and rug. I would only use it if those two items were replaced. Other than that, great unit.

Comments:The best thing about this apartment is the location. It is a walking distance to pretty much everything. Nice little restaurants and boulangeries are around, 2 metro stations are near by (we used Vaneau often), supermarket is just a short walk way from the building. Few things would require extra attention: overall appearance and AC. We were in Paris during the heat wave, so it was not very convenient to NOT have an AC in the temperatures nearing 100F and open windows and a small fan were not helping. As for the overall appearance of the apartment, I would suggest to spend some time and money and fix things like windows, stairs, closets. It would be nice to have a feeling of a not dated place

Comments:This apartment had an excellent location, and we were very pleased with the value and size of this apartment compared to the price of hotels. We were able to walk to most places of interest, and we loved the neighborhood, shops, and restaurants. We feel the steepness of the ladder of this apartment needs to be emphasized to potential renters as it could be dangerous for some people with disabilities or who are not physically fit. We did get used to it after a few days. A circular staircase would solve the problem. One of the neighbors had a loud party one evening which went until the early morning hours and kept us awake, but the apartment owner certainly cannot be held responsible for that. However, overall, this apartment provided a fantastic Paris experience for us. We would definitely recommend Vacation In Paris properties to friends.

Comments:This is our fourth or fifth rental with ViP (since 2007), and we would like to use the opportunity to express our gratitude to the very efficient and friendly service rendered by ViP. Jan especially was more than helpful on numerous occasions. The Apartment itself was arguable the best of all our multiple rentals, both through ViP and other companies we used through the years. Ideal location; on one hand, it is quite centrally located, with boulevard Raspail and boulevard Saint-Germain within a walking distance, but it was also off the beaten and noisy tourist paths, the courtyard facing windows added to the inherent quiet of the 7e arrondissement. Also, the Montparnasse area and the Invalides are right there. All the grocery stores, specialty stores (charcuterie, cheeses, wine, etc.) are within two or three minutes walk. Even a supermarket Carrefour City is right next to the apartment on rue des Sevres. We won't even dwell on great neighborhood restaurants, for this is a ubiquitous case anywhere in Paris. We would just recommend the famous Le Grand Bistro de Bretuil by Garry Dorr. The place can be walked to in five minutes, and it offers the most luxurious dinner of an aperitif, three-course dinner, a bottle of wine and coffee for a bit less than 50 euro. It should be considered a freebee for Paris. Also, the neighborhood rue du Cherche-Midi features multiple other dining choices. Both the metro and several bus lines stops are right next to the apartment, which should solve any transportation problems or needs. A Tabac for purchasing the transit tickets is basically on the block, one street to the west, on rue des Sevres, towards rue Rousselet. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly well. The lack of washer and dryer is well compensated by a laundromat right across the street from the building's entry door. Our only complain is that for a nine-day rental, a spare set of bedding should have been provided. Other than that, we will definitely rent the property again.

Comments:The apartment itself is modest. The upstairs area (living room and kitchen) was spacious and plenty of room for four people to have a meal or relax. The foldout bed was comfortable but not quite big enough for two teenage kids. A separate mattress was used. The downstairs area was very humid, so we kept the window/door open as much as possible. Also the stairs between the floors was very steep. Care should be exercised. Internet access was free but intermittent. It seems that it worked very well for 30 minutes, then stopped working for 3-4 minutes, then started up again. Mildly annoying, but noting to really worry about. Entry instructions were a little vague. I'd add "One person can go up the stairs and turn right to enter the apartment. They can then go downstairs to let others in and bring in the luggage." There are four apartment doors, all red, at the top of the stairs. Also, to exit the building, press the small button mounted to the wall to the right of the door.

Comments:The wifi did not work for the first 4 days. I called the apartment manager and he was aware of the problem. It was finally fixed the day before we departed for home. It was pretty inconvenient to not be able to use the internet as promised. Also, the bathroom floor is so warped that the shower door doesn't open more than about 12 inches. Fortunately, we are not large people so we were able to squeeze in and out of the shower. It would be a real problem if you rent this apartment to heavier people.

Comments:The apartment is in a wonderful location in a quiet neighborhood, close to 2 metros and several lines, grocery stores and great restaurants. The little wine bar exactly next to the apartment complex was superb. We enjoyed our stay immensely. It was so nice to come "home" to the apartment after a day of walking around and relax with a nice bottle of wine or wake up and make our own coffee. The layout of the apartment is unique in that there are two levels which is nice so that the 3 of us were able to feel we had plenty of space and not cramped in a small hotel room. I could never stay in a hotel again after experiencing the VIP apartment. It made such a difference in our stay. The free wifi was also a fantastic bonus. It was all so easy to reserve, arrange and pay for we couldn't believe it. Getting the key in the mail before we left, we had no worries about being able to get in the apartment. A fabulous experience!!!!

Comments:A few comments: 1. Two of the three lamps in the bedroom had burned out lightbulbs (no replacements in sight) -also the light fixture directly above the stairs did not work, and the foyer light was dim. 2. A notice for a party taking place on Friday night left by a neighbor stated guests to be leaving between 12:30-1am, however, noise levels continued into the early morning until about 2:30am (not sure if from the same or different neighbor). 3. We did not receive our coupon for the 10% off for the department store. 4. The rug in the bathroom was inadequate for preventing water spills onto the hardwood floors and a waterproof bath mat or rubber mat should be provided. This particular apartment was recommended by the VIP staff who were always very kind. The information packet provided for the apartment and appliances was helpful with emphasis for maintaining the apartment and the noise levels for courtesy. The description for the upper door of the apartment was not included, and to avoid confusion, add "at the top of the stairs right hand side" or "first door with wooden handle on the right hand side". We did our best to follow the rules though in some instances it was difficult to maintain due to hardwood floors in certain areas and also there was some lack of courtesy from the neighbors. We found the apartment to be impeccably clean, in a safe neighborhood, and close to stores/metro lines. We would highly recommend this location again for a comfortable stay for one couple or family with only 4 members (maximum).
