Comments:The cottage is a joy. Outside noise is blocked out by the buildings surrounding the cottage and by the double glass window panes. The interior is beautiful and the kitchen more than adequate; having a washer also is a big help. The neighborhood has everything anyone would need and the metro is nearby making this accommodation ideal for a stay in Paris.

Comments:this was a truly magical little place in the middle of the bustling city. The garden was quiet, the skylights were a great touch to add to the "nature" vibe of the place. Incredibly convenient, clean, and comfortable. Our very quick trip to Paris was highlighted by where we hung out hats at night. I've been to Paris before, and many other cities as well, and I've never felt more "at home" than this charming little abode.

Comments:Upon arriving we immediately noticed that the planters in front of the apartment had been cleaned and the table and chairs outside were beautifully clean and inviting. We enjoyed the patio very much this year. The apartment must have been cleaner this year, as we were not bothered by the bedding. The coverlet on the couch helped also. The one draw back was trying to get a hot/warm shower. The water changes from scalding to freezing, just when you get the correct temperature the hand held shower head comes off in your hand. ok. here is the deal. I will tell you how I feel about this appt but DO NOT tell anyone about it. it will just make it harder for you and me to rent it when we want it. 2016 will be the 3rd year in a row I have rented this appt. for me the location is great. it is within easy walking distance to 2 different metro lines. there is a market twice a week at the end of the block and on sunday it turns into an art market. Paris is a busy, noisy city. when you walk thru the building into the courtyard to get to the appt the noise is left behind. it is nice to sit on the little patio with a cup of coffee and decide which restaurant to go to(there many in the area). the kitchen is pretty well equipped although we do not do a lot of fancy cooking just basic easy meals. the stairs to the loft bedroom did not present a problem fo us, and I can not believe it. last year I could not stand straight up in the loft bedroom. either I have shrunk a foot or the owner raised the ceiling. I could stand straight up wih a couple of inches to spare this year. since the inseam of my pants are the same as last year, I would say bravo to the owner on raising the ceiling. so these are my thoughts on this appt. but remember! DO NOT tell a sole. mum's the word. ok.

Comments:What a delight! We loved this cottage so much. It is in such a great location, so surprisingly quiet, and loads of gorgeous, natural light. Pretty, artsy decor and lovely, huge mirrors really help open the space and make this little cottage seem much larger. The mezzanine sleeping area was just right for my 5'6" self, on the short side for my 6'3" husband though, strangely I didn't mind! ;) The sofa was really very comfy according to my children. The kitchen was well equipped, I gave it quite a workout. The area is lovely and close to the metro, the train station, several restaurants, bakeries, fruit and vegetable stands, grocers, cheese shop, butcher and fish monger. What's not to love?! Cannot recommend this highly enough. Be careful on the stair and you will have a grand time. The shower is the size of a postage stamp, which is to be expected. Enjoy yourself. Thank you so much for sharing your cottage with us!

Comments:I loved my stay in the garden cottage, and hope to be back again soon! The apartment looked just like the photos, and had everything you might need available (towels, general kitchen supplies, washer, drying rack, TV, multiple fans, etc.). The neighborhood is perfect-the metro is at the end of the street, and there are many bakeries, creperies, grocery stores, and restaurants close by. The apartment manager, David, was very friendly, gave a helpful overview of the apartment essentials when he met us at the apartment, and was very willing to answer questions about the apartment or area itself. We had hoped for a late check-out, but unfortunately more guests were arriving that day. However, we were able to keep our luggage in the apartment for an hour extra while we did some last minute shopping, which was convenient. Lastly, as an added bonus, they had a bottle of wine ready for us when we arrived!

Comments:The property was beautifully and very tastefully decorated. It had everything that you need for self catering. The location was excellent as the metro and shops were so near. We managed to walk almost everywhere and found the number and range of eating places the best we have found in Paris compared to previous stays. We have been going to Paris for many years and this was the first time we have tried self catering. I don't think we will stay anywhere else now we have found this gem! the kitchen would benefit from a chopping board and a sharp knife!

Comments:let me begin by saying i would definately rent this apartment again. my wife is not so sure but then again can you trust the judgement of someone who likes broccoli. if you are aware of the shortcomings of the loft bedroom and way to much furniture in the apartment you will be in for a treat. my wife and i have rented 8 different apartments in paris. all have pros and cons. this has both, but i loved it. my one suggestion is to give an alternative to down pillows and down comforters. we were both allergic or bothered by both. we found ways around it. some of the bedding in the apt. was not clean, as we were looking for alternative blankets, and there was no other choices. .

Comments:There could be better instructions for the use of the oven. I used it 3 times to reheat food and each time I had difficulty especially getting it to turn off. A microwave oven would also be useful. One of the treads on the spiral staircase is at an odd downward angle and moves a little causing you to feel that it might give way. It seems to be securely wedged against the wall but it could cause someone to lose their footing.

Comments:We were a bit diappointed in how dark and damp the apartment was, especially on our day of arrival since it had been raining. There were skylights but even on sunny days, the light was not too good. The shutters were a bit off-putting. We understood the need for safety but besides being awkward, it added to the closed in feeling. The furniture was attractive to the apartment but not very comfortable for sitting. The couch that went into the bed was awkward to manuver so we left it open during our stay. One of the staris was lose so that was a concern since our 12 and 15 year old children were the ones using the upstairs. the vaulted roof up there was awkward and the children bumped their heads on several occasions. One of our biggest disappointments was the outdoor patio. This was a big attraction to us when we found the apartment online. It was not well kept, and the furniture was not very clean. We tried to find a broom to clear off the ground but did not. We did not end up using this area at all. On a positive note, the location was very good. We enjoyed the neighborhood and surrounding amenities. The apartment indoors was clean and the information provided was excellent and very thorough. We appreciated and understood that there was an attempt to maintain a certain quality to the apartment but it was not worth it to us. In 2009 we stayed at an apartment through Vacation in Paris and had an outstanding experience. We have referred other friends who have also had positive experiences.

Comments:We only had a couple of points of confusion: when we weren't sure whether the property had yet been cleaned, since there was no complimentary bottle of wine -- and after our departure, when the property manager claimed we had scratched the hard wood floor and temporarily held our security deposit (thankfully, we noted prior condition of the apartment and Vacation in Paris staff were very friendly and professional in getting us our security deposit back since the scratches were not our fault). We had an absolutely wonderful time at the cottage in Montparnasse! This was our honeymoon, so we had hoped that the accommodations would be special -- they definitely were. We felt like residents of the neighborhood and best of all the apartment was *so

Comments:There were two significant issues, both of which were raised with management but which apparently weren't able to be fixed during our stay. One was that the freezer door (within the refrigerator) had come off, and therefore the freezer was useless and fridge usage was compromised due to dripping water. The other was that, in the bathroom the shower head was in poor shape and sprayed water in many directions other than downwards. In such a small shower space, this was less than ideal. We absolutely loved the location of the apartment and the ambience of Garden Cottage. The only reason we wouldn't tell all our friends about it is that we'd love it to remain our little secret. Even with the two shortcomings, it was a beautiful place to stay. Thank you.

Comments:One isn't used to finding such value these days. We don't know how you do it. We've posted pictures of the cottage on Facebook, and numerous friends have wondered in amazement how we found such a property in the middle of Paris! About not finding a complimentary bottle of wine...There was a box of chocolates instead, which was entirely to our liking since we don't drink wine, but are addicted to chocolate! Very polite and helpful cleaning lady (Maria?) made our introduction to the cottage as pleasant as could be.

Comments:First of all, our experience starting with an excellent customer service from VIP - Thank you! Mainly Jan was the one I communicated with but everyone I talked with was very helpful, prompt with information and very friendly. Our keys were mailed along wiht the Paris map. VacationInParis provides great customer service. This is especially important to emphasize after I tried to deal with several French agencies and homeowners. The property itself is very nice. It is owned by an artist and you can feel it in every little detail how well it is planned and decorated. Lots of personal items in decor. The furniture is all solid wood and hand made. It is beautiful and cozy. We felt welcome from the first moment. There was a gorgeous bouquet of flowers on the table, an information book with lots of good recommendations, and a bottle of Bordeaux wine. Tea and coffee in a good variety was included. Everything was clean and well organized. The location is very good - right off Montparnasse, the famous La Rotonde is right on the corner. A couple of bakeries and a cheese store are so good. It took us 20 min to walk to Louvre and only 10 to Luxembourg Garden. Metro is in a minute away. I have recommended the property and the agency to several of our friends. I hope we will be back some day to Paris too. Though this was my second trip, Paris is Paris... Famous Paul Gauguin lived in the hotel right across the road, on the other side of the street. There is a plaque on the wall there.

Comments:I loved this place and have already recommended it to several people. The kitchen is fantastic, but I have one request: please get one decent chef's knife and a knife sharpener. I travel with those items within the US where I live, but have yet to carry them overseas. The most fun I had in a fun-filled and lovely 3 week European vacation was shopping at the Montparnasse market on Saturday, then making dinner for friends from the US that night. Perfect, except for the knife! I'll come back regardless. The owner's artistry and cultural background shine through in the ambience of her home. I felt like I had met her after staying there for a week. I loved the light, the location, and the personality of the cottage. I'll be back!

Comments:Seeing that the property is in the courtyard of 6 floor block of apartments I very surprised at the lack of noise and the general privacy. Given the location of the rental (very close to Blvd. Montparnasse and the station) and the amount of traffic in the surrounding streets the quietness of the apartment was truly surprising. It appears that the majority of the windows of the surrounding apartment block looking on to the courtyard are from the bathrooms and not the actual living areas. The bathroom is fairly small and for a person of my size (6"4" and 215lbs) the shower was constricting. However that is not something that could be fixed easily and most european bathrooms are small than american ones. The apartment overall was quite large and spacious The height of the ceiling in the mezzanine sleeping area is low and may be a problem for some people - the ceiling slopes from a high of 5"6" over the head of the bed down to about 3"6"". And unfortunately the closet is on the far side of the bed requiring you to crawl over the bed to access it. There was a chest of drawers in the bedroom but it was full of the bed linens with no room for your clothes. All in all I enjoyed the apartment and loved its location - I have already booked it for a further 2 weeks in November and expect (and hope) to return there regularly.

Comments:The reason for non-recommendation is the sleeping loft. The stair is workable but dangerous. We were warned clearly about the stair and about the low ceiling in the loft. We were not warned about the entire storage area for hanging garments being located behind the bed. That was so difficult that we wound up using the dining room as a closet. The dullness of the utensils purported to be knives was so pronounced that we bought one..and left it for the next renter. An armoire replacing the more or less useless mirror between the bathroom and the stair would help immeasurably. The tone of the "how-to" manual in the apartment ranges from unwelcoming to hostile. The transportation (three Metro lines) and the general neighborhood were superb.

Comments:We loved this apartment - very chic! We loved the owners artistic sense of style and found it very roomy for two people. A brilliant street to stay in, with food shops, market, good metro stations close at hand. It would be good if the advice (much appreciated) was kept updated. Eg - Documentation still suggests that this is an apartment for up to 5 adults, though we were advised that only 2 allowed by owner (which is more sensible). Also, the in-house documentation suggests that you can unpack and then store suitcases in the wardrobe, No you can't!! One wardrobe, the dresser drawers, and under the bed is stuffed with spare bedding. This was a bit annoying, because the mezzanine bedroom is an awkward shape re headroom and accessible space (as advised) and it would have been good to be able to put our clothes away instead of having to have our suitcases lying out. Also nice to unpack if somewhere for a few days - more homely. VIP also give generic advice re washing machines, not using after 5 pm, length of cycle... the washing machine in this apartment is quick and quiet. Be good if the house docs reflected this. But hey - this is just feedback, to be helpful - not moaning! We loved our stay there and would go again and recommend to friends (already have!). Please let the owner know we felt privileged to stay there. Thank you for your quick responses during the booking phase. And for sending clear information (even if it does need updating!). It was a good experience to book our apartment through your scheme

Comments:It was a great appartment and a great location. The reason I wouldn't stay there again or recommend it to a friend was that the stairs up to the bedroom were very steep and difficult to negotiate in the dark at night if you needed to go to the bathroom and neither my husband or I could stand up in the bedroom upstairs which would be okay for a day or two, but got irritating for a week. We were thrilled with our stay and Paris and your service and we would certainly use your site again (even though maybe not that particular appartment). The only thing I was disappointed in was the car service that you recommended to pick us up from the airport. We paid approx $100 inadvance and then when our bags were delayed and we were in the airport for 3 hours waiting, the driver left and we did not get a ride, but they refuse to give us out $ back even though we went out of the airport and talked to the driver twice to let him know the situation. When we went out a third term (Which was about 30 mins after we had arrived, he had left) and no one answered their 24hour phone service). So we had to take the Metro with all our luggage and 2 VERY tired children. Not good.

Comments:Felt there could have been slight improvement as far as the vacuuming & dusting was concerned (coffee table very dusty underneath). Needed a better range of pots and pans in the kitchen... too many very large saucepans, no smaller ones at all. No tea towels on arrival, although one (!) was sent in for us. Couldn't find the broom. Wondered if inventory is always checked prior to guests arriving ? Took us a while to find English speaking channels on TV...suggest possibly clearer instructions ? Would also suggest a portable/foldable clothes airer be available - not everyone is keen on using dryers at the Laundromat. Very efficient dealings via e-mail with VIP staff. Great location and neighbourhood. Please accept the above comments as constructive and not critical !

Comments:On the whole very happy with the apt. as indicated in the Visitors' Book. Paucity of linen and towels due to daughter's unexpected short visit small problem. Somehow, expected more of a garden area and would have liked a rake to clear the leaves. The main door to the building caused problems - understand from other tenants ongoing problem of latch. Loved the area - interesting, vibrant, accessible and with some great restaurants. Only reason for not returning to Montparnasse would be the desire to live in another, untried arrondissment. Just to thank all at VIP/USA for their helpful and polite assistance at all times. Hope to be in contact again one of these years. Going to Cambodia next - any contacts there?! Regards to all Wilma B-M

Comments:It would be over priced for 2 people and unsuitable for a family. Excellent location for transport and local neighbourhood. Easy access from CDG airport with Air France bus to Monpanasse station. Cooking equipment more suited to large group. Starter pack of essentials excellent. Dirty and untidy outside and no tools to clean up with. I'd definitely recommend your service for people looking for Paris accommodation. It would be helpful if you added aspects of bathrooms and steps to your descriptions. We travelled with a friend with mobility dificulties who needs a free standing shower and minimum stairs and could not always twll if appartments were accessible.

Comments:Maybe because of the booking staffs' high level of service, I had an unrealistic expectation on this rental. The apartment itself was great, cute and quiet, with comfortable beddings, actually. However, the manager was very rude. I don't want to start wit

Comments:The only issue I had was it was a little hard to find due to being behind some apartment buildings. Everything was very good. My wife loved the place. It was a nice escape from the "city". You would not know you were in a large city. Very good.

Comments:Thoroughly enjoyed the apartment, perfect location for our purpose. The upstairs bedroom was a little difficult to get around in with the low ceiling but it worked fine. A very charming apartment overall.
