Newly renovated large apartment (March 2008) with stunning “reach out
and touch” views of a grand old Russian Orthodox church.
This building is located near the Arc de Triomphe on
Place Ternes in the 8th District (Arrondissement) and
is on one of the few private streets in Paris and in a prestigious
area of the city. You are only about a 12-15 minute walk to the Champs
Élysées.
The apartment is located on the fourth floor of this
19th century building (with elevator) and is overlooking
the gardens and golden domes of the Russian orthodox church (but don’t
worry, they only ring once at 10am!). No cars are allowed on the
street so it is very quiet - A peaceful retreat in one of the busiest
areas of Paris.
And if the great location were not enough, the
apartment owners have completely renovated this large two bedroom
flat, using high quality furnishings and furniture throughout.
The apartment has all the charm of the 19th century
Parisian apartments with high molded ceilings, hardwood floors, a
fireplace (decorative only), wood molding on the walls, iron work on
the balcony, bow windows – all this with the comfort and modernity of
new appliances.
BEDROOMS:
There is a Master bedroom with a Queen-size bed for two adults. The
second bedroom has separate twin beds which can be pushed together to
form one large King-size bed, (includes a top mattress when formed
together). There is a quality double sofa-sleeper in the living room,
that can sleep two adults comfortably as well. A total of 6 adults can
occupy this large apartment, with its 66m2 (730 sq feet).
This apartment also offers a “bonus” separate small
room, which is located on the top floor (walk 2 floors up via the
building’s stairs). It can be used by an adult or young adult. This
provides sleeping quarters for a 7th person (for small
additional charge). The room has also been
entirely renovated and has its own shower and sink with shared WC next
door, (not inside the room itself, but just next door, accessed via
the hallway and it is used by neighbors as well). This room is
completely independent and therefore has its own privacy, (lockable
door, etc). There are no cooking facilities in the room, only shower
and sink with one twin size bed.
BATHROOMS:
The apartment has two bathrooms, each is located just off the bedrooms (see floor plan). The large one for the Master bedroom has a tub and
hand-held shower, plus sink (no WC). The smaller bathroom
off the second bedroom has a shower, sink and WC. For easy access this
bathroom conveniently has a second door which opens to the living
room.
KITCHEN:
The apartment’s kitchen has all new cabinets, new appliances and
includes, a dishwasher, combination oven and microwave in one unit, stove top
with electric burners, coffee machine and toaster. There is a
combination washer/dryer unit in the apartment. There is both a dining
table for six people as well as a bar-counter. There is another
important feature for such a large apartment that accommodates six
people, and that is the gas furnace for "never out hot water".

The location is perfect for all.
- The Food & Wine lovers will walk to the best gourmet shops in Paris (Dalloyau,
Taillevant, Hediard) and will spend hours cruising the most quintessentially
Parisian market in the nearby Rue Poncelet. The rue Poncelet market is
particularly inviting as it has a combination of fruit, vegetables and produce
stalls lined up alongside some of the best food stores in the city. Even in the
windy cold of November these little shops open their fronts to the streets in a
symphony of color, sound and aromas. Sample the best assortment of French
cheeses at Fromagerie des Gourmets at 7, rue Poncelet or some excellent and
typical French baguette at PAUL bread shops. It is a unique experience!
- The Classical Music addicts will just die to be literally two steps away from
the city’s main concert Hall - Salle Pleyel – which reopened after its most
radical renovation to date, a $36 million makeover that involved gutting and
redesigning its main auditorium. You actually can see the back of the building
from the living room and – if you are lucky – on a summer evening may hear
pianists practicing. And in the summer, why not just walk to the Parc Monceau
and attend its annual Chopin Festival?
- The Joggers and nature lovers will not believe they are so close (300 feet) to
the Parc Monceau. Known as one of the most attractive parks in Paris, Park
Monceau, the brainchild of the Duke of Orleans in the 18th century, has become a
favorite resting place for those looking for some peace and quiet away from the
busy city. Stroll among its pretty flower gardens and interesting array of
statues, relax along its little ponds, grottos and waterfall or jog in its
alleys. This is just one of the most romantic places in Paris at you door steps.
- The Architecture and History maniacs will wake up to the stunning view of the
Cathédrale St-Alexandre-Nevsky, probably the most beautiful Russian church in
France. The style is Byzantine-moscovite, with bulb-like pinnacle domes, a gilded
ball and a cross at each apex. Enjoy a sunny lunch on the living room balcony
overlooking the church gardens or just admire the view from your bed through the
bedroom windows. The bells only ring once at 10am in the morning so you’ll just
enjoy the peaceful view.
- The fashion victims will not resist the luxury fashion shops going down on
Faubourg St Honoré towards the presidential palace (Élysées). From Chanel to
Hermes and more, just walk them all!

Hi There!
I have just come back from a long weekend in Paris at the above
apartment I just wanted to send a note to say how impressed my wife
and I were with the apartment.Having stayed
in hotels in Paris many times before and often been disappointed by
their size.....unless paying top dollar for a swanky property...we
were very pleasantly surprised by this accommodation. It has to be the
quietest accommodation in Paris...I have never slept so well in that
city!!
The apartment in general is well laid out and apart from a lack of
hanging space in the bedroom which adjoins the en suite shower room
(and a second loo which I am sure is not possible) it was ideal for
our short stay. I would gladly recommend the apartment and therefore
your company to anyone looking for something similar....we also hope
to return ourselves. It was also charming of the owner who happened to
be in Paris from America to pop in and see that we were well.
We are about to try and book similar accommodation in Rome....do you
have a sister company for Rome?
Many thanks again and kind regards
Philip N., Rutland, UK |
