Comments:Overall, it was OK, but seems a bit less so than on our previous rental of this same unit (2013) The rooms were clean, but sort of dusty. The bathroom was not as clean as we might like, but OK. The bed made noise with every turn or upon getting in or out, especially the headboard. The towels and sheets had seen better days, were dingy and well-worn. Some of the utensils were scarce. There were only two dinner knives (but several steak knives). Some of the plates had not been cleaned well by previous residents and were sticky. We would return. These are not reasons not to, but we also hope that things will have improved the next time. As for recommending this property to friends, only with a lot of "forewarning." The above incidents are small in comparison to the enjoyment we had having a convenient and relatively clean apartment in Paris. Comments:The location was wonderful. The apartment was decent, had nice color scheme and pleasant furnishings. As we stayed in hotels the rest of our trip, the beds and bathrooms were a little older in comparison to newer hotel rooms but it was lovely to have more space and a kitchen and dining table. We loved the security and convenience of the place. There was a boutique party on the night of our arrival but to our teenage kids, that was an exciting welcome. Comments:We'd recommend the apartment to a friend with caveats. It was pretty basic (no surprise - we knew that from the photos), but neat and clean with a very well-equipped kitchen. The building is nice and secure. We chose for location - which is excellent and in a neighbourhood that we really like. On the other hand, the 'phone, which was listed as an amenity, didn't work and there were two critical times when we needed to call from a land line and not being able to do so was very stressful. We had given the apartment 'phone # to family - fortunately, they didn't need to contact us. The House Book, which had critical information about things like wifi connection, had been lost and not replaced. If there was a bottle of wine, it was very well hidden. We had a great time in Paris and it was great to be back with VIP.

Comments:There was noise from the street at night, both vehicles and yelling people in the early hours of the morning. Particularly noticed on Friday and Saturday nights. If you are used to being in a noisy city location this is probably okay. That said the good aspect of sleeping was that was a nice firm bed and there was no noise from within the apartments block. sent by private email. I don't know where you can add it but I would say also "VIP was highly responsive when I raised issues with them during my stay and I cannot say enough to thank them for the high level of service " The house book in this apartment is inadequate compared to other VIP apartments. For example, no tips on supermarkets (had to ask manager as it's not obvious), restaurants. For first timers in Paris transport details would help as there is a convenient bus that goes extremely close but no details. needs updating with current Internet name and code.

Comments:1. Could not open couch bed so friend slept uncomfortably on top for a few days until we could reach Karim. Unable to easily reach him. He thought he had explained to friend how to open bed, but the call had been disconnected and then did not get call back. 2. House book did not give enough information, such as, how to open bed, how to manage trash (recycle bottles, plastics, paper, which container to throw which trash, use of oven and microwave, washing machine, etc.) This was a great rental property. The location was so convenient and located in an area rich with food, wine, and culture. The experience dealing with VIP was really fantastic. I had concerns about the stairs leading up and down to get to elevator due to some joint issues. In the end, I was able to manage my luggage because I sent some belongings home by mail. The apartment was very comfortable and clean. Thank you for all you assistance/service.

Comments:We LOVED the location. The apartment was efficient and comfortable enough. The linens on the bed were not fitted and were too small - they came untucked continually. My husband found the bed so uncomfortable he slept on (not pulled out) the couch. There is big street light that shines through the sheer curtains all night long and the street is noisy with garbage collection and partiers late at night. Room darkening curtains would make a huge difference for your guests. We used our earplugs and eye shades from the plane... Again, we were mostly really happy with the apartment. I put in the above comments with the hopes that they will help you add the touches that would make the place closer to perfect for the next visitors. We absolutely loved working with VIP and not only have and will continue to recommend it to friends and family we plan on using the site and this friendly, helpful company for our next visit.

Comments:We had a wonderful time, and the manager, Mr. Karim Aityounes, was very helpful. The WiFi did not work initially, but the manager took care of the problem.The floors could have been better cleaned (we cleaned them), and we could have used a couple more towels, perhaps two. The owner should have the upholstery of the couch/sofabed (in the living room) cleaned as well since it is stained. On the whole, however, the apartment was fine, and your directions were accurate and easy to follow--a real Godsend after our flight! We can't wait to return! The neighborhood was perfect, and we already miss Paris.

Comments:I stayed in this apartment for three nights in June. I enjoyed how close it was to the Filles du Calvaire metro stop and also appreciated bus service right on the street in front of the apartment. It is located in a "hip" neighborhood; around the corner you will find several nice restaurants and boulangeries. I would recommend Mary Celeste for tapas and Poulane for bread. The apartment itself worked well for one person; generous size in fact. Could easily work for three or four, I think. Overall the apartment was adequate; I would probably choose something a little more updated as this one is in need of some improvments of which the manager is aware.

Comments:This was a return trip to Paris, having been there 25 years ago. This apartment was ideal for our two week stay in Paris, centrally located and easy to find. We used buses and the metro only during our stay and was so easy to get around, the apartment is located just beside the Republic metro station, (10 minute walk). we used the kitchen not as often as we should have, (loved the food and drink and the atmosphere of everywhere we went) . the apartment was clean, large by Paris standards and large by most European standards, small by Canadian standard but having been to Europe before, we were very pleased. Everything you need to see is close by a good walk (Notre Dame) or by metro, we would have a dinner at home and then decide later to go to the Effiel tower, just got on the metro and there in 35 minutes, Loved it, would do it all over again. Everything went just as expected and explained, loved it. Wish you had the same service to other countries, (South America) etc.

Comments:Overall, my stay was wonderful. The place wasn't as immaculate as it felt the previous year but I understand their was a "group" prior to my arrival. The bottle of wine would have been nice but it's always champagne (not a big deal, really.) The TV was too complicated. The instructions did not follow correctly. The manager came in to show me how to work it and I wrote everything down but those didn't match either. He also helped me with the DVD player but it's very old and would not play my DVD's. I would certainly consider staying at the apartment again because of the location but it was a very quiet 10 days and I needed the DVD player for some of my studies. Thanks for everything. Comments:we had a great visit. Very small criticism: I wish the owner had listed the location of the nearest supermarket. We wandered around looking for one, and ended up buying groceries at very expensive convenience stores. On our last day, we found a supermarket a block or so away in a different direction!!!also, when we left, the light in the bathroom blew. I think because of the circuits. In the kitchen, I had a small electrical over the sink light on as well as the coffee pot. Those might be connected on the same circuit. Owner should consider putting in an LED light or something over the sink so as not to draw too much power. All in all, a very nice place!

This apartment was even better than the description. It is actually better equipped than my own place at home with an in house washing machine. Because of the laundry facilities, we packed lightly. The apartment is situated in an area where you can do all your food & other necessity shopping easily. We plan on staying there again soon! I loved this apartment!

However, I received multiple emails asking about the return of the key when I was still in Europe for 3 weeks. So a suggestion would be to keep the date of when the clients return home from their trip AND then nag about the key return. :-)

Comments:Location was fabulous - close to 3 subway stations. Within walking distance of everything we needed. Do like the permanent street markets we found in Latin Quarter (mouffartart SP) which was not available here. But this one closer to attractions we planned to visit - and within walking if we chose that route. And pastry shops, grocery stores etc. within a block. Street quiet and felt very safe. The only negative could use better instructions on how to use washer/dryer which we had to use for towels. Stairs in the building steep and narrow - okay for us but would not recommend for over 70 or with heavy luggage. Furnishings adequate, kitchen pans, dishes stocked well, air conditioner unit noisy. Beds comfortable (even for sofa bed) just a little small by US standards. Okay for 2 of us but maybe a touch small for 4 adults As always, your staff here very helpful in helping us decide on a location and answering any questions we had. Have recommended VIP to others and will continue to use you (probably as soon as next summer/fall) Please convey my gratitude to them. Communication from your staff excellent and even though I know they are busy, always make me feel they have time for me and that I am an important customer. Thanks again.

Comments:When we arrived, around 2:00 in the afternoon, the washer was in use. When it stopped, we took out and folder the towels and sheets and put them in the cupboard, since the bed had been made and there were towels in the bathroom. Later that afternoon, the cleaning lady came to the door and wanted these items from the dryer. When I told her they were folded and in the closet, she was confused and said they belonged in another apartment, but left without taken any of them. We kept thinking that she would make a visit later and get them, but she never did. Overall, the apartment was clean, but the bathroom floor needed further sweeping, as there were hairs on the floor. The duvet on the bed appears to be reused and not washed for each guest, but I can't be sure. The washer was a great frustration. There was no "user manual" for it and the icons on the dials were not familiar and clear as to their function. We more than once ended up with steaming hot, but wet clothes at the end of the wash. Overall, a good property, nicely situated and maintained. Thank you. Not at this time.

Comments:The only reason there was so much noise at night was because the first night there was an gallery opening across the street and the next night there was an opening directly in front of us (Red Wing Shoe Store). Comments:The only instruction booklet the apartment didn't seem to have was for the air conditioner. It was a stand alone, portable a/c unit with a huge pipe coming out of the back which seemed to need connecting to something somewhere but we had no clue what to do with it. Thankfully it was a cold July so it wasn't really needed but if it had been, we would have been disappointed! Otherwise, thoroughly enjoyable and positive experience both with the high standard of the apartment and with extremely professional and efficient VIP organization. Thank you.

Comments:Only noise problem was on one night when a party went on until dawn. Other than that no problem inside or out. Found the journal very helpful with tips from other renters. Comments:We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the apartment for three nights in April. The manager had set up a cot for us in the bedroom so that we did not have to use the sofa bed. The unit was exactly as pictured (which is good!) and a good size for Paris 1 bed apts. The living room was a decent size. My only slight gripe is that the dining table is quite small for 3 people and the tv had only 5 channels. And the elevator in the building is a 1-person size. But you don't really need an elevator since the apt is on the 2nd floor. Overall we had a wonderful time in the apt and would definitely come back!

Comments:The apartment was decent and in a very nice location. The condition of the building up until entering the apartment was below average, and kind of disappointing. The floors were very dirty every day, and the entryway, small patio, stairwell were fairly (not poorly) maintained. The apartment itself was a good value for the price and especially in that neighboorhood. It was a decent size, the heating system was particularly nice (because it was very cold most of the week). The washer/dryer was a huge plus. When we arrived, the apartment smelled like smoke and the windows were opened, probably to air it out. I bought a scented candle which we burned for the 1st few days and it the odor faded. The beds were comfy, with the sofa bed mattress by far being the most comfy, so we slept there. I would recommend this apartment because it is a good value, but I would prepare the renter that though it is comfortable, it is rough around the edges no. i would recommend your services again, and i have already to my neigbor (Jennifer C) she is planning a trip with her sister in October. i told her to book early so that she would have many choices in a good price range

Comments:I realize it is not your problem, but the common areas in the building could use some attention. The carpeting on the stairs and landing is threadbare which is OK, but it looks as if it never gets vacuumed. The entire common area was a bit grimey. Although the apartment was clean some of the minor things could have been cleaner such as the molding on the door of the bathroom, the dust on the lamp shades. It was not a big deal but once in awhile I might address these small areas. There was some noise outside at night but hey, this is the big city, and eventually those people did disburse! I would not say it was a problem per se. Overall, it was a very sunny, cozy, and comfortable apartment. There was certainly adequate storage space as well. The heat was great. We would turn it on in the late afternoon and the apartment would almost immediately warm up. We absolutely loved the location of this apartment. It is probably the 5th apt. we have rented in Paris over the years and it was the best by far! The television and wifi were perfect. I found the key system to be very easy to use. I have been in apartments before where the key is an old skeleton key that you may need to turn and turn before it works. A few ideas we had: 1) provide a small stepstool to reach the microwave. I am short and if my husband had not been with me I would not have been able to get things into and out of the microwave. 2) a shopping cart would be handy for all those wonderful trips foraging for meals on Rue de Bretagne. 3) Maybe an umbrella to use? 4) Consider lowering the water temperature. The hot water was scaldingly hot.

Everything was nice and clean except that it's probably time to replace the area rug in the living room. WE had a great time in paris. Comments:Overall, the apartment was lovely, and you've done a good job of soundproofing it from the outside noise. The main bed was very low to the floor, plus you could feel the springs pressing on you. Not the most comfortable bed, especially since it's a bit smaller than an actual Queen. Since it was just large enough, we didn't use the 2nd bed which would've been the pull out, so i can't comment on it. There were 2 problems with the bathroom: 1) the sink didn't drain well; 2) there needs to be a better anti-slipping mat, or install anti-slip material on the bottom of the tub. Very pretty, but way to slippery, especially for older folks. The little mat in there was completely insufficient. My travel agent referred me and made all the arrangements. That helped immeasurably!

Comments:We loved the neighborhood. It was lively with lots of cafes and shops and we appreciated being so close to Rue de Bretagne as well as to 2 Metro stations. Very convenient. The kitchen was well-equipped and I can only fault it for a lack of counter space. We especially appreciated the combination washer/dryer which was a surprise. The apartment was immaculate. It was a wonderful experience.

Comments:The building entry doors are directly below the bedroom. I've a VERY light sleeper though so for a normal person it probably would not be a problem. Abosulutley no other issues... this is a great apt. in a wonderful part of town. The apartment information packet is perfect, even though we didn't read it and had to call the manager (sorry about that). The only issue we had was that the information packet (or maybe the house folder) said there was a fan in the bathroom, but we couldn't find it.

Comments:Apartment was clean and the security of the building made it safe to leave items in the apartment. There is a safe in the apartment as well, but we didn't use this. The bathroom was surprisingly big (actually bigger than our bathroom in our Nice apartment). The bedroom was a bit tight for two people, but it was comfortable. The area unfortunately was a bit abandoned as many of the shops and bakeries were closed due to the August holiday. It was close to the metro and train station.

The apartment was clean by 2 p.m.

Comments:Directing people to the better shopping and restaurant area to the west of the apartment would be helpful. 1. It was not obvious how to hook up the rolling air conditioning unit. It is an awkward set-up. The manager told us as much (it's awkward) and that they are working on the situation. Renters should have instructions ahead of time on how to deal with this unit. 2. I myself (Carla) was not able to make the trip (sadly!) so I am not able to have you use me as an email reference. My husband provided the feedback above. Because of his work situation, it isn't convenient for him to serve as a reference for others, unfortunately. 3. It was a pleasure working with you. Comments:As advertised, there was a single (folding) bed in addition to a double bed in the bedroom. However, with the folding bed open, the door between bedroom and living room was blocked open, which limits the separation between rooms, if one is really sleeping 5 people in the two double and one single beds. The location was great -- close to everything but not noisy. It would have been nice to have a few more kitchen staples (more than half a roll of paper towel, some plastic wrap or foil, spare trash bags), but it was a very functional kitchen and dining area for our needs. I was very pleased with the VIP rental overall.

Comments:The key was very difficult to use. The lock either needed oiling, which I feared doing in case it wasn't supposed to be oiled, or the keys were badly cut. I felt the cleaner must have known and it should have been sorted. I worried about being locked out or in. I didn't want to hang around waiting for someone to come, so didn't phone anyone about it. Also, the bathtub was so clean it was dangerous for slipping. A safety mat would have been much appreciated. Everything else was perfect. We loved the location and the apartment, and thought the communication by email was first class. We would recommend your firm highly for its reliability and good properties and enjoyed our brief stay in Paris.

Comments:We have stayed on Rue de Turennes before, closer to St Paul metro which is a better location. We were disappointed that the previous occupants had not departed the appartment by 10am -we expected to find the key in the letterbox, but they were still using the appartment. The cleaner did a pretty good job to get the appartment ready by 13 30, but our arrival was a little disappointing. Also the lift stopping at the half floor was not great. The kitchen could be improved by supplying some basic condiments e.g. salt and pepper -it's a pain to have to buy these things in a whole container when travelling. Most people probably eat out, but I had wanted to cook and the supply of kitchen pots and utensils was somewhat limited. We appreciated the acknowledgement that the key got back to your office.

All of these touches helped make us feel very comfortable in the apartment - we loved living in Paris for the week. We hope to return soon and we will of course contact you. This apartment is well located - close to all essentials and easy walking distance to major attractions. The street can get busy with traffic at times. Any chance of Studio Picardie coming back to VIP, or a similiar studio apartment? This one is a good replacement, but the location of Picardie was perfect.

Comments:Small but comfy and well-located. Easy walk to Republique square and the Metro, which is safe, clean and easy to use. Don't think of using the elevator if you are claustrophobic, it's very tiny. The telephone number given to us did not match that in the apartment book. We found that out when the driver called us - I could see him from the window but the phone never rang. Overall, a great deal and the service from VIP was flawless. Highly recommended! We had a great experience and we'd recommend Vacations in Paris to anyone planning a similar pleasure trip. We were able to walk to Notre Dame, the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower from this location and we are in average health. It took a while but if you want to see Paris, this is the way to do it.

We cannot stress the importance of guests writing in the Guest Book! This was our second holiday booked through VIP. Both experiences have been outstanding! And the wine quite good as well! We recommend VIP to anyone who will listen. We're sure to book again. We would recommend the Metro at Arts des Metiers as opposed to Filles du Calvaire for this location for ease of transfers; its only a few short blocks further walk.

Comments:It was unseasonably hot during our stay in Paris and the apartment was very hot. I sent an email to VIP on the chance that they may be able to provide us with an extra fan. I didn't really expect to get one. To my surprise the next day we had a brand new air conditioner delivered to the room. From my original enquiry to the return of the keys VIP were very helpful and always answered my enquiries within 24 hours. I would recommend them to anyone wishing to rent an apartment in Paris. The apartment was beautiful and everyone that I dealt with was extremely helpful.
