Very cozy “bird nest” type studio, on the upper floor with a large elevator (no stairs and no luggage to carry up!) which has just been re-furbished with all new furniture (June 2007).

This is a very central area, in close walking distance to the famed Montorgueil shopping farmers’ market area, and Chatelet, the center point of Paris. You will be only a two minute walk to the Metro, (Reaumur Sebastopol) which is great for transport!  You can also stroll to the Hotel de Ville (the mayor’s Palace) in about 10-12 minutes or Notre Dame in about 15-17 minutes walk.

This is a large handsome building that has two entrances, one on the busy Sebastopol side and the other on the back/side street (rue Palestro). You have a large elevator to take you to the top floor. Like so many Parisian buildings, this top floor apt has a slanted roof, so the inside ceiling also slopes inwards. Do note that while you may obviously stand up without hindrance in most of the flat, there is a part that has this slant. The owners have appropriately taken advantage of the space and used the lower-ceiling areas for storage ( and for the foot of the bed for example). There are 3 windows which face out east, to bring in the morning light, and look out over the Parisian rooftops. This is a quiet apartment, far above the traffic below (6^th floor) and well insulated from noise. Being the last floor, you will not have upstairs neighbors noise either.

There are two twins beds which are separated, but can easily be fitted together to form a Queen size bed (simply state your preference upon reserving). The bathroom is large, with a good sized shower. There is a coffee table, a high-bar eating area, with two stools and a kitchen that will allow you to cook or just keep supplies in the refrigerator (see below for details).

The owner is considering to put in a roll-away cot for a third person (child or young adult), but you can also request an air-bed mattress for the floor (or baby crib as well!).

The studio measures 24 sq meters, or about 260 sq. ft., which is a typical Parisian size small studio. We think you will find it cozy, and offering all the amenities you need, plus a great central location close to transport (and enjoy the bird’s eye view!).
