Comments:The main thing I'd add: some kind of shelf in the shower. It's very tight in there, and if we were any less flexible, we'd have no way to reach down for the soap, etc. We didn't use the second bedroom, but I think a toilet rather than a shower would be more useful in there. The downstairs neighbor was very quick to bang on the ceiling when we made the slightest bump on the floor. It's an old building ? for all I know it's pretty loud down there. But we were not being loud at all, so I have to assume that the neighbor is maybe harboring lots of pent-up angst about this.

Comments:The location of this apartment is wonderful. The apartment is what you expect from the pictures and worked very well for the four of us. I was hesitant in renting at first because it was our first time in Paris, but it turned out so nice. No problems! We had a wonderful time and the apartment really added some "charm" to the whole experience! We would rent this again.

Comments:We rented this apartment for a week with two friends. The apartment itself was adequate to our needs, although it was a crush with four adults all using one toilet. The listing says the property is capable of sleeping six, which is technically true, but would be utterly impractical. A couple of things that affected our overall experience: 1) There was an infestation of ants in the building (I'm sure we weren't the only apartment affected by this, so it's hardly a specific issue, but it was a little off-putting, especially in the kitchen.) 2) The two burners on the stove-top took some getting used to. When we first turned one of them on it blew a fuse. Fortunately, we had already located the fuse box and could handle this easily. However, this happened on the second occasion we turned on a burner. Again, we handled it. We then discovered that if we turned the burner switch in the opposite direction (i.e. to the right instead of the left), the fuse didn't blow, so we were able to use the stove-top! For future renters, this issue might need to be addressed. 3) The bed in the master bedroom was very uncomfortable. (IKEA strikes again!) Most nights we were too tired from our exertions in the streets of Paris to care, but it almost felt as if the bed was not properly put together. A couple of times we thought it might give way under us - and we are not large people. 4) The condition of the apartment was generally good, and it definitely had charm (the apartment building was wrapped around a tiny cobbled-stone courtyard) but there were little details - such as peeling paint and a bathroom mirror that was so big that whenever we leaned over the sink we hit our heads on it! - that kept us from really being wowed. 5) One of the neighbors is a musician, which didn't bother us because I'm one, too. Frankly, we thought it added some charm to the place - a real Bohemian touch! But I mention it because some people might find it off-putting to hear him practicing his piano scales and vocal warm-ups at odd hours. The Montorgeuil neighborhood is this property's saving grace. This truly is a wonderful part of the city with easy access to every part of Paris. (Closest Metro was 200 yards away.) The pedestrian-only streets were a joy to stroll and explore, and the lack of traffic noise at night was a definite plus, especially as all four of us live in rural areas where there is little or no traffic noise. Because we were so busy, we spent very little time in the apartment, so we were generally pleased with the place. Three of us were frequent visitors to Paris and we all agreed that it made a refreshing change from the usual characterless hotel experience. I would rent this place again, but only for two, and I would recommend it with some of the reservations that I've noted in my comments above. Overall, we enjoyed the apartment, especially in that neighborhood, and would rate it a solid 7 out of 10

Comments:The building residents seem to like to party; also there was some renovation going on. The courtyard amplified the noise, but it seemed to get quieter as the days went by. We probably would not trade the courtyard for more quiet. The apartment was sunny and bright, with fabulous windows! The location was fabulous. Being around the corner from the rue Montorgueil meant that virtually anything we wanted to eat was just a minute or two away. We were fortunate to enjoy great weather as well.

Comments:This apartment was just perfect for our family of five! The arrival instructions and materials provided in the apartment were very helpful and allowed us to make ourselves right at home. With one glaring exception on the Friday night that we arrived, the building and inner courtyard were very quiet. On our first night in the apartment there was a group of young Americans upstairs who were clearly drunk and stayed up talking in loud voices until well after 1 a.m. They were yelled at by a resident around 11 p.m. but kept talking and laughing in loud voices. We had to close our windows to be able to get to sleep, which made it hot and stuffy in the bedroom. I recognize that it was a Friday night, but based on the explicit instructions in our arrival packet to be as quiet as possible after 10 p.m. on weekends, I was extremely annoyed that the neighbors didn't have the same respect for us and our three children. That was, however, the last that we heard of them and the evenings were peaceful after that. The neighborhood was charming and we were able to find everything we needed within one block of the apartment, the shopkeepers and wait staff in the cafes were polite and friendly about our valiant attempts to speak French and were very gracious about helping when our French ran out and we had to revert to Spanish or English, and we felt much more like we were living a "real" Parisian life when we were there than when we went to the big tourist destinations like the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe. The apartment is easy walking distance from the Louvre and Jardin de Tuilleries, and a pleasant walk away from Notre Dame and Sainte Chapelle. There was a Metro within minutes of the apartment, which made it very easy to get to any other part of Paris we wanted to visit. At the big tourist attractions we felt pretty harassed by all the scam artists and pickpockets, but in the Montergueil neighborhood where the apartment is located, we felt very safe and anonymous. We could not get the exhaust fan in the bathroom to work so had to have windows open anytime we were in the apartment to keep it from getting stuffy. The washer/dryer knocks and vibrates in a terrifying manner when it's on the spin-dry cycle (my kids were seriously afraid it was going to explode and I ended up interrupting the cycle and just hanging the clothes up to dry) so I didn't even want to use it at all, regardless of the time of day, because I was afraid it would be too disturbing to the neighbors. Don't know if this is the way it always operates or if something was wrong with it.

Comments:We had a small problem in the bathroom: the shower door was broken and removed. The housekeeper tried to explain the situation and left a shower curtain but her English was poor and we don't speak French. It was difficult to hang and keep the curtain in place. We spoke to the property manager, mainly because we didn't want water to splash all over the bathroom. The next morning someone came and remedied the situation by taping the curtain to the shower. Also, the washer/dryer didn't work very well but we found a convenient laundromat nearby. This was not a big problem for us because we know that European washer/dryers don't work like American versions but the unit in this apartment was exceptionally loud and even though we followed the very clear instructions - thank you! - our clothes still came out wet. These were small inconveniences for us. Overall, the apartment was great: location was fabulous, very clean and the layout was perfect for a 3 adults and 2 kids. Would definitely love to stay at this apartment again.

Comments:The location of this apartment is superb. It could not have been more perfect with easy access to restaurant, groceries and take away food... MARKET ST is the best!!! The apartment is small and we were prepared for that. However, most of the furniture and furnishings are IKEA or IKEA-like - pretty cheap, worn and dated. While we weren't expecting fine French antiques and art, the furniture was below standard. The TV was nothing more than a small computer monitor and really not acceptable for guests. The apartment has peeling paint and scuff marks in several areas - it needs a paint job. See below about the second 'bedroom'. The bathroom has a vanity mirror over the sink, which prevents you from washing your face or brushing your teeth without banging your head on the mirror. Get rid of the vanity - there's enough other storage space in the bathroom! The kitchen is fine for what we needed and it was nice that some staples (salt & pepper, cooking oil, etc) were left behind. Although we didn't expect daily maid service, a quick cleaning and replacement of towels/linens (over 8 days) would have been appreciated. A few things: *My mom booked her airport transfer with you because she wanted to feel safe knowing that your driver would get her to the apartment. They drove around for a LONG time trying to find the street and eventually had to call the property manager to escort them to the correct street. We would have thought that someone that YOU recommend would know where the apartment is. My husband and I simply got a taxi from the airport and he had NO trouble finding the apartment at all. This was disappointing. *The main apartment was nice. We knew that the second bedroom was across the hall and had NO problem with this. Our problem is that the bedroom was not even set up. It was a couch!! We expected to arrive to find a second BEDROOM, not a second living room. You may want to think of putting a proper bed with a nice matress in this second bedroom. *We received the complimentary bottle of wine but for only 2 euros we think maybe this money could go towards more toilet paper! *We didn't like the somewhat threatening information about losing a key or even worse, leaving a key in the door. With an 80 euro replacement key charge and a whopping 800+ euro charge to get a locksmith, this could sure ruin a holiday for a simple mistake. Maybe you should think about extra keys (with 3 adults we could have used another) and get a system where you can't leave a key in the door! *There are several comments about not slamming the doors to avoid disturbing the other residents. While this is common sense, unfortunately, there is simply no way to quietly close these doors!

Comments:We were delighted with the apartment but both front doors need adjustments - they are hard to open and scrape against the floor. Also the door handle going into the main bedroom was falling off. We were missing the bath towel for the fourth person and we were short one duvet cover. The bathroom was a bit tiny but it was very clean and was fine for us. There was outside noise due to construction in the courtyard although they were done by the time we returned to the apartment in the evenings. The apartment was extremely comfortable and we slept well. We loved that the apartment was on a small street and that it was close to the Metro. We also loved the nearby rue Montorgueil with its great food shops. We loved the apartment and our stay in Paris!

Comments:Over-all, the VIP staff were very accomodating and helpful. The Location is excellent, it was very close to Rue Montorguiel, the Subway Stations, VINCI Parking Lot, Lots of Restaurants and Shops and within a quiet street in a safe neighborhood. The apartment is a little dated with two small shower stalls. The kitchen is fairly equipped. The washing machine is difficult to operate and the operator's manual was difficult to follow. There is not dryer therefore the clothes will need to be hung after the wash. The wifi is excellent. The room and the sofa bed is spacious with lots of cabinet space. The smaller room across the hallway is tight and did smell old with a really tight shower stall. The apartment was easy to access and the directions from VIP was excellent and on point. There could have been more towels and the main bathroom could have been a bit more roomier. I would come back to this apartment because of the location, value for the amount paid and the wifi access. The bathroom can also be spruced up a bit. The toilet bowl is extremely small and tight. Your team at VIP are professionals. The instructions you provide for a first time user of this pad was on point. The apartment was truly convenient. I wish there were more choices around the same area. Thanks

Comments:We enjoyed out time in the apartment which is very close to a nice walking street in Paris and very near to two metro stops. It was a very quiet and very safe apartment as anyone would have to come through two gates to get to the door. The pillows were not very good, and the couch was very "used", however, in general we were pleased. We certainly appreciated the help of the New Jersey staff. You all have been terrific! Comments:The main apartment was acceptabl, but we had counted on putting our 2 teenage sons in the apt across the hall which was not big enough for 2. So my husband ended up across the hall; the boys shared the pull out in the living area and my daughter and I had the main bedroom. It worked, but it was not what we had expected from the description. Really liked the neighborhood and location to metro so it in general a nice experience.

Comments:The mirror/medicine cabinet over the bathroom sink should be replaced with just a flat mirror. The sink is small to start with, but with the cabinet over hanging by 5" it makes it very hard to use. There was only 1 small roll of TP as a backup. There is NO WAY the written apartment kitchen inventory matches what is actually on hand. I'm not convinced that the turn of the key to set the dead bolts did anything but make a bit of noise. They may not be lined up correctly. Now, having said all that, we were and are pleased beyond all measure with the property. Wonderful location, and over all quite comfortable. What a joy to return home each night after a day of Paris. Thank you for all your efforts. We will rent from you every time we go to Paris.

Comments:The fair rating in the bathroom was due to only one additional roll of toilet paper for our 1 week rental, not enough for 4 people and 1 week. Also the water pressure in the apartment was awful & for 4 of us to shower daily was a challenge. Plus only 1 towel per person for a weeks rental also was not enough. The area the rental was in was very safe but some of the French only speaking restuarants were rude to us so if people renting this apartment should know is that if the language barrier seems tough the(tourist) English speaking section of Paris is not far only 2 Train stops from the apartment. The apartment is very quite and safe so for that thank you!

Comments:Very satisfied with the apartment. Unit is starting to show some signs of wear with paint peeling in bathroom and behind kitchen table. This didn't bother us, but may be an issue for others. Futon in bedroom and fold out couch were not very confortable. In both cases, the problem was lack of uniform support from the frame and not the futon matress. My back can no longer handle sags in a matress. Also could have used a fresh set of towels at some point during our nine day stay. We had four children with us at the apartment, ages 2, 5, 13, and 16. Our apologies if we disturbed the neighbors. Apartment is great for a family and the location was fantastic. We cooked breakfast every morning and often cooked dinner. The kitchen was small but well equipped and more than adequate. Hardley ever rode the Metro as the central location made for an easy walk to most of the areas that we visited. Neighbors at the apartment complex were very nice and helpful.

Comments:First I will mention the good. The apartment was very clean. The location is incredible. Very lively neighborhood, very safe, you can walk everywhere. Easy metro access. The building is ancient and brings you back in time, simply magical. You cannot find a better location in all of Paris. Three of us (all women) stayed in the apt. for approx. 2 weeks and rented the second "bedroom". The apt. is advertised to accommodate 6 people. Forget that. There is no way this apt. could handle 6 persons for more than 2-3 nights. You would not end up friends. The worn out Ikea couch in the living room was absolutely unacceptable for sleeping on. The black bed frame in the bedroom has sharp edges and takes up the already very limited floor space making it nearly impossible to access the closet. Remove the coffee table and bric-a-brac in the living room. All this stuff takes up valuable floor space and there is no place to put the coffee table if you dare to try and sleep on the pull out bed/couch. The kitchen really needs some equipment updating (as mentioned by previous tenants). The knives are dangerously dull, no whisk, no mixing bowl, no measuring utensils, tiny coffee mugs. The microwave does not grill as indicated. Sink is too shallow, you can't wash dishes without flooding the counter. Need more dish towels. Only one (Teflon & very pitted) frying pan. How about a toaster oven? The washing machine does NOT dry. A typical wash cycle takes at least 4 hours. No clothes drying rack. No broom or dust pan for sweeping up. No extra trash bags supplied for taking out the garbage. English signs around the apt. ask tenants to be considerate of others who live in the building. The noise from the upstairs apt. at all hours was horrible. There was a strange cleaning lady that comes at 3 or 4:00 AM and scrubs the stairs outside the 2nd "bedroom". and works in the courtyard. She destroyed two night's sleep. The door to the second bedroom needs serious adjusting. When you open it, it hits the tile floor and makes a very loud horrible noise that echos throughout the building. You cannot open this door all the way. There needs to be a duplicate key made available for the 2nd bedroom. I had this ongoing fear I would lock the key in the 2nd bedroom. You cannot access the 2nd bedroom without the key or leave it unlocked for easy access between the main apt. so you are always carrying it back and forth. The apartment needs sturdy coat hooks. Since we visited in the winter we were always finding the need for a place to hand coats. The apt. "users" manual needs to be update. It references many things that aren't supplied or are current. I would not mislead people into thinking this apartment was big enough for 6 people because it is not. We booked the apartment with a discounted winter rate. The full rate for this apartment would not be worth it. Despite the above mentioned, we had a great stay. The reason I mention things in the comments is so that the next visitors will have a better stay than we did. The mentioned items are not expensive considerations and would make staying in the apartment much more pleasant for anyone.

Comments:I would definitely rent with Vacations in Paris again. The staff was just wonderful. Quick to respond, informative, thorough, professional - yet very kind. The cleaning woman was at the apt when we arrived. She spoke no English, but was so kind. Very accomodating and did a good job of cleaning. However, the apartment was extremely small. Much smaller than the pictures appeared. It would be better for two people rather than 5. The 2nd 'apartment' was like a closet. There could be more light. The one lamp in the living room was a small bedroom type lamp..and it did not work. The area was fabulous - central to everything. Really enjoyed that. If we had fewer people, the apartment itself would have been ok. The security was 1st rate and it was very quiet. We had a nice time in Paris despite Bruno and the staff of Vacation in Paris, especially Debbie and Jan, were just fantastic.

Comments:I came in the morning after 9:30 and the apartment seemed clean, but there was no bottle of wine. I had been traveling all night so I made the bed and had a nap then went to the airport to meet up with my travel companion who was arriving that afternoon. When we came back at 3:30 the maid was there in the apartment cleaning. This menas that I had used the towels and bed linens from the previous tenant. Not a great feeling. That being said, the woman did clean the apartment extremely well. The only other issue was the neighbours directly above -- everything was heard from their open windows and at all hours. I guess that's a part of living in a neighbourhood and can be expected. Otherwise, the apartment was great and we enjoyed our stay immensley.

Comments:Beautiful neighborhood, friendly neighbors - a lovely, secure apartment with easy access to so many must-see attractions. A wonderful area to experience the true flavor of Paris! Thank you as this is the second time we have used your service and so we never hesitated this time. Your staff have been friendly, informative and professional which assured me that any apartment booked through your service we would not be disappointed with.

Comments:Best location in the City - it truly MADE our trip to be located where we were! An AMAZING AMAZING neighborhood to stay in. Only minor complaints: some of the neighbors (especially the man living above us) were EXTREMELY loud some nights (and VERY late at night), the rooms did feel crowded with 4 grown-ups and a child - would come again with a smaller group and would DEFINITELY have liked a change of towels/linens as we were there just over a week (and we never could figure out how to use the dryer). Also, there was a definite "musty almost urine" smell in the smaller room (had to buy a scented candle). But again, the location made up for ALL of it - loved, loved, loved the area! Will definitely come back to Paris and will definitely stay in that neighborhood again! Had a wonderful time, merci beaucoup!

Comments:The location was perfect, very convenient to everything. The only recommendation I would make is that either 1. the same key is used for both apartments or 2. an extra key is kept with the small apartment keys so that the people staying in that room have access to the main apartment, and more importantly the toilet, all the times. This was the only minor problem we encountered....everything else was perfect!

Comments:While the apartment, location and furnishings generally were generally good or better, several items need attention for the comfort of future guests: the door of the second (smaller apartment sticks quite badly, making it difficult to shut without slamming it; the ironing board is virtually falling apart; the wifi either doesn't work, or the wrong codes are provided; many of the inventory items are not there e.g. there are only 4 glasses - not the dozen or so on the list; the bathroom bin is broken. That said we were generally very happy with the apartment.

Comments:No A/C. Be careful in August. The guy upstairs alarm woke us up everyday at 6am. Also, dryer doesn't dry clothes. Other than that, very nice apt, great location. Your staff is superb.

Comments:Two of the five nights we were kept awake by the noise in the courtyard by the residents. We had no way of drying our small, thin, inexpensive towels because the towel warmer did not work. By the end of the week we were using permanently damp and wet towels. The book that is left for renters in the apartment discusses the fact that if the keys to the smaller apartment should be left inside by mistake and a locksmith needs to be called the fee was astronomical.

Comments:The apartment was lovely & bright, smaller than the web picturers would lead you to think but perfect for 4, would be tight for 6. We didn't use the seperate bedroom as both my daughters used the sofa bed in the main apartment. The lack of toilet facility in the seperate bedroom was slightly off putting ( if you had to 'go' during the night a trip across the hallway bring a key for both doors was necessary!). We had an ant problem near the bathroom door but put down insect powder & this helped. Note : a small dustpan and brush would be helpful rather than having to take out the hoover - hoovering feels to much like being at home! After reading the visitors book in the apartment we seemed to be the first Europeans using the apartment - although you are US based it would be well appreciated by all. We will certainly be recommending it to our Irish friends, I have passed on the Web address to friends and work colleagues.

Comments:The bottle of wine was on the table which was great - except there is no corkscrew to open it with! For all the admonitions about being quiet one of the neighbor couples had a very loud argument at 2 AM. WiFi info was not accurate & had to use the ethernet.

Comments:This was a very beautiful apartment in a quiet area in Paris. There were just a few issues that we had that need improving. The tenants above us were very noisy. The noise was mainly heard from the smaller apartment. The tenants had their TV on loud during very early mornings and late night. They may have had the TV on while sleeping. They also slammed their door a few times. The sofa bed was not very comfortable for sleeping, but in great condition for just sitting. The bathroom was beautiful and the shower was new and very clean. The bathroom does have a problem with ants around the bottom of the shower, though. The kitchen was small, but equipt and very clean. Excellent refrigerator, everything stayed cold including ice cream. Over all, I would rate this apartment as above average, especially for the location. We were very close to the Louvre, and if we had stayed in a hotel we would have spent a fortune. I would definately recommend this apartment and this company for vacation rentals.
