I am so happy your blog shows me what Paris looks like beyond all the touristy photographs. I am excited for my trip at the end of December and look forward to spending as much time as possible wandering around the twinkling street lights! And a HUGE thank you for recommendations on what to do during thos cold, drizzly (yet wonderful) months!

Comments on the St Michel area was very welcome – thank you. Will be doing lots of reading between now and our trip in November. A good read is ‘A Town Like Paris’ by Bryce Corbett who is a fellow Aussie living in Paris. Cheers.

thank you for this information ! we are planning to visit Paris next month and have chosen apt Splendid St Germain, (#235) and are very excited about our plans. i cant say i am an avid skater, but i have heard there are lots of rental bikes around which can be used by anyone. Vive la France !
