Apartment Keys and Arrival
Information
In most cases, the apartment keys are sent directly to the guest
prior to their leaving home. There are a few apartments in which the
property meets guests at the apartment and the key is handed over
then (in such cases, the keys are to be left in the apartment on the
departure day). For all reservations where the keys are received prior
to arrival, it is the responsibility of the guest to send the keys back
to our US office within 5 days of departure from the property - a self address mailer is included with
the keys for this purpose, insure the package for the equivalent
of 120 € (or $150 US). If you fail to ship the keys within 5 days and
this delay causes another guest to pay an arrival fee, you will be
charged the cost of that arrival fee.
For security reasons, DO NOT carry the keys and
the address of the property together. In such cases where the keys are
lost with the apartment information, the guest will bear the cost of
changing door lock and having new keys made, a cost that may exceed
$500.
It is possible that unexpected delays in key returns and for last minute bookings,
the guest will be met at the rental property and handed the keys.
In such cases, the guest will be provided with specific information and instructions that
need to be followed to ensure a smooth
arrival.
Renting an apartment is not
like renting a hotel room in that to have a smooth arrival
there is specific pre-arrival information that you must have before you
step foot into the apartment. This information is downloaded and printed from the
Internet. You must have this information at hand when you arrive in Paris. You will be informed of how to
obtain this information after the reservation is fully paid. Do not
leave home without this information!
Cancellation Policy Clients that cancel a booking may lose some or all of monies paid on
the reservation.
If another client rents the apartment for the
cancelled dates, then the canceling client is refunded all monies paid
on the reservation except for a $125 cancellation fee or 15% of the
cost of the rebooked nights, whichever is greater.
If the apartment is not rented for the
cancelled dates and the client has made only the confirmation payment,
then there is no refund.
If the apartment is rented for some of the
cancelled dates and full payment has been made on the reservation,
then credit is given to the rented nights and the refund is equal to
the difference between the reservation cost and the credit plus a $125
cancellation fee.
For all cancelled reservations, the
key/security deposit is always fully refundable provided the keys have
been returned to Vacation In Paris.

Most apartments have a short stay surcharge
for stays of less than five nights; the cost is shown in the rate box
appearing on each apartment page.

additional $25 fee to cover the extra cost of Global Priority mail
service to ship the apartment keys and maps.
For reservations of more than 7 nights, an extra set of linens and
towels will be provided at no additional cost. The client may also
request the apartment cleaned and serviced at an additional cost (fees

Accidental Damage Waiver
In order to help make your stay as worry free as possible and also to
protect the apartment owner's property, all guests are required to
purchase a damage waiver. The cost is $29 for apartments that have a
non-discounted nightly rate of less than $250 per night and $49 for all
others. This is a single charge for any length of stay and covers all
accidental damage up to a maximum of $1450.00 per reservation for all
guests staying in the apartment. There is a $100 deductible that can be deducted from
the $150 key security deposit. The damage waiver is
a purchase and the cost is non-refundable.

Damage due to intentional acts, gross negligence, or willful misconduct.

responsible for the keys

properties
unless specifically stated).

brought
onto the premises.

personal property whatsoever. You agree that it is your sole
responsibility to protect and safeguard all your personal property and

our guests. However, on days in which there is a same day change over,
guest must adhere to following rules: Departing guests
must vacate the property by no later
than 9:30 AM (09:30)
local time

earlier than 9:30 AM
(09:30) local time
If you are departing on a day in which there
will be no other guest arriving you may usually leave later than 9:30 AM
but you need to contact the apartment manger for final approval of the
actual check out time.
When you arrive at the apartment with the keys, you may let yourself in anytime after 9:30
by using the
key and the directions given in pre-arrival file for the apartment. If
you find the apartment clean, then you may occupy it right away. But if
it needs to be cleaned, you may leave your luggage but you cannot
occupy the apartment until the cleaners have completed their work
(usually no later than 2:00 PM -14:00).
Falsified reservations
Any reservation obtained under false pretenses will be subject to
forfeiture of advance payment, deposit, and/or rental money and the
party will not be permitted to check in or will be required to leave if
already occupying the property. Such falsification may include but are
not limited to the number of persons booked into the property and the
ages of the guests.
Persons less than 21 years of age may only
occupy an apartment when accompanied by an adult having a minimum age of
25 years old. The minimum rental age is 21.
Outage
of Technical Services
It is possible that the Internet service, telephone service, or cable TV
service in your apartment is unavailable during your stay due to
problems that are out of the control of the property owner. It is also possible
that the Internet service provided is not compatible with the your
computer's operating system or configuration. In such cases, neither the
property owner nor VIP will be responsible any loses or
expenditures due to the outage.
In properties that have Wi-Fi
connectivity to the Internet, it is possible that the system may not be
compatible with your computer or working properly. It is always a good
idea to carry with your computer a standard Ethernet cable to be used if
your laptop is unable to connect with the wireless signal.
Unforeseen Circumstances
If a rental property becomes unavailable or uninhabitable for any
reason including but not limited to fire, water outage, water damage,
electrical failure, legal restrictions, change in ownership of the
property VIP agrees to use best efforts to secure
an equivalent rental property for guests that have reserved the
property. If an alternate property is not possible, VIP reserves the right to cancel the
reservation and return all monies to the guest. In no event shall VIP be
liable for any special, indirect, punitive, incidental, exemplary or
consequential damages, or any damages whatsoever resulting from the
cancellation of a reservation or due to the property not being available.
If VIP determines that the property is uninhabitable, then the maximum
liability for any nights that the guest was unable to occupy the
property is equal to but not more than the reservation costs for those
nights lost.
Information Contained on this Website
The specific apartment information is believed to be correct, it has
been provided by the apartment owners and inspections of the properties
by employees of VIP. However, VIP nor the property owner can not be held
liable for any inaccuracies or changes in this information. This is
especially true for services such as Internet, telephone and cable TV,
or elevator where the supplier of such services or equipment failure has
temporarily caused an outage. We also can't guarantee that in those
properties where the Internet is available, that the service will be compatible with all computers or
operating systems.
Also
please note that some of the photos used on this website have been taken
with wide angle lenses to show as much of the property in one photo as
possible and tend to make the rooms larger than the actual size. The
actual surface area given for each apartment is the best way to judge
the apartment size.
The web pages may also refer to the floor number or elevation; be
advised that in Europe the floors are counted from the ground floor
being equal to zero, the first floor is one flight up, the second floor
two flights up, etc.
There may be instances of temporary changes in the state of the
surrounding area either inside the apartment building or outside the
building such as work or construction on adjacent buildings or work
being done on the common areas within the building or other apartments
in the building. Although our policy is to advise our guests of
conditions that we feel may impact their stay, this is not always
possible. Discounts for such conditions will be at the sole discretion of the
property owner and VIP.
