Paris Transfer
Options
So far so good - you've got your vacation rental lined
up in Paris and you have now arrived at one of the Paris airports or
train stations. But how will you get to your apartment?
 |
Private Car Service
For this pre-paid service there will be a person waiting for you as soon as you leave
the customs area at the airport or on the train platform. Look for your name
on a hand-held sign and then you'll be on your way! One reliable
company that we have used is
Global Transfer Services. They provide excellent service at a
reasonable price and you can even book and pay or get a price quote online
and extra luggage is not a problem.
This option is the least stressful and safest of any, the cost is moderate.
RER Train & Metro
We advise this mode of transportation only for those travelers that have
used the Paris metro system before and are traveling "light" as there are
stairs that need to be navigated and with baggage this may be difficult.
Also note that you will probably be tired and in unfamiliar territory - a
prime target for pickpockets! Save your first metro experience for another
day.
Roissy Bus & Air France Buses (airport service only):
After you leave the airport terminal you will then have to find the
embarkation point for one of these services. The bus will then drop you off
at one of a number of downtown locations from which you need to find a
taxi that will take you to the apartment.
Shuttle Vans
There are several van services that can be found on the Internet. The
usual procedure is that you book the van online several days before
arriving at either CDG or ORY. Then, after you clear customs, you need
to telephone the shuttle company and inform them that you have arrived
and they will then set a meeting place where you will be met, usually within
about 30 minutes.
Taxi
Public taxis are available at certain locations at each terminal. The
level of service varies depending upon the driver. Sometimes our guests
have had trouble arranging a taxi for the return trip to the airport.
The cost is dependent on the traffic and there may be surcharges for
extra luggage.
