Comments:We are veteran visitors to Paris and found this apt and its surrounding neighborhood surprisingly full of life with lots of options for enjoying Paris culture, including restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets and outdoor markets, as well as local movie theaters. The apt was also close to the metro with easy access to Central Paris. Although the Alesia area is further from the center of the City than most areas e.g. the Marais or the Champs, it was more Parisian and reflected a more accurate picture of the locals. It wasn't as dominated by tourists. You heard French spoken in the restaurants and markets rather than English or German although the population was quite accommodating. The apt itself offered everything you would need: a comfortable bed, a full array of utensils and a washer and dryer which worked well. The only complaint: a bath mat to provide traction would be nice. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. As above, the bathtub and shower would benefit with a mat.

Comments:The neighborhood (far south 14th) was perfect for us, as our son and his family live nearby, and that was a primary consideration in our choice of location. It might not be as good for someone who wished to be close to major tourist attractions in the center of Paris.

Comments:This apartment is in the 14th but we loved that. It was easy getting off at the Alesia metro stop. Stop at Picard, the butcher and the U express on our way home. The apartment was so huge compared to other places in Paris. Great little terrace and furnished very nice. I loved all the big windows. Mary, the owner was wonderful and helped us with directions and tips on where to go in the neighborhood. We called on our arrival and she was at the front door waiting for us. Great market street close by that is easy walking. The neighborhood is very safe and more local. Very quiet at night. We will return again. A+ apartment and you were so easy to work with. No fear of renting from Mary.
