Located in an amazing Art Deco building from 1937 designed by Bruno Elkouken, this apartment is a great pied-à-terre and sure to please. While the apartment is located on the 6th European floor (7th US) with an elevator, you’ll definitely want to admire the gorgeous Art Deco staircase. It was even featured in the French film “Tanguy” at the end of the movie. It's sleek and curvy with a red stair runner and brass handrail...what a welcome! As you enter the apartment, you’re greeted with a light and bright home…so many windows that overlook the boulevard below. And if you look out the window to the left, you can see the Eiffel Tower in the distance…just imagine when she does her evening twinkles. Warm hardwood floors, crisp white walls and pops of color throughout. The living room has a comfy sofa and two armchairs so you can enjoy catching up on your day or listen to some music. It’s just a great place to relax and enjoy being in Paris. Next to the living area you’ll find the dining room with more windows, a table that seats up to four comfortably, and wall of books should you decide to catch up on some reading.
The owners love cooking, so it’s well-stocked with everything you’ll need, including a dishwasher for those who hate doing dishes, and a full-size refrigerator and freezer. There’s a double sink with a window, all the pots and pans you could imagine, a Nespresso machine and Italian coffee maker for all the coffee lovers. A four-burner induction stove top, microwave and wall oven will allow you to cook a great meal from one of the local markets or just to reheat some take-out.
The bedroom is located next to the kitchen with a large window overlooking the courtyard, a large closet and plenty of drawers that provide lots of storage. A double bed will give you a restful sleep so you're ready for the day.
The bathroom is across from the bedroom and has a modern Art Deco feel – large black and white tiles on the wall, with a sleek bathtub and vanity sink. You’ll find the washing machine discreetly tucked away in a cabinet, and while there isn’t a dryer, the towel warmer is perfect for drying some items. There’s plenty of counter and drawer space to store your personal items, and a large mirror. Kindly note that the bathtub is tall and deep, so anyone with mobility issues will need to be careful.
This neighborhood was a famous gathering place for artists of all kinds in the 1920s. Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Giacometti, Modigliani, and Man Ray were just some of the renowned artists who gathered in the nearby cafés and restaurants. La Coupole, La Closerie des Lilas, Le Dome and Le Select are still in the neighborhood, and imbued with historic atmosphere and provide excellent meals. A selection of first-class bakeries, and perhaps the best, certainly the most expeinsive, fish store in Paris is a 5-minute walk away. Nearby outdoor markets are open twice weekly. Transport is easy with just a 5-minute walk to the Metro and RER.
This apartment requires a "Meet and Greet" - guests will be met at the apartment by the local manager and given keys at that time.
