Comments:This apartment was very nice, clean, secure. It is located in a perfect location and in walking distance to many attractions and metro stations. We took the RER to/from the airport and it was just a straight stretch. Once we got off it was an easy 4 minute walk to the apartment. The property manager was nice. The only problem was the neighbors across the hall were too noisy but not enough to wake me up at night (although I heard them while I was sleeping). In addition, it would have been nice to have an electrical outlet in the bathroom. Overall, this is a great place to stay. This is the 4th apartment rental I have had with VIP and I am always pleased. I look forward to my next rental with VIP.

Comments:This is an amazing value for money. The location is prime and there is so much to do-all within easy walking distance. I have stayed here before and will do again in the future! Only minor detail is that the water in the shower is very slow to go down!!! Thanks so much for your kind assist over the years. Vacation in Paris is a super company and I have highly recommended your company yo many of my friends over the years.

Comments:Hello, we had a very nice stay. The apartment is very convenient and charming. However, because there is only one window to a shaft, there is no natural light at all. Joseph advised us not to open the window. The apartment is so dark and quiet, it is disorienting. So, although we enjoyed our stay, I would prefer to try a different apartment next time. I would absolutely rent from VIP again. VIP is an amazing company. Your customer service is above excellent. Every email and question I had was promptly answered. All the communication was completely clear. I had a great experience with VIP: A++! Thank you very much.

Comments:While I loved the property, it lacked one crucial element -- SUNLIGHT. I know there's nothing you can do about this, but it is what would prohibit me from renting it again. I would recommend it to a friend -- with this caveat. Other than the sunlight issue (which admittedly is a bit misrepresented in the photos), the studio, the building, the location -- all were excellent, especially for the price. This is truly "constructive" criticism. I was very happy with your service. However, in the future, I will be more careful to ask about the amount of sunlight in a prospective rental. It really makes a huge difference. Love your service!!!

Comments:We have stayed in your properties one or more times annually since 2002; we love Paris and we love your properties. We always get excellent locations and outstanding value. I particularly love Scarmouche because it is right on Rue Montorgruel and handy both to the RER and many different Metro lines. Since we decided not to buy a property in Paris (we built another 'retirement' residence in another location) we will continue to use your services as long as you continue to provide them. Thank you again for a lovely stay -- our next is tentatively scheduled for two weeks in November 2016.

Comments:Airconditioning MUCH appreciated, especially since there is no air flow in the apartment. Fantastic location (I know the area well). Great for 2 people but I would say VERY tight for four... (not much privacy and in fact only 3 chairs for the table!). As someone who cooks a lot, I appreciated the oven (and would have used the dishwasher a lot!) but would have loved some sharp knives (and more than one wine glass!). the bed was SUPER comfortable, I slept so well! The TV shelving area needs a good once over - lots of the information in the photocopied pages is from years ago (2008 and before). Would be great to have somewhere to actually store your suitcases once you have unpacked. Also, a clothes drying rack would be useful. The shower drains VERY slowly and in investigating why (I couldn't pull the drain out to see if it was blocked), I found the top metal part that covers the drain was completely covered in gunge underneath - I cleaned that out but the drain still drains slowly.

Comments:WOW! I traveled with my 2 children for a week in Paris, and we loved the location and the GREAT neighborhood it's located in. Anything you need for your stay is within a 3 minute walk. There is even an underground mall after a short 5 minute walk with all the major department stores. The one caution I will share is it's small. It's the size of a typical hotel room in America. We didn't need the space since 90% of our time was exploring the city, but if you're traveling with more than 3 people it would be a very tight fit. Two people it's perfect. Most all of the major attractions are with in a 15 -20 minute walk, excluding the Eiffel Tower and it took us about 30 minutes to get there. The Metro is with in a 10 minute walk which will take you anywhere in the city you want to go, and you can get to and from the Charles de Gaulle airport without any issues using the Les Halles metro station on the B line. We cannot say enough good things about this studio apartment... Thanks Vacations in Paris accepting our request so we could truly experience Paris in this great part of the city! More towels. One towel per person per stay is not enough. The washer and dryer combo just is not strong enough to really do laundry so washing the towels is really not an option until you want to lay them out to dry all over the place which really isn't practical. It's small I do not think 4 people could comfortably stay there.

Comments:The shower drained very slowly. Perhaps this is something to look into, or perhaps it is just because of the age of the building. If this is the case, and it can not be fixed, it would be nice if it was mentioned in the materials inside the apart The neighborhood was wonderfully convenient. However, next time we would like to stay in an apartment that had a window where you could get a breeze. This unit had a window, but you really shouldn't open it, as it was only to a small air shaft.

Comments:The shower was odd, the step up made it difficult to get in and out, but the hand rail helped. I don't recall reading about a step up into the shower and while I was able to handle it fine (although slowly as the shower was slippery), if it's not noted in the apartment description, it should be as it could pose a problem for others. Otherwise, the apartment was perfect, as described and met every one of my needs. Nothing at all, this was my second stay using VIP and I can't wait to go back to Paris and use you again!!!

Comments:The linen and towels in the apartment definitely needs to be renewed better ones put in. Otherwise the fittings are fine and for a short stay very adequate. The window looks into a light well, it feels somewhat isolated inside and there is little awareness of what the weather is really like outdoors. That is a disadvantage but on the other hand there is no outside noise to disturb you. The location of this studio apartment is excellent and that makes a return to the apartment worhty of consideration when I next visit Paris.. Its proximity to major attractions such as the Louvre, Saint Chapelle and Notre Dame etc and the Chatelet al Halle transportation hub makes it an ideal base for exploring much of Paris. The Studio is very small, which of course is not atypical of Parisian studios. Whilst two can be comfortably share the space, any additional persons would make it cramped. There is another VIP listing next door, UD 79, which is a one bedroom apartment and having used both I would recommend that one bedroom over this studio by a very big margin. Obviously costs are different but it is definitely worth considering that option. Two housekeeping aspects need review - 1) the towels and linen is in poor condition and should be replaced; 2) the lock on the front door is difficult to operate and perhaps could do with some service.

Comments:We especially liked the location(once we got our bearings) . We were able to walk or take public transportation to most major attractions in the city. The local shops were very good so we could get good food for meals or eat out at a reasonable price. The construction in the adjourning property was noisy when we arrived (and needed quiet jet lag time), but after the first day we were not there during the day. We would have appreciated more than 2 towels (I personally use 1 for my hair & and 1 for my body.) The shower "grab rail " (where you could adjust the shower up & down) Was reported loose by a previous renter in the guest journal. (It came off the wall) I have recommended VacationinParis to many people! Recommending a driver from the airport was really important. We would not have found the apartment without the taxi ride.

Comments:The apartment was great. It had everything you would need and the locaton is the best in Paris. Managenent was really good. They called upon arrival and again before departure to be sure everything was OK. The apartment was a bit too small for us but would work very well for a single occupant. We knew this before we went so it is not a criticism as our biggest concern was making sure we were in this great location so it all worked well for us. VIP is the best agency. We have highly recommended you to our fellow travellers

Comments:As many people noted in the comment book located in the property, the shower drain drains slowly. But in my opinion, it is not as bad as everyone has commented. Maybe give people a heads up that the manager will call. We didn't answer at first and when the manager called again, we picked up. The other times the phone rang it was telemarketers. The neighbor above us smoked outside his window and played music and had dinner until late (3 a.m. one night) in the night. As a result smoke often came into the apartment while we were sleeping. As it was pretty warm in Paris during the week we were there, we had to turn on the AC instead of having the window open. Once we starting running the AC at night instead of having the window open, it was not a problem anymore.

Comments:I think the noise from inside the apartment was probably more noticeable to me, because with the TV not working I was unable to have any background noise going through the day and evening. I think the people upstairs liked moving furniture around in bigh heeled shoes of an evening, and there may have been some sort of construction near by during the day, as it sounded like a drilling sound - although it could have been a sewing machine next door. I think these are things that you are able to put up with for a short length of time though. Thank you for your excellent service - both before I left home and while I was in Paris.

On more than one evening, we bought fresh produce, cheese, wine and bread from the shops along our street and enjoyed an authentic Parisian meal in our "home away from home." It is close to the metro and it is very easy to get anywhere you want to go from the apartment. The futon bed isn't the most comfortable, but the location more than makes up for that! Comments:This is a lovely little apartment in what I feel is the best arrondissement in Paris. The only thing that I think could be improved is the door to the bathroom. It's a sliding door that does not have a track along the bottom edge, which causes the door to swing. It is impossible to shut properly, which means you have little privacy in the bathroom! Also, the bathroom sink leaks around the drain pipe. This should be repaired since the vanity is made of wood and will be damgaged by the water.

Comments:This apt is probably better suited for youth as the area is always active. The apt tentants came in and out of the building at all hours and always slamed the door to insure it was closed. This was loud during the middle of the night for us. It might be helpful to list the views or lack there of in descriptions of apts. It may have been listed and I did not see it. I made a mental note to myself to check for this in future bookings. For us, it is also not needed to have a dishwasher or washing machine...we would have appreciated more space rather than these items but understand the practicality of the appliances.

Our only complaint (very minor) was that the pillows were a little thin and not so comfy, but we survived! I'm not sure how comfortable the apt would be for 4 people but it worked well for 2. We also used Global Transfer Services as suggested in your info pkg. The driver was a few minutes late picking us up at CDG but other than that it worked like a dream. Comments:We don't drink so asked that there not be a bottle of wine so that's why we didn't find it. It would have been a nice touch if there had been something else to replace it eg. small box of chocolate. I wouldn't rent this unit again because of the lack of an outside window. I would pay more next time and get something slightly larger with an outside window. The location was fantastic though. We were a little disappointed that we were not given a slight discount due to the fact that the courtyard was under construction and was totally closed off to all light. This made the apartment feel like a basement room or an inside cabin on a cruise. The shower in the bathroom was fabulous! Lots of nice hot water.

Comments:The last two questions would change to yes if you put in a new mattress and did some general upgradings such as the kitchen baseboards and stove surround. Also the air conditioner was very noisy but did appreciate it as it was warm and muggy outside! One very important point, we woke up to no water on our first morning and we needed to be out the door by 8;30 AM the latest and your manager does not respond before 9AM!!!! We were extremely angry with this as emergencies such as this need to be responded to immediately. We could have lost the equivalent of $120 due to missing our tour! And my husband ran out to a local business to get a pail of water. Perhaps a building contact number in such a case would be useful for the room. We would use your company again.

Comments:The first night I arrived there was a great deal of noise outside the apartment that went on into the night. One other night I was there, someone in the building was having a party and it was very noisy then as well. The other nights it was fine. The air conditioner drowned out most of the noise. While the apartment is small, it is definitely comfortable. we used just the queen bed and not the futon, which would have made it very cramped. The apt was generally very clean except the cleaning staff obviously doesn't necessairly get UNDER some of the furnitre and the top of the wardrobe was very dusty. Kitchen was spotless. The appliances were all very good and easy to use. The apt could use some hooks on the inside back wall of the wardrobe, and on the right side of the wardrobe (outside) as well. The kitchen could use some under-the-counter lighting. As small shelf with a light would be helpful for those persons who have to sleep against the wall in the queen bed. The bathroom was excellent. Plenty of hot water an the towels were yummy! The instructions left were very clear with the one exception of the mention of Global Transfer Services. We did use them,. but the instructuions gave no email, web site, or phone numebr for them so I had to find that a different way. They sent a super cute driver to pick us up and he came right to the front of the bldg - very convenient. I would use this apartment again and would certainly recommend it and your services to friends and family. The location could not have been better. Rue Montorgeuil is awesome! Your NJ staff was always very informed and helpful for the entire rental process. I even mailed to ask for a number while in Paris and they responded quickly. I felt the price we paid for this apt was very comparable to what I would have paid for a US hotel room, without all the great amenities - excellent value.

Comments:The neighborhood was fantastic; shops and restaurants are all around and wonderful. The proximity to the metro was nice as well. The apartment itself was much smaller than anticipated. I would possibly stay there again if there were only 2 of us but this apartment was very small for 4 adults. The beds were almost on top of each other and the small bathroom lacked privacy (the door was a slide door that did not close). I would absolutely rent from Vacation in Paris again as I found the staff to be very helpful with the reservation process and I really liked receiving the key prior to leaving the USA so we did not have to be concerned with meeting a representative. I have already referred your company to a co-worker for September! Thank you.

Comments:My daughter and I loved the area and the apartment was just big enough for us. I do not think it would accomodate four adults but maybe two adults, two children. We loved the wine that was left for us and in fact looked for another bottle locally and could not find it. The local italian restaurant, the Italian deli and all of the boulangerie's we tried were outstanding. The entire process beginning with making the reservation to showing up at the nice clean Scaramouche apartment was great. In fact, I have already reserved another of your apartments for an October, 2011 stay.

Comments:There are many great things about this apartment! (1) First and foremost is the location. As every review has said, it is in walking distance to many interesting sites, and near the charming market street, Rue Montorgueil. There is also a street market on Sundays and Thursdays at nearby Rue Montmartre. (2) The apartment was very clean. We arrived while it was still being prepared and had the opportunity to meet the manager, who was friendly and helpful. (3) The bed and pillows were very comfortable. (4) It has a great shower with plenty of hot water. (5) It has almost every amenity one could ask for. We had a couple of warm days during our stay and the air conditioning worked well. We also appreciated the speed of the coffee maker, since we once had one in France that took 45 minutes. It is very convenient to have a dishwasher and washer/dryer. The TV is glitchy and cuts in and out, but it does work. The Internet worked well, and the free phone calls to North America are a very nice bonus. (6) This is our second experience with Vacation in Paris, and our transactions with them have been very smooth. Here is why we can only give it 3 stars, however. (1) It would not be an honest review if I did not admit that I was disappointed when I saw the apartment. The photos make it look larger, brighter, shinier, and more chic than it actually is. It is small and rather dark. Compared to many Paris hotel rooms, however, it is a good size and with all the amenities, an excellent value....and it grew on us as the week went on. It's just that I made the selection based upon the photos and had something else in mind. (2) The main problem, however, was that we had continuous problems with neighbor noise. In the information booklet, we were admonished about noise levels and how the French respect privacy and quiet. Someone needs to tell some of the other residents! Our first night was a Saturday and throughout the night (midnight, 3:00 o'clock, 4:00 o'clock....) people were coming and going, trampling on the stairs, and speaking loudly to each other. The next few nights were quiet, so we just chalked it up to the weekend. Maybe they were blowing off steam and partying after a long work week. On Wednesday night, however, there was noise all night long: running up and down the stairs, talking, laughing, scraping furniture across the floor, banging things, watching television....We never figured out exactly what they were doing, but there did not appear to be any attempt to keep the noise down. The next night was not quite as bad but we were still awakened in the middle of the night by loud footsteps and talking on the stairs. I see that several other reviewers commented on the quietness of the apartment and how they were not bothered by neighbor noise, so perhaps our experience was unusual...but when you cannot sleep night after night, it affects your vacation. (3) One other minor complaint is the bathroom door. It is a sliding door but does not fit well. If you are a private person, you might feel uncomfortable. It is also right next to the bed, with the light on the bedroom side. It is pretty much impossible for one person to use the restroom in the middle of the night without awakening the other, because the light and fan come on while the door is open. In summary, it's a good value in a great location with a few problems.

Comments:The apartment was in a great location and the modern appliances were nice to have. We found the washer particularly useful. There was a small but well equipped stock of kitchen equipment so that making meals was easy. There were 2 drawbacks to this apartment- the size and the lack of a window. It was a fine size for a couple (and probably larger than a hotel room), but I would not have been comfortable with 2 other people even though there was an extra pullout bed. The window looked on to an air shaft and since it is on the 2nd floor, this meant there was no natural light. A large fan and AC allowed for air flow, but we missed the daylight. Next time, we will look for an apartment with windows facing the street. Other than that we had a great stay!

Comments:We had a wonderful stay in our Paris apartment. There were only three things that could have used improvement: (1) slow drainage in the shower (2) more natural light - the one small window looking out onto a 'light well' provided very little natural light. It made it difficult to wake up in the morning! More light would be the best improvement to the apartment. (3) The complimentary bottle of wine was terrible! Considering how cheap decent wine is in France, we think you should shell out for a bottle of wine that is drinkable! We were very happy with the customer service. We received the keys well before we left home, it was very easy to send them back to VIP in the envelope provided (much appreciated), and it all went very smoothly. We appreciated how well VIP staff communicated with us via email. Very, very happy with our stay - we loved it and would recommend it highly to others!

Comments:We LOVED the location of this apartment and really got to know the shopkeepers on the market street. We absolutely want to stay in this neighborhood again. We did notice that there were no butter knives in the apartment. We requested at the local email, but got neither a response, or the butter knives. I had brought extra cooking supplies with me, so we managed, but 4 knives would have been helpful. Also, it took us some time to figure out how to work the faucets- they're different than anything we'd seen before, and some instruction on how to use them would be beneficial. I actually called the manager the first time because I thought the water wasn't working. The kitchen could have been a bit better stocked- I was glad that I had brought extra cooking gear with me. I sharpened all the knives in the apartment because they were very dull. I recommend a 6-8qt dutch oven/stockpot- something that can be used on the stove and in the oven. Also, 1 or 2 oven safe baking dishes would be nice. I had to buy one while in town- not a big deal as I'm a cook, and it was a nice souvenir to take home, but something along those lines would have also been helpful. There was 1 large and 1 small cutting board. an additional large one would have also been helpful- again I traveled with my own, so I was ok- but for future renters, that would also be helpful. We hope that we can return to Paris, and to this neighborhood in the next year or so. We're hoping that we can permanently relocate to France in the next two years. We will absolutely use VIP the next time we come to France. Thanks again!

Comments:We were very pleased. One strong suggestion I would make is that you should place a bar on the wall to use when getting out of the shower. It would be very easy for someone to misjudge the elevation (or forget about the elevation) and have a serious fall. Perhaps a small bathtub would be safer? Also something should be done about the bathroom door. It doesn't close and offers no privacy (or escape from bathroom aroma) When we opened the window for some air, a strong gust of cigarette smoke immediately filled the apartment. Also, the light cover on the hall light came crashing down and smashed on the floor in front of our door. We took a lot of time and care to get it cxleaned up.

Comments:The kitchen itself is designed nicely but it is the most poorly equipped kitchen of any of the VIP apartments i have rented over the last 7 years. To be on a great market street but to have not one pan that can be used in the oven was a real disappointment. no trips to the boucherie, no pot large enough to cook fresh pasta from the Italian traiteur... this kitchen only has one large skillet, one small pot, and one small sauce pan. There isn't even a toast rack that can be used in the oven much less a toaster. Also, since the pics were taken, a washer/dryer and air conditioner have been added making it very cluttered. there is a side table, upside down, behind the air conditioner preventing the air conditioner from being rolled out of the way and the table form being used. the kitchen table now has to be moved in order to open the refrigerator door. lastly, we bought napkins and toilet paper to use in the apartment and left the extras for the next guests who were checking in that day. When I returned to the apartment to pick up my luggage, the cleaning woman was there and had removed the napkins and TP from the cabinets and placed them under the bed in the locked storage area instead of leavign them for the next guests. I thought that was strange. I was pleased as always with the great customer service form VIP and pleased with the apartment in general. Just noting the above items as they are small things that if adjusted, would make the apartment much better.

Comments:Apt. was great but next time I would like one with a useable window. The window faced another apt. and couldn't be used for daylight to get in so there was a cavelike feeling. It could be noisy inside but we feel that's to be expected in a dwelling in a city with so many people. The conveniences were excellent as is the location in proximity to all the attractions. Please stress to travelers, that beyond a shadow of a doubt, the potential for pickpocketing is imminent unless a bag is worn under the coat! It would help people to know which exit to take out of Chatelet Les Halles station because it can be very confusing to know which direction to take.

Comments:Apartment was extremely clean upon arrival. The only area that needed attention was the top of the medicine cabinet in the bathroom, which had obviously not been dusted in quite some time. This is noticeable when one is standing in the shower, as the shower is raised a foot or so off the ground. There was a thick layer of dust there, but otherwise VERY clean! I rated the bed as a "5" for "Average" because my husband and I personally found the mattress to be quite firm, but it was at least in good condition! Linens and towels were also rated a "5" for "Average" because we had one nice, soft bath towel and one very scratchy, bath towel that was smaller than the other one. I would be raving about how fantastic this apartment is, if it weren't for the problem with the air conditioning that we encountered. The exhaust hose repeatedly fell out of the wall, several times per day and several times per night, pumping hot air into the room. Otherwise, the A/C was very efficient, but this hose problem bordered on unacceptable. No amount of duct tape would hold it up. If this issue is fixed, I would have no problem happily recommending this apartment to others! I learned of VIP from the Paris forums on www.tripadvisor.com. A lot of discussion goes on there about the various apartment rental companies, and everyone speaks highly of VIP. I will now be one of those people!

Comments:This apartment is perfect for 1 person or a couple. The locations can't be beat, been to Paris many times and always try to stay close to this area! The only 'slight' negative would be that there are no windows that can be opened to see outside. The only window opens into a small (like 4 x 4 small) shaft that had constant heat coming from other apartment vents into it. Also had to keep the window closed and blind drawn since the other apartment windows were literally a couple feet away and could see into our apartment (which is a problem when the apartment is a studio!). I have used Vacations in Paris several times now and have never been disappointed. This trip to France included 6 women and 3 of your apartments! We thoroughly enjoyed the area around rue Montorgueil and the apartments (all on the same street) made our vacation very special.

Comments:the apartment was much smaller than envisioned, but still comfortable enough for three women. We didn't cook, so can't really comment about the stove, nor use the dishwasher (just washed dishes & used washer as drying rack). But we did use the clothes washer/dryer successfully and appreciated the somewhat noisy air conditioner. All in all it was a wonderful experience and more than anything else we appreciated the intimacy of the place (as opposed to a hotel) and especially the location. Rue Maria Stuart, Etienne Marcel and all other little streets and markets around ther were more than we had hoped for. And we walked to the Siene and the Louvre, etc. Found it easy to get public transportation. Loved our stay. The cleaning woman was there when we arrived and she was so polite as well as friendly. Thank you so much. We hope to return someday. Just that we were so pleasantly surprised by our surroundings. All the markets, boutiques, small friendly restaurants. And yet it isn't a place referred to in our tourist manuals - which made it even more wonderful. Each morning, my daughter got up, put on coffee then skipped down to the market place to return with pastries and quiche for breakfast. Heavenly.

Comments:The major drawback to this apartment is that there is NO daylight and no sky at all, as the only window looks on to a shaft or well. This is why I would not use it again or recommend it, and why it is not as good value for money as it would be if one were inclined to use it and go back to it more. The location is splendid, the furnishings adequate; minor points are that the sink is in a strange place in the kitchen, and not well lit; also, as usual in France, towels are rather small, but for a few days this is fine. We appreciated free phone to communicate between us (we were four groups each with one apartment from Vip) and with manager. I know the French do not use kettles as frequently as we do in the UK, but this small addition to the equipment would be very useful. In spite of all the small criticisms above, these apartments (4 in all for our family) gave us both the facility to be together AND some private space when needed. The location of 3 of them (29, 79 and 179) was superb, that of 199 less so, but fortunately not too far from us. For families with children, this is a much better solution than hotels. Thank you for all your help since November 2009, when I started 'hunting' for these apartments. We had rented Studio Ste Anne previously, and found it also very well located and convenient.

The only things missing were forks and a wine bottle opener that I could work (more my issue than yours!). The bed and futon were very comfortable. We had lots of hot water and pressure in the shower and the heated towel bars were very appreciated. Also appreciated was the air conditioning unit, a real plus in a Paris rental apartment. We loved the area and can't wait to return! I have mailed the keys back today (May 25). We really enjoyed the service we received from VIP and would not hesitate to use your agency again and to recommend it to others. Comments:They've packed an amazing number of amenities into a very small space. That said, if I could change anything, I'd probably add a power strip near the cable/Internet area, since it's difficult now to plug in a laptop and use the Ethernet (and the wifi, while it worked fine, isn't nearly as fast as the direct cable). And I might try to store the air conditioner off site during the winter months -- it eats up a lot of room, especially given the size of the apartment. But these are quibbles: We had a great time here, and the neighborhood was perfect. (My traveling companion would come in every morning from buying her breakfast croissant, exclaiming that Rue Montorgueil looked like a Disney version of Paris it was so cute.) This is my second experience with VIP, and I'm still incredibly pleased by how easy you make it -- I've rented homes in several countries, and these are by far the smoothest experiences I've had. Hope to do business with you again one of these days.
